We were on a weekend getaway to Burlington and discovered this cute pizza place near our AirBnb. I absolutely loved their eclectic menu with so many interesting and different pizza combinations. It was SO hard to decide - I wish I could have gotten them all! I ended up getting the elote pizza, which had a white sauce base, spicy chilis, a corn mix, and a delicious sweet drizzle. It was incredible! My husband has a lactose and gluten intolerance, and was thrilled to find options for a gluten free crust and dairy free cheese! We ordered takeout, but when we stopped by to pick up our pizza, we found service to be fast and friendly, and the indoor space in the restaurant to be super cute as well. A solid 4.5 stars for me. Super cute decor and gorgeous patio when the weather is nice. Pizza is delicious, if a little pricey, but it's well made with great ingredients so I say you get what you pay for. Somewhat limited menu but in a good way, if that makes sense. No overthinking things--you're there for great pizza and salads. They don't have a huge inside space if the weather isn't good but they make it work. I'll definitely be back! read more

Not your normal pizza joint. Everything was amazing! Both regular cheese and specialty pizzas were so delicious! They had great gluten free and vegan options. Beautifully decorated with comfortable and inviting seating both indoors and outdoors. The service was excellent. They made you feel like family. Ordered pickup of three pizzas from here - a large pepperoni and a large cheese, and a small vegan pizza with pesto. I thought the crust was super good it was light and fluffy but also crispy. The pepperonis were huge and I like that. I thought the vegan pizza was very well put together and creative and I love that they put pesto on it. It tasted kind of bland though and the sun dried tomatoes on top created a weird chewy texture, could have definetely used more seasoning and better toppings to create a pizza with harmonious flavor. Just tried the new place in Jericho- Confusing to call in an Order, just answer the phone!!!!! I don't want to hear prompts of which shop to order from- I prefer a bit of char on my pizza, and I ask specifically for them to cook my pizza extra, I don't care for raw pizza dough- When I pick up My pepperoni cheese pizza, I immediately looked to see how it was cooked- definitely not for how I asked, the cashier asked if I had a problem-? Yes, I specifically ask to cook the pizza extra- she was rather flip, and replied she wrote it down, no further comment- was charged 3% to use my card, also a mandatory 17.5% service charge- have to read the service charge memo at the bottom of the in line menu ! What-!!! $29.00 for a large pepperoni pizza!!! The pizza was good over all, better if they had the cook I had asked for- pepperoni was very good- At $29.00 the pizza should be cooked as order! Right now I am on the fence about going back- I guess I understand the service charge, but not really- their brief service???? Wasn't very good and I found it rude! I think I should have a choice on the tip for service at strictly take out- I am not a cheap tipper when good service is delivered without attitude! The staff was friendly and welcoming, but the pizza was very disappointing. It had a lot of potential. The Nomad and the Caruso are very different pizzas on paper, but tasted the same. The pizza was basically undercooked and was honestly just bland. With that amount and diversity of ingredients, pizza should not be that much of a vibe killer. Founded by the same, fine Vermonters from the Fairfax location, Stone's Throw in Richmond is a welcomed addition to the just-east-of-Burlington-but-too-far-to-drive scene. I heard about this place from my physical therapist,who is a straight-up pepperoni pizza guy. But he came with gluten-free, dairy-free people, tried their pizzas, and said they were good, too. Started off by enjoying a truly excellent salad with light-but-crispy fresh greens and perfectly-pickled carrots that make you wish the salad never had to end. I am absolutely in love with the tahini dressing, but my husband was this close to insisting his creamy dill was the better choice. After much debate--all of the specialty pizzas sound so good! -- we ordered the Nomad in a gluten-free crust. I'll be frank: I didn't love the gluten-free crust, but I've yet to find one that I do like. And it was a bit burnt on my first slice. The leeks tasted garden-fresh. The kimchee tasted like the real thing, and I found myself actually peeking in the kitchen for a kinsman. And the glazed pork belly? The worst I can say about it is that there was not enough of it. If I was giving stars based just on the pizza , it might be a 4-star review. the bar manager was super nice and helpful, gave us a little sample of the wine when we weren't sure it's extremely hot inside the restaurant and the only table was in front of a giant speaker where a guy was playing a harmonica so we chose to sit outside We got the caruso (red sauce) and nomad (white sauce). I wanted to love the pizza as the toppings sounded creative but it fell really flat. biggest thing was the crust was so soft we all peeled it apart to see if it was cooked through LOL caruso just tastes like a spicy pineapple tomato sauce, bacon was there but didn't taste the saltiness or smokiness that you would expect. the basil was flavorless and they should use thai basil instead I was soooo excited for the nomad but was actually a bit ridiculous. I don't think kimchi means carrots lol? Also. The drizzled egg yolk was tasteless and barely there. Meh. Disappointed. Really skimpy with the toppings. I ordered a large pepperoni with roasted red onions, 1/2 kalamata olives, and 1/2 fresh mushrooms. I could literally count 15 little slices of olive.. there were so few that it stuck out! Same with the other toppings except the big pepperonis. I like places that put whole or half kalamata olives on their pizza, not just a few little little bits of it. The couple mushrooms and red onions on the pizza were tasty... I wish there were more especially for the price. Maybe this place isn't the right "style" of pizzeria for me... guess I'm a traditionalist and believe that pizza toppings should be generous. Also the crust was so-so... I prefer a little charred and chewy... this was too "light and airy" and bland than I care for. I got it take out and had a 15 minute drive home so that might have been part of it too idk. Reheated in the toaster oven wasn't much better. My meh pizza cost $26! I live in Bolton and there are very limited local options for pizza... but I definitely won't order here again. Worth the drive to Waterbury or Burlington. read more

