Horrible, non existent, service. When I even inquired about service, was ignored. Left after 30 minutes.

This is a great place when you live closely to it and need some good, inexpensive bar food and drinks. My biggest complaint is the outdoor patio furniture. The patio is huge, but all of the tables and chairs were made of iron and not very comfortable. They are especially cold unless you go when it's very warm outside. I love the places that have wicker furniture or at least furniture with big, soft cushions on them. That makes you want to sit for hours in them, drink, and relax. Ambiance is huge! There is no comfy way to sit for long in iron furniture. If the furniture was updated, I would go here a lot more because you can't beat the food and prices. The staff have always been nice too! This is a VERY casual place, but I've seen dressed up people too. I'm not sure where you park here because I've always walked to it and don't remember seeing a parking lot, so it may be street parking only. I definitely recommend calling first to ask! read more

FIrst the positives. The outside seating in front is really pleasant on a nice day, and I wasn't hungry when i left. Oh and the wait staff was pretty friendly. Secondly, the things to know. This is a bar. A dive bar. A particularly nice dive bar as dive bars go. They also serve food. Their famous burgers are, to complement them slightly, meh. I mean when you leave a place thinking how much better and fresher a Wendy's burger would have been... But to be fair, if I lived in the neighborhood, I could see regularly hitting the patio, throwing back a few drafts, and, if I needed a little sobering up for the walk home, getting a dive bar food order. Cool atmosphere. Wide draft selection. The menu... someone really needs to revamp the menu. You either need to like ciabatta or pumpernickel bread. It varies from salads to Red Snapper, steak, chicken, tacos, quesadilla, etc. This place would better to shorten the menu instead of trying to put one item for 20 tastes. If I lived close, I would probably make it a hang out. Just not the place I would go specifically more dinner. ... had the Strogh burger... I think... Came in today just for nostalgia reasons. Oh the memories. I was 21 in the year of 89. However a family member was a waitress there prior to that. So I did frequent with my father for a beverage or two on the occasion. There was a great vibe then. And I have been back on the occasion. My Generation also have frequent haunts such as the Loon. And today the bartender made A comment about those who missed the Loon with a waitress. Wasn't a flattering comment. You should embrace those that are still trying to find their spot again. I'd like to thank Kenny the bartender for saving me as my phone died on the freeway with direction to the salon I was going to!! This man is an absolute life saver!! I came in so lost and confused and it's SO cold and windy outside. He let me use their phone charger. I'm not from Texas so it was a little scary and frustrating. Texas roads are REALLY bad and the roads and expressways and exits are confusing! I will be returning to come back as I saw the menu as I was waiting and everything looks good. I don't usually write reviews but this this I time I just had to. I wish I can put 0 stars. So let me tell you the whole story I came to the bar with my friends. My friend and I always nice and respectful to others people never look for a problem. We stand at the bar trying to get a drink. One of the bartenders who call himself a manager and told us his name was Mike late, start screaming and swearing at as like " get a f** out of service area" we just moved over and told him he could just ask as politely to move. Some of my friends got a drink before that, We were trying to order drink but bartender was just ignoring us at this point. I went to my friends table everything was great. Than out of nowhere bartender/manager come me and my friends and ask us to leave. I asked him what was the reason he wants us to leave, he wouldn't tell me, besides that he was being RACISTS by making fun of my European accent. I was trying to call my Uber and leave but he grabbed my phone out of my hands and throw it outside breaking my screen. Willful destruction of another's property is vandalism, which is a criminal offense. So I'm about to file a police report. Won't recommend anyone to go there because you might get treated just like me and my friends did. read more

Quick look rating: 4/5 Food & Quality, 5/5 Service, 4/5 experience. Casual laid-back place! They are known for their drinks, the sunny day patio and dog loving area out front. Dude, what the holy hell. I live about 100 yards from this place but haven't been in a long long time. Sunday at lunchtime, Mom n' I were driving around, trying to decide where to go get our beers n burgers at... and we drove right up on the 'P. I said, HEY, let's do the P". Big mistake. We parked and walked in. There were about 10 people on the patio and about 2 tables worth of people on the inside. There was one older waitress behind the bar, wrestlin' around in the beer bucket like a squirrel with a nut, looking for something. She saw us come in but continued her digging. No "Hey, Happy Sunday! Have a seat anywhere". No "Welcome to the Stoneleigh P, I'll be right with you". Just a sneer and she walked off. Mom and I looked at each other, shrugged, and waited for her to walk back our way. She finally did. We asked "Can we sit outside?" her reply was "Go on, I'll be with you in a minute!". Mkay. So we went outside and sat. And waited. Saw her bring out food. Saw her bring out menus for another table who had also been waiting and take their order and walk off. Didn't come over, ask what we'd like to drink or bring over menus. Apologize for being busy (which she couldn't have been that busy with about 20 people in the joint) or having any inkling of friendliness about her. So, we gave up, walked off, and left. I was afraid if the food she was about to serve us DIDN'T give us food poisoning, it would be spat in. The Montgomery family I come from are BIG bar going drinkers. BIG mistake. I think the people who love this bar are probably in the 50+ category who have been coming here for decades. I don't fall into either one of those categories, and was thoroughly unimpressed. Which is a bummer because it's about a 5 minute walk from my apartment. I tried to order 5 different drinks at the bar. They didn't have any of them! Stella Cidre (they were out), then just any cider (they don't have any other ciders), then a Riesling, Rose, or Prosecco (they don't have any of those, either.) I wound up with a Pinot Grigio. It was gross and warm. As for the food... also gross. We tried quesadillas, nachos, and guac/"queso" (it did not taste like queso...). While I like the atmosphere (dive-y without being dark and smoky), I will not be back. read more

