My absolute favorite bar in Burlington! They have a wider selection of arcade games (pinball, classic cabinet games, shooters) than most arcades and barcades, but that's not the only thing Archives has to offer. The bar has a sophisticated and chill ambience that gives almost a speakeasy-type vibe and the bartenders are always extremely friendly and attentive. To top it off, they have a vast selection of delicious (and fairly cheap) local beers and exceptional cocktails. My go-to is either a Hill Farmstead Edward or a Tanquerey negroni to sip on while I explore their games and feed my nostalgia. NOTE: they clear the high scores on each game every day so you may get a nice confidence boost seeing your score in the top 3.

Arcade bar in downtown Burlington with a super cool vibe. They have a long bar in the center and then arcade games all around. We just went for a drink and they have really great cocktails. I got a vodka drink and it was delicious. Super chill bar and if you like games I would make a stop!

We have gone here a couple times as they make unique delicious drinks and playing the games is fun! Most games were working which is awesome as they are old and coins to play them are fair. Our bartender Thomas was beyond amazing at making us delicious drinks, laugh and going truly above and beyond to make our friends cold brew coffee something more to her liking! People don't do that these days and it was much appreciated!

Really fun spot, with vintage games and a nice selection of beers. We got 2 delicious local ones- sip of sunshine, and one that was more of a sour beer. It's cool how they have tables in between the games for resting your drink. I think it would be cooler if they added some more games to the selection- such as a basketball one, a Simpson one (a personal favorite), or a Donkey Kong one. It's a little heavy on the pinball games (that being said, they're really cool, fun, machines- like a South Park one), and the fighter games. Who knows, maybe I'm just mad I kept losing to my boyfriend at the fighter games :/.

Great bar! Was here last weekend for a bachelorette party. Drinks are affordable and worth it! Definitely worth playing the games for something different. Nice service friendly staff! Would go again! It could have been cleaner but it is a bar and it only appeared to have 2-3 staff members on the floor.

Both sides of gaming, pinball in the back and more games on the other side by bar.

Best Cocktails in Burlington!!! Fresh and creative cocktails that are absolutely delicious!!! The arcade is just the added bonus. If you are looking for amazing craft cocktails this is the place to go!! Loved every cocktail they made for us.

The bartender was pretentious and rude. I have never given a review on any platform, so this should speak for itself.

This is a pretty typical grungy-in-a-good-way Burlington bar. Its full of college kids and there's a pool table. If I remember correctly there's a tin ceiling which I guess makes the OP one of the more architecturally interesting college/dives in town. Since its on the fringe of downtown, the OP doesn't seem to get as rowdy as the bars on Church or Main.

The simple act of keeping a creep out of a bar is more than 90% of bars in America, but I am thankful the staff and in particular the bouncer cares about peoples safety. They are tolerant, but when someone's behavior is egregious and obviously dangerous or disruptive they intervene quickly and respectfully. The OP's regulars are some of the most charming and compassionate people you will find in Burlington. The bar is often full of artists, musicians, and people you will get along with if you're the creative type. The drinks are cheap, the staff is caring and most importantly this bar cares about people first. If you want to go somewhere where being a predator is chill, go somewhere else. Deep City was a recommendation for brunch from a local. It is the sister restaurant to Foam Brewers (right next door). When we walked in there was a small wait but not bad. We headed over to the brewery to grab coffee and to check it out. It is definitely a cool spot. They have a huge selection of beer, a small wine program (who knew) and small bites. Unfortunately they did not have TVs or else we would've come back to watch the football game but we did purchase some beer before heading back over for brunch at Deep City. The menu here is a little more Mexican-forward think Huevos Rancheros, but there was still plenty of items that looked appealing. We split the banana bread with maple walnut cream cheese (to die for) to share as an app which was fresh and delicious. I also ordered a fruit cup which was also good. We then shared their Huevos Verdes which is similar to Huevos Rancheros except it came with a tomatillo salsa. It was good but very sloppy to eat. Overall it was a great experience, and service was phenomenal. A great brunch place while visiting Burlington VT.

First of all, they have a parking lot, which is free to park in, which was super convenient. The menu is interesting and everything sounded so good, including the daily features (duck hash, yum)! It made it super difficult to decide what to order, but we eventually settled on the biscuits and herb gravy, the across the pond, a side of the cheesy kale, the polenta breakfast dish, and the trout and eggs. Our server was super patient and kind and the food was amazing. I don't usually like biscuits and gravy that much, but their vegetarian gravy was so tasty. It reminded me a bit of broccoli cheddar soup in the best way, and the biscuits were flaky. I'd had the English breakfast plate at Penny Cluse before, and this one was even better. I loved the mushrooms and the sausage. The cornmeal crusted trout on the trout and eggs plate was crispy and not fishy at all, and the best trout I've ever tried. I loved that everything we ordered was so saucy since I'm a big sauce girl. This place is high on my list to revisit when I'm back in Burlington!
