Nota 5 start place, but a 5 start experience more or less. Comfy, inviting atmosphere. And pretty good, mainly because of the people. Hannah, the barkeep for the night, was this mix of laid back professionalism. The patrons added a nice vibe. I'm glad I went. Food is college kid variety in my opinion: burgers, dogs, fried egg on a tortilla. Nothing sophisticated; great stuff for some. Overall, I'd recommend and will go again.

Awesome ambiance, ample seating (and window seating!), and some of the cheapest finds in the area! Amazing food and SO excited to say their impossible burger is just as good as a beef burger good variety of beers and loved the loaded tots! #orderatthebar

Stopped for some snacks at Mule Bar, mostly because we saw poutine on the menu and wanted to make sure we had it during our Burlington trip. The man at the bar was welcoming, and we sat down at the counter against the window with a nice view of Winooski and the park across the street. The poutine was good, though we do feel we've had better. The Mule Bar was a good stop for what we were looking for.

For my beverage, I ordered a root beer, which was the best root beer I have ever tasted. For my main entrées, I had a fantabulous corn dog and dry-rub chicken wings, which were well-seasoned and incredibly delicious. The vibe was pretty chill, and the servers were very responsive and upbeat.

I'm a fan of mules so I had to stop here to at least try one. Had the pineapple mule and it was delicious. The girls bartending were so nice and conversed with me since I was solo at the bar. A nice regular who later sat at the bar also said to try the clam chowder, which they won awards for, but I didn't try it since I just had bfast. Decor is dope very unique. Plants, quotes from various ppl hanging on the wall, dried up limes hanging from the lights, vinyl records definitely enjoyed the vibes. Gets pretty busy but not too bad where you need a reservation. Had a mule for about 11 bucks. Didn't drive but saw parking about half a block up.

Happy the inside is back open! I'm not a fan of the barrels outside. Any place that has $5 mules is alright with me. Also, burger Mondays for $7!

Finally made it back to Burlington/ Winooski area after the hit of Covid.. Mule Bar never disappoints! The poutine was amazing! Beer selection was on point .. allowed call ahead outdoor seating on the patio and our bartender was awesome! She was super friendly and helpful!

Delicious drinks made to perfection. And no joke the best cheeseburger I've ever had. Great staff, place is kinda small though so be prepared to not have a seat unless you're early.

The state of Vermont has a program, the Everyone Eats Program, which was created from the FEMA grants because we're in a state of emergency. The Everyone Eats Program is a program where you can get a meal (4 oz of meat and a side) from a restaurant and they get reimbursed $10 for the meal. The restaurant is required to purchase at least 10% of their overall produce from local farmers... So it's a win-win for all involved Paying close attention to the fact that it was created to FEED people that were negatively effected by Covid, while supporting local businesses and farmers So, I have been to the Mule Bar 4 times. The first two times I had interaction with the owner. We had nice conversation about the program and how it's a win-win for all More recently I have been served by a particular female server. The Mule Bar used to offer a hamburger and fries, now they only offer a pulled pork sandwich and fries. My daughter has an allergy to histamine and can not eat tomatoes or bbq sauce, so she can't eat the pulled pork sandwich. I asked her if they were going to offer the hamburger again and she said she didn't know, she was new. She said they probably offer the pulled pork sandwich because it's more cost effective (because they can order less expensive meat and brine it and serve older meat with less detection) Yesterday I ordered food from Our House Bristo, which is amazing, they make your Mac and Cheese to order and it takes about an hour. They give you a huge container, it's about 2 lbs of food. Easily 2 meals. At 5 pm I called the Mule Bar and ordered one meal, so Emma could eat the fries while we wait for the food from Our House Bristo. The server said it would be ready in 10 minutes, I said I was stuck in traffic and it would take me longer than that to get there. She said "it will be here waiting for you" I got there at 5:30. There were 3 different orders there, bagged up. They put them in brown bags to help keep the food warm and they put condiments in the bag.. napkins, ketchup and salad dressing for the lettuce I got there at 5:30. My order was not bagged up. I asked her for a smaller container, so I could put the fries in it for my daughter. My food was cold, which I knew it would be because she told me it would be. The condiments were in my food container, literally, in my food. I put the fries in the smaller container and left. She was like, you don't want this. I said no and left. I literally did not speak to her, but to ask for a container and say no I didn't want the sandwich. I privately messaged the Mule Bar to complain about her condescending attitude and obvious prejudice towards me because I'm poor. This was based off my 1st encounters with her and then her nasty attitude this time. A restaurant should be made aware when a server is rude, condensing and prejudice against poor people, so they can at least know how people are being treated... The owner of the Mule Bar told me that I was ungrateful trash and that I was no longer welcome at the Mule Bar because I wasn't grateful for my free meal (which isn't free, they get paid from the Everyone Eats Program, they're not running a soup kitchen, they're not the Salvation Army or the People's Kitchen...programs that actually offer free meals) So apparently the server is a reflection of the owners own prejudice against poor people It literally makes me sick that people think that it's okay to be bigoted against someone, that they're being paid to help, because I am negatively effected by Covid. I'm sorry I'm poor and was trying to support your business. Apparently he doesn't want poor people in his restaurant and I want people to know that, so they can choose to support him or not. He also lied about not holding meals, out of the 30 restaurants that participate in the program he is the only one who will not wait 10 mins to make your order because you're stuck in traffic. Pizza 44 opens at 11:30, you have to start calling at 9:30 to place an order, for a later time, because they're sold out before they open

