Awful experience. Stay away. My daughter's plane got delayed and she missed her appointment. She had checked a box on the form asking to have her stuff delivered regardless of whether she was there. She arrived to no stuff and they were closed on move in Sunday. ON Monday, we both reached them to learn that although there is a box to check on the form it only applies to those living off campus at Cornell (how you would know that, I have no idea) and the next appointment was four days later. I requested a call from a supervisor and never received one. You can't go to the warehouse so are totally stuck. read more

While the actual workers and students transporting the items were quick and time-efficient in moving my belongings in & out, the management behind Storage Squad is truly horrible. The price calculation on the site completely does not accurate reflect the actual price that they charge. On the site, it says that they charge by cubic feet so I actually measured & calculated the volume of all my items to ensure that I'd be accurately charged of course, and determined that my total cost would be $200. Instead, they charged me $255 and when I emailed them multiple times asking for an explanation behind why and exactly how they calculated the price, they ignored the question multiple times, never ended up answering the question, and simply said that the price was correct. There is absolutely no transparency behind price calculation, which is extremely important for college students that may not be able to afford much. Instead, they think that they can randomly assign charges with absolutely no explanation behind them just because a lot of Cornell students are wealthy. Honestly, they're kinda swindling many people for their money & I absolutely do not recommend this service to anyone at all. read more

I highly recommend Storage Squad - Cornell! I got free/complimentary boxes and packing tape. On the day of my scheduled pickup appointment, I got a link (via text) telling me how many people were in front of me, so I had a better sense of when I had to be ready. The moving crew was really friendly and patient with me. I still didn't have all my boxes taped and labeled when they got there, but they were really nice about it. I also lived on the eighth floor of a Gothic on West Campus (no elevator!), and the guys carrying my stuff seemed to barely break a sweat--they were pretty quick too! Finally, I found Storage Squad to be cheaper than its competitors, and I'll definitely use them if I ever need summer storage again. read more

They were so flexible about scheduling my daughter's pickup in May, and even helped me set up two accounts so she could get two pickups done as her packing was getting done. When it was time to get everything delivered back, I set up a narrowed time and in room delivery, and they very kindly waived one set of fees, so I only had to pay once. I found Storage Squad after some short searching for a Summer storage company, all of the other competition was charging far more, and considering I had quite a bit of things to store, I opted for Storage Squad. I was very impressed with the fact that they provided me with the boxes, tape, and markers. For a reasonable fee two guys came and helped me move all of my items downstairs. This was great because I couldn't have done it by myself, even if I had tried, as I live on the top floor of a building with no elevator. For another fee Storage Squad redelivered all of my items to my room and it took nearly no time at all. I was impressed because I had figured that so many items would have taken much longer to move. The guys working who brought me my things were very friendly and even made a few jokes while they were there. Overall, I thought Storage Squad met all of my storage needs and I would recommend them to anyone looking for affordable summer storage. read more

I have to say, the guys I have spoken to whenever I call to ask for help or make a storage rental booking could not be nicer! Though I have never had a face to face with anyone at the facility, access has always been easy, clean and safe. The one time my daughter's entry code did not work, she was able to get someone on the phone and still gain access to her unit. Though it is not super close to Ithaca College (closet to Cornell) it is not a long drive. Worth it though for the cleanliness and customer service ;) I have never used this company for packing/moving so I cannot speak to that. read more

We used the self storage facility that Storage Squad has and I can't say a bad thing about them. They have a security fence all around the facilities with a gated entry, which I haven't seen anywhere else. I was able to rent a unit online and move my stuff in the next day without any problems. The facilities are super clean and they even have hand trucks there for you to use. They also supply a lock and keys brand new in packaging so you do not have to go out and buy one. You can get access to your unit 24 hours a day 7 days a week too. I am super impressed and would most definitely recommend using their self storage facilities. read more

I have used storage for the past 4 years. With the storage option and the UPS shipping option. The movers are always friendly and their customer service has always been helpful. I have learned not to store or ship mirror because they do tend to shatter, other than that everything arrives back to me is one piece. read more

