The drinks are expertly crafted (with or without alcohol), the jazz is smooth and never too loud, and the vintage lounge atmosphere makes it perfect for a date or a quiet night out. Service is warm, the music is live, and the vibes are unbeatable. Burlington doesn't have many places like this--don't miss it.

Incredible, kind, thoughtful - best in the business!…read more We hired The 126 as the bartenders for our wedding - if you are looking for a similar service, look no more. Karen and her team were incredible, providing exceptional service leading up to and including the day of the wedding. The signature cocktail menu they created was delicious, fun, unique, and memorable - managing to somehow mirror each drink with a non-alcoholic version to accommodate our sober selves, friends, and family. We still are getting feedback on just how wonderful the drinks were. Side note, every single bartender Karen brought with her, was so kind to me, had lovely things to say, chatted, joked, and just overall created such a good vibe, that the party wouldn't have been the same without them. We've gone to this bar for years because of the great mocktail service, and it was so wonderful to have them at our wedding, providing the same great service they have for years. Affordable, exceptional, and memorable will be the keywords sticking in your mind when you work with them!

It was a gorgeous day and we were able to sit outside, which I really enjoyed. They were umbrellas above us, which were much needed when it started to drizzle! I enjoyed the waiter, although my wife did not. He talked a lot and everything I asked him was his favorite. It didn't seem genuine. Especially when the table sat down next to us and everything they wanted or was his favorite too. We were disappointed that the one thing we wanted on the menu was not available for food. They're mocktails were a normal price and their cocktails were a little pricey, but well worth it for the craft that they were doing. I enjoyed both of the cocktails that I had, although was disappointed that they didn't have the monkey brains cocktail that I wanted anymore. Overall, it was a cute place and I'd probably go back to have a cocktail.

An Exquisite Culinary Experience…read more Rogue Rabbit in Burlington is nothing short of exquisite. I rate places by their category, and this one earns my highest marks in the three most important categories: food, drinks, and overall experience very fun casual atmosphere. The pizza was a masterpiece. Thick, insanely fresh dough was complemented by a decadently sweet-savory tomato sauce and topped with a perfect combination of savory sausage, sweet onion, and ricotta. Simply scrumptious. The drink menu is tight but brilliantly creative. I started with the Good Catastrophe (Brandy, Italicus, Lemon, Turbines, Orange Bitters)--exquisite. I followed it with the mind-blowing Via Con Dio (Rye, Ramazotti, Honey, Strawberry and espresso). Topping all this off was the wait staff and Mary, a wizard/artist at drink mixing. The staff and the patrons made this, along with the food and drink, one of the best holistic dining experiences I've had in years. Astounding and exquisite.

The bar is kind of dark, and it gives an old school kind of vibe. Be sure to check out when the specials are. It's got lots of daily ones. These can be big time money savers. It's $7 for margaritas on Mondays. Maybe these aren't that big, but these can be pretty strong. Food menu isn't as impressive. It's $9 for the Blistered Shishito Peppers. Probably the healthiest food item, because the rest is mostly greasy fried things. Good hot flavor. They also have chicken tenders if looking for meats. For a bar in the middle of town it seems pretty quiet inside. It's farther away from the college, so maybe that could be a reason. The prices are pretty good on drinks and food, and it's not crowded most times.

There's no other small music venue I have been too that has the same ambience and vibe as Light Club. They wrangle in some pretty great artists both local and touring (seen loads of friends here as well as Sean Watkins of Nickelcreek and Tom Brosseau plus found a host of new favorites). Food is from next door at Duino and it's fantastic. Beer list is pretty good (all bottles and cans) and the drink menu is inventive and delicious. They just recently opened up and raise the two front tables by the window which I am still indifferent about. I thought it was cool before because people could "take in" the music but still have a quiet conversation without being rude to the performers. Need to check out another show there before making that call. I love this room whether its packed or it's just me, the performer and the bartender (which sadly has happened before). Burlington just needs to get out and see more music and this is the place to do it.

Wow, what a transformation from when we last came to Burlington and having breakfast at Penny…read moreCluse, we were pleasantly surprised to find highly recommended Frankie's in the same location! The same large, beautiful windows are there, but the decor is warm, trendy, and modern. Our hostess immediately wished my husband and me happy anniversary and the bartender team Max and Woody were truly outstanding and made our celebration special. They are adept at making cocktails. We tried Blue Bingo and Inside Out. Both were perfectly balanced. The Blue Bingo with fresh blueberry puree, garnished with blueberry and mint was refreshing. The Inside Out was similar to an Old Fashioned. We selected 4 small plates, one large plate, and one side. For small plates, the striped bass collar was meaty and flavored with an herb sauce and punchy blistered cherry tomatoes. The little neck clams came in a broth that was worth sopping up with the grilled sourdough. It was similar to having mussels in a luscious wine butter sauce. I would have eaten like 12 of the clams if they let me but they alas only give you 6. My favorite was grilled Romano beans, slightly crunchy, fresh, and light, with burrata and fried green tomatoes. The breading on the tomatoes was perfectly light and crunchy. The burrata was delicious, and I would have preferred to have it over the barchetta, fresh ravioli like pastas that came with fennel and arugula. The barchetta was missing that creamy element. The served our pork schnitzel as a "splitzel" served cut in half on two plates. Again, it was perfectly crunchy and light. We ordered pomme puree (mashed potatoes) as a side too, creamy and delicious. They had a decent wine and beer selection. We lucked out with our chenin blanc selection, which paired well with everything we had. Eat here! The menu changes every day. We can't wait to come back.

