I'm disappointed to report that this Stop and Shop location has seen better days. I usually only stop in if I'm in the area and in need of a few staple items for an upcoming recipe or impromptu gathering. The produce is hit or miss... they're either fully stocked or just crumbles left on the shelves. I usually scurry by the seafood counter because more often than not, it is malodorous. The rest of the place seems clean, there's just always that smell I don't perceive at other grocery store seafood departments. The rest of the store is fairly well stocked of late but the prices are out of this world. Pricing is up everywhere, don't get me wrong. I'm talking items that are significantly more than what I pay at my usual place each week. For example, lobster pricing at my go-to (non-sale price) was $9.99/lb while Stop and Shop was $15.99/lb same week! This is an extreme example but I always pay more for the same or seemingly lower quality. Parking lot is large, store is easy to get around. It's been fairly quiet my last couple visits, making for a quick in and out. Not a lot of people about. The staff are nice and attentive though. All in all, I prefer to take my business elsewhere. read more

I dont typically shop at Stop and Shop but there was a $10 off a purchase of $50 coupon so took advantage of it. Store is super clean. I found the people at the deli very friendly. Lots of deals and very well stocked. Gas on site as well! read more

It is near impossible to find what you want here unless it's something very simple. And then when you find it you find that it is on sale but only if you have a card. I don't need another card I don't want another card and I don't need a card that connects to my personal information. Won't be back. read more

Seriously???? I actually like this S & S, and find it easy to locate items, it's never really all that crowded, and the self-check lines are great. There is a nice guy who works stocking the frozen food who I always see and he recognizes me and says hello. So why the 1-star rating? Today's experience, that's why! Noel/Nora (whatever her name is with the dark brown hair) at the Customer Service desk around 3:45 is AWFUL. Yes, that bad that I am calling her out on Yelp. She works in "Customer Service", yet her attitude was that of someone better suited to working somewhere that never sees a soul. A morgue, perhaps? A trip to Dave's Market in Coventry would show her how nice people can - and SHOULD - be. Actually, maybe I'll just go there exclusively from now on... and you should too! read more

Shelves are never stocked. Only ever have one cashier on. The few staff you do see aren't very friendly or willing to help at all. They all seem like they don't want to be there at all. Some days the deli or seafood counter are closed without warning. Might as well go to Daves a few miles away where they have fully stocked shelves and plenty of staff. read more

I was doing my shopping with my service dogs and got told that they weren't allowed in the building and now I understand if they were peeing or pooping everywhere but they weren't... So done with this market! Their staff needs more customer service training, especially on the registers. Some are rude,chatty with the other staff/baggers, about personal stuff etc. I don't want to hear about your plans for your night out, I don't care! Just get me in and out in a timely manner. Biggest pet peeve, not enough registers open ever!! The deli, constantly, 3-4 people behind counter but only 2 taking orders and there is a line. I've tried to shop with the self scanner to save time . The coupon slot never accepts coupons, then you have to call someone over, then do the next one, same story it's aggravating. Also bought gift cards to some stores and they had a problem activating them. They had to call over a manager , Isn't anyone properly trained? I'll take my business to Dave's, Tom's or Roch's at least they appreciate your business read more

I hate that ever since they rearranged the store I still cannot seem to find anything. The good news is the staff always helpful when I can't find stuff. Otherwise, it's Stop & Shop. Not the newest and fanciest one in Rhode Island but you pretty much know what you are going to get (when you find it, that is). read more

I like this stop and shop better then any of the other ones I've been to. The flower shop always has pretty fresh flowers and the store is organized very well. I've been shopping here since I was a kid and the layout hasn't changed much in years which is good because I can find stuff easily. read more

I understand everybody is stressed out during covid but when I go through the trouble of scanning every item on my own before even getting to check out, and bagging everything myself (also before going to check out) so that I can simply scan the barcode on the device and then pay and be done-I'm not expecting to be told that I have to stop and they have to scan every single item again. I have a right to say out loud that I don't understand why that's happening and that I do it to save time and that I'm not pleased. This is what I related to the girl working self checkout in a very calm tone and not in an accusatory manner. She explained to me that it was random and she had to do it and there was nothing she could do to avoid it. I very nicely said well I understand that but I still do this to save time so this really is upsetting to me. She finished, I paid, and I walked away. as I was walking away she said "have a nice night" I'm already a few steps away from her, and I don't feel like having a nice night- so I don't say anything in return. So she shouts, "what are you mad at me for?!?!" I worked in retail many years, and many times I dealt with people who are in a less than happy mood because of something that went on in my store. I always went out of my way to make them feel better about their crappy experience. I not once ever yelled at them as they were walking away. It was the height of unprofessionalism. I work in a mask eight hours a day and I'm just as stressed as the next person but I would never dream of treating someone that is in an establishment that I'm working at in that manner. read more

This place never has people at the registers, you wait in line on the slow day's one or two registers open? And for what ever the reason they allow pets in the store, non service dogs... I've decided it's worth the few dollars more to shop at Dave's instead, very clean always people at the registers and it not a friggen pet store !!! hi I never had problems with s/s but on 7/4/20 I purchased 6.115lbs of steamers for a 4th picnic at our camper. We also got lobsters and mussels. T. The steamers they sold us were bad had to throw them all out the smell was putrid coming out of the bag. I should have gone back to the store but didn't want to leave my company, cause the store was 1/2 hr. away. Live and learn I guess will never buy seafood from s/s again. I usually prefer this location to others but tonight I had just a terrible experience. There were 6-7 teenage employees chatting at the register, arguing over who would check me out. Once someone actually decided to, he was rambling to me negatively about his fellow co workers. Someone mentioned "he's getting mad" regarding me, which wasn't entirely untrue. I waited for my total to be spoken to me but it never was. I also had to mention a buy one get one free product which was eventually properly applied. Going through a grocery checkout should not be so frustrating, and it seems like these young people are receiving no real management. (The seafood section can also smell downright offensive here, but thankfully not daily anymore). read more

Nice selection of foods...earn points for purchases which can be used for discount gas which is a good deal. I like to go to Coventry as I live in Richmond and the prices tend to be lower. My favorite RI stores are Dave's, Whle Foods and Trader Joe's, but Stop and Shop is convenient and works for the basics. read more

Stop and Shop is my all time favorite market. They always have superb produce and good meats. Sometimes they can be expensive but they always have sales. Get the stop and shop card and you can get a discount on gas. read more

I have been going here since it opened and never had a complaint. However, recently they changed the whole store around. Shopping used to make sense and items were in the isles next to other items that you would need. The isles made a lot of sense too in that you start with heavier items and went all the way to frozen and then produce. It all stacked in the carriage nicely. Someone in corporate decided they knew better because of a chart or something. The store is in disarray now. Nothing is easy to find. They used to have an entire isle of chips which was almost too much. Now they have 2! What got tossed to make room for another isle of chips?? There is almost a half isle of chicken nuggets, really?? When I go there for a full shopping I have a full carriage and about $350 worth of food. I went there the other night for a FULL shopping and left with a half carriage at about $125. Someone blew it big time. Im starting to go to Daves. Sorry S&S, but you should have gone with the old motto "don't fix what ain't broken". read more
