Crusty sourdough bread and home churned butter made with crème fraiche.
    Linda K.

We found a cozy, warm ambiance. Our clothed table was set by a bright window. For starters, we ordered crispy sour dough bread and silky home churned butter made with crème fraiche; we shared clams in a divine broth with bread provided to soak up the broth; our trout with wilted bok choi and raw spinach was as fresh as your own catch right out of the lake; for my birthday dessert, I had affogato all'Amaro (toasted vanilla gelato complemented by an Italian herbed liqueur I'd never heard of, but was very interesting). I ordered a local hoppy beer with grapefruit notes. Quinn was our very able and congenial server. This was our best meal in Burlington.

Such an amazing dinner. The food was incredibly fresh. The menu changes daily based on what's available from the farm. The gem salad had a lemony, refreshing dressing. The tortelli was also super fresh and light. The mashed potatoes were unreal--a must-order. The chocolate mousse dessert was delicious; you could taste the cherry in the whipped cream. Friendly service, a super cool bar countertop, great vibes--just an all-around fantastic dinner.

The best fish of my life in a slightly spicy broth.

Food and our server were excellent. We ordered several things and they were all so good. It wasn't too fancy, but you could dress up for a nice night. It had elements of upscale dining, without feeling stuffy. Again, the food, SO GOOD. I ate too fast to even take pictures.

Roast Chicken w/ grilled cabbage and chicken jus

I now have a new favorite restaurant to visit when I come to Burlington on business...A beautiful establishment that is warm and inviting. As for the food, I only had one dish, but it was exactly what I needed on a cold fall evening...Get the roast chicken!! It is sinfully delicious. I can't wait to come back and try more!

I loved it. We didn't have reservations but we didn't have to wait too long for a couple seats at the bar. I loved the ambiance and decor, the dried flowers give it an extra touch. The service was second to none and the food was delicious. The bartenders were wonderful, extremely knowledgeable and made the most impressive cocktails. I loved the Rubin Carter. My daughter and I enjoyed every dish we tried. They even made the cabbage side dish off the charts. The little neck clams and endive salad were a couple of my favorites but we could have ordered 6 of the cabbage side dishes and been totally content with that, it was so good. I'm really looking forward to coming back with my husband. We both cook on the extravagant side, so it's tough to venture out to the unknown. Having said that, I can't wait to go back. I highly recommend it!!

This place is amazing. Came here for work and a local recommended this. Every bite was 10/10. The sauces with each dish were especially delicious.

Great service and cold drinks, had a great time watching England Norway game. Sat at bar and enjoyed banter with wait staff.

We were warmly greeted, and they inquired if we were there for a table/bar seating, or the retail shop. We sat at the bar, and there were other customers at tables enjoying a glass and engrossed in conversation. They offer a small snack menu, along with a selection of wines, and they have a good knowledge and will provide counsel on the options. We ordered the ricotta toast and the lonzo, a ham similar to prosciutto. Both were delicious! The lonzo comes with a drizzle of quality olive oil on top, and a sprinkle of salt, and a dab of mustard. The ricotta toast (no pic sorry) was also tasty. The space leans to industrial loft, but is warm and invites conversations and relaxation. The shop also has a retail space, and a monthly wine club subscription is an option. It is separated from the restaurant, but not a quirk of their shop, but archaic Vermont liquor laws. We decide to subscribe and picked up our first selections to take home.

We sat at the bar for glasses of wine with lots of treats: a bowl of yummy olives, fancy tinned fish, bresaola, mind-blowing new award-winning blue cheese from Jasper Hill (withersbrook) and a cherry, tomato, almond, burratini salad...all served with slices of excellent bread. Perfect accompaniments to each plate: lemon and garlic with the fish, cherry conserves with the cheese, etc... We'll be back again and again, with friends in tow.

This super quaint, but fun bar is the perfect place for a glass or two of natural wines. And, if you don't know much about natural wines the employees sure do. They can tell you about almost all the wines they serve and the best part...You can buy them right there as well. Yes, that's right! Due to their license you can sip and shop their selections. We enjoyed it so much that we ended up going twice. They had a tasting on Sunday where they opened up a few bottles and you get to try them all, for only $5 so it was a steal. I ended up bringing how a red wine from California. They also have small plates. We ended up sharing their olives and marcona almonds. This is also a great place for groups since they have plenty of tables towards the back of the bar. I can't wait to come back here. Cheers~

We had the Margherita, Capricciosa, Caesar salad, and the Nutella pizza and flourless cake for dessert. Kids devoured their Margherita slices and we really enjoyed the acidic, salty, roasted, crusty, chewy, fluffy, perfectly balanced notes of the artichoke, olive, tomato, and cheese Capriciossa. I know Caesar is a boring choice but sometimes the stomach wants what it wants, and this one was worth noting; I especially enjoyed the little nub of chewy pizza dough bread with it. I got it anchovy-less, because I don't love crunching on the little dudes, personally. Accessible entrance for wheels is around the back via a ramp in the alley--there's a doorbell for entry. They provided crayons and a coloring sheet for kids which always wins me over instantly, and were highly aware and educated around food allergies and their menu. 5/5 and an easy recommendation all around.

It didn't take long to identify the state's core competencies: Producing world-class cheese Perfecting brick oven pizza Aggressively curating a very specific political vibe Curiously, only two of those things are edible, and unfortunately, you can't get pizza without being reminded of the third. Also worth noting: I'm not convinced any other style of pizza exists in Vermont. If it's not artisanal, wood-fired, and served on a reclaimed barn board, it apparently doesn't make the cut. So naturally, my brain locked in and I ate pizza two nights in a row like a creature of habit. Night 1: Pizzeria Verità Parking was...aspirationally convenient. After navigating downtown Burlington, which feels like a live-action sociology thesis, I made it inside. Let's address the elephant in the room: the price. With tip, I dropped nearly $30 for what amounted to a personal-sized pepperoni pizza that politely declined to fill me up. I assume part of the cost goes toward sourcing ethically massaged tomatoes or ensuring the mozzarella had a fulfilling upbringing. Now, to be fair, the pizza was excellent. Truly. Great crust, quality ingredients, clearly crafted by someone who cares deeply about their art. But the value? That's where things get a little...Vermont. Delicious? Absolutely. Filling? Not quite. Financially efficient? Only if you measure wealth in vibes. I went in skeptical, left impressed, and still had to consider a second dinner.

Before everyone arrived, I went in to ask if we could be accommodated. The first hostess said yes, as long as we split into two separate tables. Five minutes later when everyone arrived, another hostess refused to seat us, saying they couldn't accommodate relatively large groups on weekends. We explained that we were happy to split into two or three separate tables, with no more than 3-4 people at each table, and that no tables needed to be rearranged. The answer was still no. The biggest issue wasn't the policy--it was the way it was handled. The hostess rolled her eyes and treated us with a surprising lack of professionalism and respect. If this was truly the restaurant's policy, it should have been communicated consistently from the start and by all staff to all the other customers too. Our group has been dining together at restaurants around the area almost every day over the past few weeks, and we've never been treated this way anywhere else. We left and took our business elsewhere.