Each menu is date-stamped, which I'm obsessed with--it's a great reminder of how fresh everything is. Vermont generally has a great local food scene, and I really appreciate the thoughtfulness behind the ingredients, presentation, and overall quality. Frankie's is a restaurant I'd highly recommend for groups, family dinners, date nights, or even corporate dinners. I'd love to come back and explore more of their wine selection. The staff is incredibly welcoming, happy to chat, and very knowledgeable about the menu. Expect to spend around $75 per person for a meal, a side or appetizer, and one drink.

I was a little hesitant coming here because great food is just as important to me as great drinks,…read moreand the menu was very limited. The menu listed only two mains: a "Charred Oat Burger" and a "Short Rib Toastie" in addition to two salads and four "shareables". I believe there were one or two specials that day as well, one being Steak Frites. But the food reviews were good and the drink reviews were great so I decided to go. Even if I had second thoughts the welcome from Bob the bartender when I entered (first customer when I arrived at 5:00 opening time) seemed so sincere that not staying was out of the question. I took my seat at the bar (supposedly rebuilt with materials from a bar in Ireland that closed). Bob was great, with an enthusiasm for great whiskey that he couldn't hide if he tried, and didn't seem to mind that I'm not enough of a connoisseur to have many opinions of my own. Between other customers that soon filled the place he kept me talking and I'm not much of a talker. About whiskey, where I'm from, Burlington in general, and he gave me some tips on some lesser-known Vermont attractions I didn't know about. Their whiskey collection was large and from many lands. Having just returned from Ireland I was pleased to see several I remember from my visit - not just the usual Jamesons here! I prefer a cocktail to straight whiskey though, so it was Sazeracs tonight. Two specialties. First the Rosemary's Sazerac: Bulleit Rye, rosemary syrup, Peychauds bitters, rinse of Laphroaig, torched rosemary sprig. My second was also a Sazerac: their Irish Sazerac, made with an Irish whiskey and other ingredients which I've forgotten. Both drinks were fantastic, generous with the alcohol, and made with attention to details like properly-sized ice cubes (large) and pre-chilled glasses. For food I got the "Charred Oak Burger." I don't know where the "oak" comes in. The only burger on the menu, it was made with two thin patties, a great quantity of whiskey & honey-glazed pork belly in large pieces, kimchi mayo, and a brioche bun. One of the most interesting burgers I've had in a long time. Even though it was a bit overstuffed more due to the pork belly than the patties I managed to eat it without it falling apart, a common problem with burgers. Instead of the fries it came with I elected to get the roasted Brussels sprouts instead, a special shareable of the day. I don't think I was charged extra even though it was a rather large portion. These were excellent too, sweet and bacony with no bitterness. As it got busier the noise level increased but only moderately. I liked the music playing, a mix of blues and energetic classic rock. Overhearing other conversations I could tell that these were discerning customers who took their whiskey seriously and asked detailed questions before settling on their choice of libation. Just two things on the dessert menu: Chocolate Overload and Caramel Sea Salt Cheesecake. I got the Overload: chocolate cake with Bailey's Irish Cream sauce. Nothing special but I enjoyed it; a nice way to finish the meal. It was big enough that I took about half home, along with half the Brussels sprouts. This is definitely a place I want to come back to. I wish the food menu was more extensive but that burger and sprouts were so good I could see repeating the same menu again, trying new specialty cocktails next time.

There are a lot of things that I like about Orlando's when compared to other local bars…read more 1. Their mixed drinks are made consistently well. Many bars in the area pour especially strong or especially weak drinks that are not consistent, and that can make it hard to keep track of how much you're drinking. At Orlando's, the strength of my mixed drinks remains the same each time. The bartenders are professional, knowledgeable, and swift. 2. Their cocktail offerings are fun! They do some unique offerings with fun seasonal stuff that really gets you in the spirit of the season. Some other reviews mention that they don't have an extensive wine list-- it's not really that type of place. It's sort of like a classy pub, not a high end hotel bar. Expect to find cool cocktails and a moderate beer selection. 3. The vibes are cool! It's very speakeasy-underground-cool vibes. It's dark inside with old fashioned lamps and various types of seating, both at the bar and at tables. Some tables have old fashioned bar games at them like ring and hook. They have a stage for live music and a small space for dancing. I will say the one downside of Orlando's is that when they're doing music, either live or over speakers, it's so loud that it's hard to be social there.
