My stuff was in a unit for less than a year and in that time, my rate doubled and worse, was filled with mouse (rat?) poop when I moved out. It was DISGUSTING and involved so much cleaning and I am just glad that the stuff I stored in there was basically all stuff I could easily disinfect (things from my mosaic studio, not textiles or anything fabric). There were definitely things I had to throw away though...so for the exorbitant price, it added insult to injury. This Marketing is a huge machine built to get your payment information and you will have to go on a merry go round of ABSOLUTELY NO Information to get to any truth! The special labor day deal went from 29.00$ for a 5 by 10 to the property not even having a five by ten! This was not explained at the location I wanted to rent from. She pressed me to pay online to reserve the unit at that rate which is the admin fee. Public storage Gives you your first month free? (Supposedly) . Kristen (Agent at the location) said she gave me the customer service number and it was not customer service. They had to transfer me to customer service. Rent is due on the first of each month and not prorated because this isn't rent it's the admin fee. They automatically gave me a 6 by 8. Which is a few feet smaller than the original request. For the admin fee not the rent. The agent pressed me to pay online so she could guarantee that unit, Which was NOT the unit I requested at all! The algorithm is stating next in line to guarantee the company gets your auto pay info. And there would be no reason to talk to a human. They email you the gate passcode and auto charge you for a lock. You can use your own lock and wait for a refund. They ARE NOT being visable or accountable! Hoping you will get lost in the shuffle and forget the owed monies! And or just not want to deal with the accountability and there is no visibility! AT ALL! They are making interest on that money and making the customer last in line!!! The CEOs information is of public record and yet the (India)Customer Service number is not allowed to give it out!!! They are not giving you any information at all and it's your money!!!! Rent from a company that has concern for its customers, even if you have to pay more! At Least You Know What you're getting. I was told that a payment didn't go through. It did. Tried to get help for 2 months. It wasn't until after I moved out that the records were changed back to saying that my card was charged but they prorate if you rent for more than 30 days so they money is still theirs. I wasn't told that to begin with so I wasted my time trying to prove it was taken out of my bank account. I was also charged for a lock that I never received. I'm still trying to get that $20 back. During this time new employees were returning my calls, pretending to be managers. It's pretty suspicious that my records keep changing. I plan on taking my info to the FTC too. It may not be a lot of money but money records shouldn't change and I kept the logs from my chat with the corporate office. The manager is also rude when she does finally return a call. read more

BRENDA was the most helpful, kind person ever!! We came from out of town to clean out a 15 year old storage for my grandmother who passed away so we already had a hard day ahead of us. Brenda was so helpful, gave us gloves, masks and checked in on us multiple times to see if we needed anything. Huge rate increases every 6 months, got to almost $400/month in just 18 months. Found a similar unit within a half mile for half the price. Office only staffed maybe half the time....when someone is onsite it's usually a new employee who isn't up to speed. Also poorly maintained. Almost got trapped inside when the gate failed to open. read more

Very unhappy with pricing. My monthly payment grew to a whopping $360 a month for a 10x20. I found the same unit at a different storage company for $100. Also, it is their policy that they will NOT pro rate you upon vacating. So, I lost close to 2 weeks of money because I vacated mid month. Morality out the window for this company. read more

Hard to complain about the price when it's in the right neighborhood and it's a super convenient drive-up unit with an extra wide roll-up door. I appreciate the very comprehensive mobile app that let's me do everything from rent new units to pay my bill. Rent online and find everything waiting inside the unit upon arrival. It's great. Rented a storage unit about 6 months ago to ease moving transition. Today, I recieved a rate increase of $34 a month. I expected some rate increase but this is ridiculous. Reading the Yelp reviews, I can expect this every 6 months. Hopefully we'll be out before then. Usually, there's no one in the office and the door knob to the unit building has been broken for about 2 months. If you need a storage unit, I would recommend you look elsewhere. read more

I put down $88 cash on a storage contract. They deceived me with promises they did not keep. I canceled immediately. Never set foot in the space. They promised my refund in ten weeks!! Now, nothing. Stolen TV amongst other things. Rented a unit and came back to it after a few months and realized our TV was gone along with a full box of Mary k cosmetics. I'm sure we will notice more missing stuff later. When we left the unit we used the app and it turned red and locked. They have cameras but dont keep the video for very long so it's pretty pointless. They wont pay for our stolen items because there is no evidence of forced entry. So I'm out a $1200 TV and $2000 in mary k for starters. Seems they have a thief working for them so it's best to go elsewhere read more

Not really quite sure why this storage facility has such terrible reviews!! Diana and Angela were so helpful, kind, and thorough when I felt like a total basket case as I scrambled to find a place to store the bulk of my apartment as I transition from one apartment to another. This place is clean and well lit (although bring your flashlight if you have a unit down a hallway. That's probably my only complaint is that close to 9pm, those hallway lights are off). I have been a long term renter . They have raised the rates 84% over the last several years . No lighting so you cannot see what you are doing unless you have unit that is on the outside. They changed out the locks several years ago so bring a sledge hammer to get your door open or closed . read more

So far so good on my experience with Public Storage. The price is right, and management helped me find a unit that is just the right size. Booked online to take advantage of the first month free. I was required to purchase insurance on my unit (just $9/month covers you for claims up to $2000)--I am not sure why the previous reviewer could not have filed a claim with the insurance as it seems like a storm is exactly the type of thing insurance would cover. I shopped a couple of other storage units in the area before deciding on this one and I am very happy with my decision. read more

The manager of this location, Angela, is an absolutely amazing person. I recently moved from Los Angeles to Reno, and needed a storage unit to keep my stuff while I found an apartment. While signing up, Angela noticed that the people at the Los Angeles Public Storage location had failed to vacate my unit, and had actually billed me for a month in which it was vacant. She walked me through the process of getting a refund, tracked down all the phone numbers and contact information I needed, and even put a note on my account to make it clear that everything was legitimate. She's helpful, kind, and exactly what good customer service should be. read more

DO NOT USE THIS STORAGE PLACE! There was a storm in Dec. Ended up with a hole in the roof. Ruined our NEW bed, and NEW sofa. Informed Roger (very nice man) that we would be emptying the unit by end of Jan. THEY STILL WANTED RENT FOR THE UNIT WITH THE HOLE IN THE ROOF! Said we could have a month free if we moved into another unit! WHAT? REALLY? Why would we move our things TWICE? It costs us aprox $300 - $400 every time we move. So instead of their management being smart and saying just empty the unit by end of Jan, they wanted the months rent. Now have had to go to small claims to get the balance of our money for our sofa and bed. WHAT A NIGHTMARE! Everyone keep saying the same thing, "Sorry I can't help you". Even the district manager. Stacey couldn't. Why have managers if they can't help the people that rent from you. A manager on any level should be able to make an "executive decision" unless all these people are liars.
