Pork tenderloin

Very quaint little place in a remodeled house. Nice patio seating available as well. The service was top notch from the greeters at the door to the servers and waitresses. The food is great and imaginative. Highly recommend the crostini. It was very tasty. The pork tenderloin were cooked perfectly and served on some white beans that complemented them. Great little place I'd go back to

What an amazing find! We stumbled upon this lovely restaurant and are so glad we did! It is set in a beautiful house and garden. Has a lovely locally sourced menu. We enjoyed the cucumber soup and the tomato Burrata as well as the macaroni and cheese and the special, mushroom ravioli with scallops. The finale was the Matilda cake. Delicious all the way round!

Corned beef hash, pancakes, hash browns, biscuit and eggs

Stopped for brunch on our road trip through Vermont and was SO glad we did. My son says the pancakes were possibly the best he's had. I can attest that they were very fluffy and would highly recommend. The corned beef hash was wonderful, and that biscuit??? Just do it. Everything was great and the staff was super friendly and welcoming. Loved the feel of the place. Feels like you're eating in someone's home. Not overly crowded or noisyIf you are in the area.... Put this on your stops!

The food and service here is simply amazing. I attended a friends rehearsal dinner here and couldn't have been more impressed. The banquet menu was absolutely phenomenal. The restaurant delivered the farm to table menu very well and this was actually the best meal I had in Vermont. The appetizers were very good and passed frequently. My favorite part of the meal was the entree, the butchers steak, which was very tender and just melted in your mouth. I sadly only took pictures of the dessert, but I must say the apple cake was the group favorite. The banquet menu is to die for so I can only imagine how delicious the seasonal menus are. I hope to be able to try them someday in the not to distant future!

The Kitchen Table Bistro was one of the most amazing meals that we have had in Vermont! Why didn't we think of this earlier? Eating a farm to table meal in Vermont! Which was one of the fine states where farm to table was happening everyday, long before "farm-to-table" ever became a movement! Food. OMG the food! We ordered the candy-striped beet with fried brussel sprouts salad, half of dozen of Malpeque oysters, steak tartare, roasted pork shoulder, apple-cider mussels, and chicken liver pate. The food was so delicious! I would order everything again, except for maybe the pork shoulder. That was a little dry. Location. The Kitchen Table Bistro (KTB) is located right by the highway in Richmond. In the dark, you don't even see the signs, so it looks like you are pulling up to someone's large house. We all asked each other if we were in the right place, but the 20 cars in the parking lot (and Google maps) confirmed that we were. Ambience The restaurant is located on the first floor. The Bistro has 3 small dining rooms and a large area for the bar. The restaurant is so charming, with wooden panels and sturdy wood dining tables and chairs. The waiter was wonderful, so polite and gave great beer recommendations. (Vermont beer is awesome!) Food. My favorites were the oysters and the chicken liver pate. The Malpeque oysters were these cold plump, briny oysters. My brother, who never had a raw oyster said 'That was really good!' Yes! It was amazing! Some of the best oysters that I've ever had. And the homemade champagne-mignonette was perfectly sour-sweet accompaniment. The homemade ketchup was a vinegared ketchup, and very good. I would use the homemade mignonette or eat the oysters on their own. The oysters didn't need any help being delicious. The chicken liver pate was smooth as silk and glided on my tongue. It was perfect with the mustard sauce or by itself. K closed his eyes to enjoy this wonderful mouthful. I wished we ordered two! One for me and one for my dining companions. The candy-striped beet were these perfectly tender roasted sweet white and red striped beet cubes. So good. And the fried brussel sprouts were very addictive. K, me and my brother kept helping ourselves to this dish until it was gone! The unami-sweet steak tartare was bright cherry-red and topped with a sunshine-yellow quail egg. The steak was a coarsely ground and tasted grass fed. It was so good. We all kept scooping the tartare on crispy bbq flavored chips and going 'MMMmmm!' The steak tartare came with a salad. A bonus was K got to try a Vermont delicacy: fiddleheads! And he liked it! The apple-cider mussels were perfectly plump and had the best sauce! We kept dipping the crispy toasted garlic bread into the sweet-savory cheesy sauce. Amazing amazing meal. The only reason that the food wasn't perfectly executed was due to the very dry all-day roasted pork shoulder. The polenta was velvety and the roasted baby turnips were so savory sweet! I was saddened by the dry beautifully rubbed pork. I will definitely be back to sample their ever changing seasonal menu! Thank you Kitchen Table Bistro!

Lovely tomato salad appetizer at The Kitchen Table Bistro.

Friday evening, we enjoyed dinner at The Kitchen Table Bistro. Enjoyed is an understatement. We've dined at KTB many times over the years, and have always experienced a memorable meal. I thought I'd settled in on the Gnocchi until our server mentioned the evening special - all-day short ribs over a summer veg medley. She had me at all-day short ribs. I was not disappointed - meat was fall off the bone tender and oh so flavorful. As long as we live here, we'll keep returning.