Came here while apartment hunting for a quick bite to eat at lunch time. Our bartender-server was very nice and too the time to give me some great information about the area and area apartment complexes (Sold me on staying in the vicinity). Our table ordered three plates of sliders: a couple of basic burgers with cheddar, the veggie burger, which all came with awesome fries and a Hill Farmstead Edward American Pale Ale. The burgers were juicy and cooked per preferred temp, which is alway a bonus. The veggie slider, however, was the real star. The fries looked to be house cut and they too were very good. I am not a fan of veggie burgers, but this one, described on the menu as a "house made curried sweet potato-lentil patty (contains nuts) on brioche bun with mesclun greens, pickles with house orange-cilantro salsa" was the best damn veggie burger I've ever eaten. It bursted with fresh flavor. The bartender told me people love them so much, they'll top them with one of the meat proteins. I'd live to figure out exactly how they made it because I could eat these at least once a week. I guess when I move here, I'll have to make that happen. The Hill Farmstead Edward American Pale Ale was very refreshing and light. It had a really nice grapefruit-y flavor and citrus aroma. Looks like a brewery tour is needed. I can see why this place is a favorite in the area and it looks like it may become one of mine in the not-too-distant-future, too.

Take-home beers during the pandemic, served in our souvenir glass!

This was mainly due to the great service and delicious meals ordered by each of us in our family of three. Our table was never left waiting and the food was served hot. Everything was made with original flavor additions such as homemade sauces, fresh breads, and unique use of herbs and spices. Lastly, I was told to mention that the hand cut fries were exceptional. Since we visit Burlington often, we look forward to returning to the Farmhouse to try other dishes on their menu or just ordering the same meals since they were so good. I was a little hesitant coming here because great food is just as important to me as great drinks,…read moreand the menu was very limited. The menu listed only two mains: a "Charred Oat Burger" and a "Short Rib Toastie" in addition to two salads and four "shareables". I believe there were one or two specials that day as well, one being Steak Frites. But the food reviews were good and the drink reviews were great so I decided to go. Even if I had second thoughts the welcome from Bob the bartender when I entered (first customer when I arrived at 5:00 opening time) seemed so sincere that not staying was out of the question. I took my seat at the bar (supposedly rebuilt with materials from a bar in Ireland that closed). Bob was great, with an enthusiasm for great whiskey that he couldn't hide if he tried, and didn't seem to mind that I'm not enough of a connoisseur to have many opinions of my own. Between other customers that soon filled the place he kept me talking and I'm not much of a talker. About whiskey, where I'm from, Burlington in general, and he gave me some tips on some lesser-known Vermont attractions I didn't know about. Their whiskey collection was large and from many lands. Having just returned from Ireland I was pleased to see several I remember from my visit - not just the usual Jamesons here! I prefer a cocktail to straight whiskey though, so it was Sazeracs tonight. Two specialties. First the Rosemary's Sazerac: Bulleit Rye, rosemary syrup, Peychauds bitters, rinse of Laphroaig, torched rosemary sprig. My second was also a Sazerac: their Irish Sazerac, made with an Irish whiskey and other ingredients which I've forgotten. Both drinks were fantastic, generous with the alcohol, and made with attention to details like properly-sized ice cubes (large) and pre-chilled glasses. For food I got the "Charred Oak Burger." I don't know where the "oak" comes in. The only burger on the menu, it was made with two thin patties, a great quantity of whiskey & honey-glazed pork belly in large pieces, kimchi mayo, and a brioche bun. One of the most interesting burgers I've had in a long time. Even though it was a bit overstuffed more due to the pork belly than the patties I managed to eat it without it falling apart, a common problem with burgers. Instead of the fries it came with I elected to get the roasted Brussels sprouts instead, a special shareable of the day. I don't think I was charged extra even though it was a rather large portion. These were excellent too, sweet and bacony with no bitterness. As it got busier the noise level increased but only moderately. I liked the music playing, a mix of blues and energetic classic rock. Overhearing other conversations I could tell that these were discerning customers who took their whiskey seriously and asked detailed questions before settling on their choice of libation. Just two things on the dessert menu: Chocolate Overload and Caramel Sea Salt Cheesecake. I got the Overload: chocolate cake with Bailey's Irish Cream sauce. Nothing special but I enjoyed it; a nice way to finish the meal. It was big enough that I took about half home, along with half the Brussels sprouts. This is definitely a place I want to come back to. I wish the food menu was more extensive but that burger and sprouts were so good I could see repeating the same menu again, trying new specialty cocktails next time.