This was oyr first time using Storage Squad. We were a little disappointed that the time frame was 11-12 and they came to the room just before 12. We used our own boxes because my son forgot to pick up his mega boxes. Our mattress topper would not have even fit in a mega box and we ran out of our own boxes. I was surprised that it cost $53 to store a frig which could not fit in a mega box. Your mega box is smaller than the boxes we used so we would have needed more boxes so we saved a few dollars. The Storage Squad employees were friendly, polite and efficient It is not as reasonably priced as we expected it to be but save us the hassle of renting a storage unit and moving the items ourselves. read more

I've used Storage Squad heavily for three years. They've always offered very good service, and I'm generally pleased with them. However, this last time they forgot to ship my boxes on the date I specified! It's a good thing I called the next day to ask about my boxes' status, or they might not have noticed. Then, when I asked them if they could ship the boxes expedited because they messed up my order, they said they "didn't offer that service." He was 1 minute late so he made up for it by doing room service! He even went and brought us a muffin basket on his time off to apologize. Very unsatisfied. My pick up window was supposed to be 11-5 but they came at 6, charged me $33 per box regardless of what it says about $25 per box. Also charged me for pick up but they were not allow to go into my building so they didn't pick up. read more

The Worst Storage Company I have EVER EVER encountered! I have emailed them back and forth for more than a month and they still have not shipped out the box they forgot to ship out at the first place(it was July). There is no way you can reach out to them by phone. They only have a email address and rarely I got reply from the customer service. I have to email them a dozen of emails before I got any info from them. Now after a month of emailing, all they could tell me is that they would ship out ASAP, but the ASAP has been lasting for a MONTH. Although the service is very easy to configure online, I never received the mega box i asked for so i had to buy my own boxes and i had two scheduled orders that were picked up extremely late both times . Do not use this company. Yes, compared to other storage companies they are the cheapest. Remember the adage, you get what you pay for. When school restarted in August my daughter's footlocker was damaged. She took out insurance so we thought the item was covered. Wrong. All they did was refund the storage fee. It is October and the microfridge is still missing. I tried calling, I received a recorded message saying how busy they are and to either email them or converse over live chat. It is October and a Sunday. How are they busy? While on live chat I asked t speak to a manager, no luck. Stay away. Pay the extra money for good, reliable service. read more

Had a terrible experience these guys; they clearly care more about making money than taking care of their customers. I was unable to make my delivery appointment because of a cancelled flight and was charged $30 for the missed appointment IN ADDITION TO $29 to schedule a new "special" appointment. These fees almost add up to the price that I payed to store my items in the first place! Trying to contact their customer service led me nowhere as they refused to address my issues but instead responded in a very unprofessional manner. There is no place for these outdated "hidden fee" business practices in 2016 and, needless to say, I will not be using their service in the future and advise you to do likewise. read more

The men who picked up my boxes were prompt and professional and the prices were so affordable. When it came time to get my stuff, I was nervous. But, true to its reputation, the company delivered my items to me in perfect condition. Great they they offer supplies (boxes and tape) included in the fees. It was annoying that they did not advertise that they could not enter the campus building, so I paid the $15 for room service for nothing (I ended up having to move all my boxes by myself but still had to pay the room service fee). Also between the time they texted that they were on the way and then they actually got there was 45 minutes, so I was waiting in my lobby for way longer than expected. After researching storage companies in Ithaca for a few weeks, it was clear that there were only two options- Big Red Shipping, and Storage Squad. After comparing prices, I decided to go with Storage Squad as it was significantly cheaper. I was unsure about this decision because I know that low prices usually lead to lesser service. On pick-up day, they were there within the 5 minute timeframe that they provided. Two men came to pick-up my 21 boxes within a matter of minutes- no hassle. On delivery day they gave me a detailed schedule, and a call 2 minutes in advance. Again, right on time. They returned all my items to the 6th floor of Lyon hall (no elevator!) once again, in a matter of minutes. They even returned my mirror and glass table without a single scratch. I can't speak to Big Red Shipping's service, but Storage Squad had seamless process with friendly workers. 5/5, would choose again. read more
