My moving plans changed a few times after booking these guys because of all the current chaos with rentals, and Eric was completely helpful and flexible in rearranging the moving plans for me. He was fully communicative about when he would arrive, showed up when he said he would, and he and his colleague did a terrific and efficient job moving a bunch of awkward and heavy items down some truly egregious stairs. I had to move my office from one town to another in April during the COVID pandemic. I had quite a bit of furniture and about 70 boxes of paperwork, supplies, and other items. I had a desk that needed to be taken apart and reassembled. My new office was on the 2nd floor of a building - no elevator. I had contacted another company who would not move me during the pandemic. I received a quote within hours of my requesting one. It was very reasonable. Eric called the morning of the move to let me know their arrival time. They were quick, efficient, and definitely strong backs. There were no complaints on how much there was to move. After packing everything into their truck, they drove very carefully to my new office. I could not fit everything into the new office, so they moved the remaining items into two other buildings on the same property with no complaints. Had my low budget movers cancel on me the week before the move. Eric (the owner) of Big Strong Back was a Godsend and helped make the move so much less stressful. When the completely separate person I had hired cancelled last minute to hang my new 77 inch TV, Eric relieved my fears of missing the Knicks game and said he could hang the TV for me, no problem. When my friend who was helping me unload was having trouble putting together the 2 new beds for my exhausted, 84 year old Mom, and Sister were supposed to sleep on Eric once again relieved my stress and said he could do it. From Start to finish these guys are awesome. We decided to hire loaders in Austin and drive the truck ourselves. We didn't have a hard time in Austin due to hundreds of moving companies to choose from. Not the case in western New York. We couldn't even get a response from the fee available. Eric and his team were TOP NOTCH. We purchased a new home and were on a tight schedule. Our closing date - when we actually got the keys the house- was just one day before we had to check out of our old apt. With only my 3 yr old son and pregnant wife to help me pack, there was no way this would have been possible without movers. Eric patiently answered my multiple calls and text messages confirming the move date, which I made out of sheer nervousness about getting hung out to dry. Big strong back was amazing. Before the day of the move they answered all of our questions and helped us think about the best ways to pack. Our move was on Saturday at 8:00am and the guys were on time. They were friendly, and most importantly fast. Their prices are really fair and they don't do a two hour minimum so they ended up being the most affordable option by a long shot. They had our three bedroom apartment (with additional items from storage) loaded perfectly into a uhaul in 1.25 hrs, incredible. We didn't have to worry about things fitting in bc they clearly have experience packing up the truck with Tetris style thinking. I used these guys to move and store my business of 32 years, MasterCraft Custom Framing. They were available on short notice for a big move involving large and heavy equipment. They are great. They loaded up everything and had it in storage in about 6 hours and sent me photos of the storage unit at the end of the day! I should add that this was on the last Sunday in Dec.2019, and I had to have everything out by Jan.1st.They could have charged me anything as I was on deadline and yet their price was incredibly reasonable. I am getting ready to have major interior renovation done on my 1884 farmhouse and I will be using them again. When my adult son was moving I offered to set up a moving service for him. But on moving day the movers I hired did not show up. This put us in a serious bind, because my son could not do it himself. Amazing service!!! Recently, we were moving within town. We had lot of things. It was a hot and muggy day. Eric and his crew showed up right on time and performed an amazing job. Most of the items had to go up a steep flight of stairs without parking in the immediate vicinity (on the Ithaca commons).