I dont know how this burger has been mentioned as one of the best burgers in texas. No where close!!! I dont care what you say a burger needs more than a garlic mayo. I personally love ketchchup on a burger and of course mustard. But no, they refuse to even have ketchup. I guess it cuts some food cost. The burger was slightly dry, but tasty and the bun it was served on was sub par. Now the bar itself is tons of fun. Still smokey, but I am glad to see an old bar still keeping its old ways. I usually feel pretty terrible for having to write a bad review. However, after a good evening prior to visiting Stoneleigh P, I felt it was very necessary. A medium sized group with myself and some of my work colleagues came here after a late work event, we had some drinks, some of us had food and was the last place of the evening. However, 2am sharp, our drinks we're pretty close to being ripped out of our hands, the food remaining was forced to be boxed up and a man with a burly voice yelled from behind the bar telling us to get out. There was a fair sized group of us and we spent a lot of money here. We were not rowdy or rude - I don't think letting us stick around for a bit to talk and finish our drinks would have dramatically ruined your 2am cleanup or post work plans. Love the vibe, great craft beers on tap, good bar food. An Ugly Pug washed down my Stoneleigh P Cheeseburger ($8), which was accompanied by a side of Texas Fries ($1.75). Gal Pal had the tortilla soup, which came with fresh pico, sliced avocado, rice and tortilla strips. Both meals were filling and tasty. The vibe is very warm, a cross between hipster and divey, but it works. Our server didn't bring me my second beer but I probably was good without it so no big whoop. I managed to inexplicably go here for the first AND second time in the same day. Lunch was extremely unimpressive. I had heard good things about the burger....but it was very disappointing. It's heavy on the bread...really it overwhelmed any taste except for the spicy mustard. I'd have to put it in the lowest burger quartile in the city. Despite promising myself that I would not return for some time...I wound up there playing photo hunt later that night. And, admittedly, the bar was better...and made up for lunch somewhat. Compared to Quarter Bar, photo hunt here was a bit pricey ($1/game compared to $0.25/game I think at Quarter)...though they had a few different picture options (classic, non-pornographic, and Penthouse). They also have a digital jukebox...with a pretty decent/standard collection. The bartenders were pretty friendly...and though they don't have port (I've been into port for some reason lately) ...everything drink wise was fine if a bit overpriced. How do you judge a local bar-bar? Regulars will always five-star it and forgive the flaws. Visitors will compare it to every other spot in the city. Can you judge it as you would a full-service restaurant? Or should you expect less and give them a pass? This place is an old pharmacy with a history that has been converted to just one step up from a dive bar. Dated, tired decor but appropriate for a bar-bar, and very different than its Uptown business neighbors. Some things are endearing like the reading stand filled with magazines, or the pharmacy mock-ups lining the walls and display cases. Spacious inside yet comfortable, nice covered patio out front, a good vibe. Now it gets ugly: Beer selection is respectable but lines are infected, every beer, and they don't even know it. Pints were filled foamy and overflowing onto the floor and the bar, sloppy and sticky. Full menu that includes sandwiches, some Tex-Mex, breakfast/brunch out of a small ersatz kitchen open to the seating area. If something burns and you're seated at the bar, yeah, you're getting a face full of it. I'd heard the burgers were good so I had the Rancho Deluxe Cheeseburger, the special feature of this place. Did I say special? It's the regular burger with a side of "chipotle mayo," note the quotation marks. Side of Zapp's potato chips, as listed on the menu? Those are premium, would love some but, no, generic store-brand plain chips. Burger was decent but only of summer cookout or Whataburger quality -- bar food, nothing exceptional. I would expect just a little more from something facing the lux of the Stoneleigh right across the street. Unfair to judge it as a quality restaurant but the two-stars is mainly for the drinks, which were bad. If you're gonna be a bar-bar, at least get that part right. read more

