Dave was incredibly helpful and very kind while getting set up for our storage unit. The price was very reasonable and the were able to month to month with no minimum- we only need a unit for one month so this was a huge plus! The only down side is a lack of parking for your car while unloading/ loading but thankfully no one else was there during that time. It would also be nice for covered parking spots because while we moved our belongings it was raining. Otherwise a great spot for storage! Very good location for NW Reno. read more

**beware, they will auction your storage away if you lapse on half a payment for a week even if you've been a customer for a decade!! They will make "arrangements " with your payment and take everything in the middle of the night! I was out of town due to a family emergency and came back to everything gone! They took my whole life over a $100 dollar balance that was a week late!! They accepted the payment and when I went to the storage place, the code was no longer valid!! I was a customer for more than 10 years with 2 units and you guys came in and took everything soon after I moved! You guys even returned my last $200 dollar payment because you "felt bad" Your debt to the people here is far greater than a simple $200 return. I hope your business goes down just like your morals!! God only knows how many people you've robbed!! Shame on you!!!!! read more

It is rare and far between anymore these days to go anywhere to find AMAZING customer service! I've been storing with this place for almost 4 years, and my family is been storing with them for the last decade! Dave & his wife, and really anyone there is absolutely phenomenal at maintaining a high standard of customer service! Every time I had a question, comment, or concern they were on top of it! Didn't matter who I talked to, that person was the one who got me to the solution! Their facility is astoundingly cleanly, spacious, and safe! They have a bunch of different size units for whatever your storing needs are! Rather then blindly go to another storage facility, not knowing what to expect, come to Silverado Self Storage, you'll notice the difference from day 1! When I was moving out, it was around 1030AM and the freight elevator was not working, Dave immediately came to my assistance and fixed it! Then when we managed to get it jammed again, he again, immediately came out and fixed it! Everyone here is SUPER friendly, extremely helpful, and just all around good people! Summary: Clean, newer, well kept and secure facility; easy access (both location and hours of operation), free moving van to move in, helpful/informative staff, climate controlled storage available, good design so it is easy to get stuff in/out of your unit even if you are inside or on the second floor (including large freight elevators), second month free currently (3/1/10). Detail: I am relocating from my beloved San Francisco to Reno to be with my fiance and needed a place to store all of my shizz until we find a new home together here, including a grand piano worth more than most cars (dang those things are a pain in the rear!). I looked at a number of storage facilities and found that Silverado was above the rest. It started when I called to ask about the climate controlled units for the piano. Nancy (I believe that is the owner/wife's name) was pleasant, knowledgeable, and gave great advice that had nothing to do with renting me a storage unit...she was genuinely concerned about the effect of the move on the piano and the best way of moving it. When I arrived, I was met by Jeanne, who was also very helpful and made the process of renting the units quick, organized, and easy. After viewing the units, I feel very comfortable storing the dang piano and the many other belongings I've amassed/invested in over the past 20 years there. I'm a nester, so my home environs are pretty important to me and it is tough to have the things that make my home my home in a storage unit, but I feel this is as good a storage place as it gets. Currently, you get the second month free and they will pro-rate the month you move out, as long as you let them know before that month's payment is due. And I was genuinely shocked to see the "free moving van" they offer on their site sitting there, waiting for someone to borrow it. Security-wise, the facility is "well camera-ed" and the gate is no picnic to get through: your unit number and corresponding access code are required (there is no one generic code or keys to get through) and it only allows one car though at a time. You have to enter both again to get out...and there is this scary-ass guillotine-style gate that I would never attempt to follow someone else through. Finally, if this is any indication, my fiance's 12 year old son asked if he could stay in the unit for a night...or maybe that's just because he's a 12 year old boy. read more

Nice, clean storage facility. Added bonus, you get a free moving kit (tons of boxes, tape, bubble wrap, box cutter and pen!) and may reserve their 15 foot box truck for free. Seriously, you can't beat that. Monthly rental cost is right on par with all other places I checked out. read more