My Mom and I are staying a local B&B in Jericho - this restaurant came highly recommended by the two owners; everything was absolutely beyond delicious. Our waitress Kimberly was one of the best waitresses I've ever had, I told her this meal was one of the top meals {start to finish, including the wine} that I have ever had. If you are in the area, you NEED to come to The Kitchen Table Bistro. I love that everything is farm to table! If we are ever back in Vermont, we will definitely come back to this local gem.

Frankie's - Trout

We had a group of six, so they sat us in the private room on the second floor. Very friendly staff and the service was great. We tried a variety of cocktails, all unique in their own ways. As everything on the menu sounded delicious and the menu rotates, we decided to order almost one of each item and share plates. They paced the delivery of the dishes, so we got to enjoy them a few at a time. With the exception of one unremarkable vegetarian dish, we loved everything we tasted. We skipped dessert, as we filled up on the small plates and main dishes. We'll definitely return to this restaurant.

Burlington local, first time going to Frankie's. Only hear good things about it…read more Pros: service, quality/freshness of food The service was top notch from when we first entered until we left. We were immediately greeted and seated. They helped take our coats/hang them for us. We were always closely attended to and given time if more was needed. The homemade pasta dish we got with greens and mushrooms was fantastic! My bf liked the shrimp appetizer/smaller dish and we all liked the trout, but it seemed a little mushy/overcooked. Cons: loud/bad acoustics, dim, portion size(only for one specific dish) A little hard to hear inside when it's at peak capacity. Was at dinner with a group of four and it was quite hard to hear the person diagonally across from me the entire night. Lighting was a little too dim for my personal liking but others may not mind(for example, it was darker inside than it was outside at 6pm). Food was overall very good. The disappointments were a clam dish we couldn't even first find any clams in and then the two people who got them when we divided up the dish only got two each! And the side greens, seemed overcooked and were over-salted. Would definitely try it again would recommend to others.

You're in the very suburban town of Lebanon, New Hampshire. You've got everything that you need at…read moreyour fingertips but maybe you're looking to enjoy wine or sip a cocktail at a place with more of an urban edge. Drive 5 minutes over the state line to Putnam's in White River Junction, Vermont for that sommelier-staffed experience. Love the ambience and rigorous focus on elevated, quality ingredients, at Putnam's. They have a corkboard-covered 3-ring binder menu which is aptly named a Field Guide. Trust me, this name is earned by the Tasting Notes alone. The field guide is like a thesis for advanced Upper Valley sippers, Vermont or not. If you forgot your book or paper, just saddle up to the Putnam's Field Guide. You'll find an elaborate offering of editorial descriptions of beverages from wine to martinis (6 kinds) to beer and whiskey (one from Japan). Btw, it's rare to find a wine bar that doubles as a gorgeous coffeehouse serving pastries, espresso-based drinks, teas and breakfast sandwiches on weekends. I'm looking forward to enjoying them sometime if I'm back. The offering at Putnam's Vineyard rotates seasonally, so I will describe what was there on my visits. Visit their website for updated menu surprises. As for the evening and weekends Fall menu, they call their offering Picnic Food. It's a modest title for an extensive offering of appetizers and a few sandwiches. Think fancied-up olives, pretzels, Brazilian cheese puffs, a craft beer mix, 2 melty sammies with Vermont cheeses (1 with turkey, the other veggies), beet and chevre arancini, dips and a vast selection of desserts. Vermont cheeses, apricots, Marcona almonds, dried apricots and crostini are looking divine on the cheese board. Oh, and there's also Superbon Madrid potato chips with Osetra caviar and a mini spirit of Gaston Chiquet champagne. Just saying. There is also a weekend brunch menu with bagels and egg sandwiches. As for the wine, I recommend a flight at Putmam's. In the fall season, these flight offerings were named: the Bella Blanca Wine Flight, the Falling Leaves Mixed Wine Flight, Fireside Reds Red Wine Flight, The Forgotten Bunches Mixed Wine Flight and the almighty and an unforgettable Sparkler Flight. In this flight, I slowly savoured 3 wine sparklers at $25 total. (And no, I cannot spell savour without a "u.") These wine flights are a true value. And here are the wines in the sparkler flight: 1.) Cava 2021 by Avinyó 2.) Crémant de Bourgogne Sparkling Brut Rosé NV by Albert Bichot 3.) Lambrusco by Villa Castellazo ROTA The Cava is everything. All three were delightful and I showed up needing warm fuzzies on an evening where there was live music so the total experience was extra lovely. There is also a whiskey flight! The coffee and craft beverages selection for the fall/winter menu includes a nitro cold brew, a brown butter latte with Maldon sea salt and biscotti and a FROLA New Orleans style cold brew slushie with maple syrup and coconut cream. To any craft and coffee beverage you can add Vermont Ice Cream Coffee Liqueur or Whistle Pig Piggy Back Bourbon. Yes, please. If you are making a trip of it, catch the local bbq joint across the way from Putnam's at lunch and then visit the wine bar for drinks. Layer up, because I've been nippy there twice, and then linger over one delightful beverage after the next. Oh, and there is a charming wine shop at Putnam's with handmade gifts to peruse, as well.