The Stoneleigh P is real hit-or-miss. Some nights it's way over-crowded with too-fratty kids wearing blazers laughing about the embarrassingly-drunken speech they just gave at a rehearsal dinner. Some nights there's no one in there at all. Some nights it's in between, full but not too full with a fun, happy crowd. Pros: Good jukebox, great outdoor seating, pool table is actually in a room big enough for a pool table, and like I said really fun on some nights. Cons: Those "miss" nights, their burgers suck, the bartenders will take their sweet time getting your drink order, and check your bank account after you pay with a credit card- they've charged WAY too much to my credit card a few times in the past. They are not there to wipe your ass or caudal you when you trip and fall (after your many PBR's). They say hello, take your order, bring your food, hand over the bill. The end. An old pharmacy turned into a bar with a crowd boasting every age under the Dallas umbrella, there are little to no bars like the Stoneleigh P. I always enjoy sitting under the shade provided by the trees that hang over their patio on a nice spring day and noshing on their pretty tasty sandwiches and occasional daily gazpacho special. Their service is always very friendly and prompt. But the best thing of all is the dog friendly patio. I know all you dog lovers out there can relate. Not only do they allow dogs, but they actually LOVE your dogs as well -- almost more than their customers. Their tap selection is not so extensive but has a good range featuring Ugly Pug and Stella to Fat Tire and Bass Ale. Sometimes when you've had a rough day at work, you want to go to a spot where the bartender can tell you need a double just by looking at you. That's what I got at Stoneleigh P, and I couldn't be happier. The menu is basic bar stuff. I haven't eaten a lot of it, so I can't comment directly there. However, the drinks are well-made and they have a pretty good rotation of beers. This is a relaxed place to go when you want to unwind. I wouldn't come here expecting the greatest service or the best food - it has a more casual, relaxed vibe. That may not be what you're wanting or expecting in this area. Came with 8-10 friends to try the burgers. As cow-aficionados, we were less than impressed. We weren't asked how we wanted the burgers cooked, and that's a shame. Every single patty was over salted and way over-done. Within the group, we tried every variation Stoneleigh P's could throw at us. I had the bacon/bluecheese/etc action, and didn't taste either one. Between you and me, if I'm going to clog my arteries I want some flavor satisfaction in return. My compatriots agreed. The pumpernickel bun was reportedly tasty, and most of us got extra garlic mayo after I read about it here. I was not really happy with this place on Saturday night. I had really enjoyed it in the past, but only had been in a few times so I guess this time was a deciding factor for me. I'm placing this joint on probation and in all honesty, I doubt I will EVER be back again with the GF. After an exciting day of perusing historic Main Street in Grapevine, we sauntered over here to try our hand at a burger and nachos as a late night snack to absorb previously quaffed vodka tonics and whatever else was ingested. I ordered the standard Stoneligh burger and she went with the Smoked chicken nachos, which in all terms, sounded delicious. Both items came out dry, overcooked, flavorless and, oh did I mention dry? The meat had no seasoned taste at all and the bun, while interesting (think it was rye?) was a cool touch, the only thing I got from eating the burger was the mayo or whatever dressing was on the bun. The nachos received a grand total of 3 bites, before she put down the napkin and said "ridiculous" and walked away. I grabbed a chip, filled with the chicken, cheese and beans and took a bite and said the same. Nothing but cardboard on that chip. Boooo Hisssssss. Atmosphere was fine- very chill. Service was excellent for us so no complaints there. Shiner Bock was served very cold! Food wise- yuck. Maybe I had a standard in my head that this was supposed to be better, but my expectations were not met. This is a bar where one goes to drink. That may sound redundant, but if we're being honest with ourselves, when we go out to a bar (especially in Uptown) we're more focused on the crowd, the music, or the hot bartender. At "The P" you don't need to worry about any of that. It's a refreshingly classic bar in a neighborhood seriously in love with itself. A pretty chill.place. Nothing fancy, more of your no frills bar. The waitress said they make everything fresh and in house so that's a plus. Our waitress has been nice and very efficient. I ordered the turkey sandwich based off a review and I ended up getting a cup of soup instead of chips or whatever. I loved the sandwich. It was fresh and just the right amount of turkey and toppings with garlic mayo. Nice! I originally got the tortilla but it was a bit salty for my liking with the turkey sandwich which already was salty but not too. So I ended up going with the black bean soup which was perfect. I love their tortilla chips too. They were nice and hearty. I could see myself coming back. Good food. Will try more items. If I could give it 3.5 stars, I would. First and foremost this place is a bar. A bar with some history in a cool building and great patio.Their beer is cold and drinks well poured. They've got a small but good rotating selection of drafts and Coors and the like in cans. Prices are reasonable and they make a killer hamburger with decent fries (skip the rest of the menu). The atmosphere here, like the bartenders and regulars, is pretty laid back. Table service is a little uneven. Often it seems that the wait person must have just walked off the street and was handed an apron. Don't let that harsh your buzz, just consider it part of the charm. read more