Weirdest experience I've ever had. I'm in town as a travel nurse and wanted some pizza. I decided to walk in and I asked the girl if I could sit outside (sun was out finally) and she said, "you won't get table service if you sit outside, you will have to order and then come back when your food is ready." I told her I'll sit down inside and I was seated in a dark corner. The place was empty. I sat there for 15 minutes and finally stood up and said I was ready to order. The girl then said, "oh you come to the front when you want to order." What kind of table service is this?? On top of no one taking your order at the table, there's a notice on the menu that states there will be a 17.5% gratuity on every order for fair wages. So poor service, why would I tip that amount?? Perfect excuse for minimalistic work effort. I was excited to try this place, but I ended up walking out instead and not ordering at the front. I will not be coming back. read more

This spot in Richmond is a great place for a date night! We settled into a little table in the back (the vibe inside is casual, but rustic & thoughtful!) and proceeded to order 3 small pizzas (we wanted to try a sample of their pies!) and two glasses of red wine. The pizzas were delicious, crust is extremely light, and exactly what I look for -- soft on the inside, crispy on the outside, and not too thick! Honestly, the cheese was my favorite. My husband and I went to Stone's Throw last weekend. They have done an incredible job rehabbing the One Radish space. You walk in and it isn't a crowded entryway like it used to be. There is open space and it is so welcoming. Beautiful poured concrete (I think?) countertops and super neat bar stools. Very chill environment. The service was prompt and courteous. Good beer options and a wine list with pizza pairing ideas. Non alcoholic beverages also available. Pizza was delicious! We each ordered a 12" pie because we were keen on different toppings. My husband had Hunter and I had Homesteader, image attached. Both were delicious and I had a few leftover slices for dinner the following night (hubs ate all of his)! We saw a few folks come in to pick up pies- so they do take out orders too, which is awesome. Also, I might be wrong- but I think you can buy pizza by the slice. As a native New Yorker- pizza by the slice has been my white whale here in VT. I look forward to returning a whole lot! I'm so excited about this place and I have told a bunch of folks that pass through on Route 2 as they head to ski @ Bolton or Stowe. Our first couple of visits were disappointing; the array of toppings were interesting but the pizza had a scant amount of them. Worst was the crust -- overcooked and like cardboard. Granted, they had just barely opened so maybe hadn't worked out all the start-up kinks. Tonight we decided to give it another try; We're glad we did! We kept it simple: red sauce with pepperoni and mozzarella. It was perfect: the crust was thin and beautifully cooked, with soft interior and crispy exterior. The pepperoni was smoky and far less greasy than the discs of lesser-quality kinds usually found on pizzas. Smooth, creamy mozzarella rounds melted into the red sauce. Delicious!
