Small brewery with good tasting beers. The place is nice. There located in a strip mall with good parking. The service is great and friendly. We had a beer and a flight.

    Better than stickers!!

Beer was good. Two stars for lame bartender and no stickers. Sat at the bar because the place was pretty busy including a large brewery touring group. Granted the bartender was the only one there working, we tried to ask several questions about their beer and got minimal replies. Also, he had zero personality. Not a great fit for a place where he represents the joint. Also to Dan and Kara. GET STICKERS!! We collect them from everywhere we go. It's a cheap way to advertise as well as make visitors happy with a little something to take home. Also, when I asked your bartender for them, he said for me to "take it up with the boss" and pointed you live two blocks that way. You lost money on us not having stickers...I treated myself to something better!

Simple Roots was a great stop, with six beers on tap and flexible tasting options, ranging from $2 samples to a flight of four for $8 (want one sample? That's cool! Want everything? Equally doable). I tried the elderflower saison and the Passion, both of which were very good. Inviting space with ample seating and though we didn't try it, a super reasonably priced grilled cheese sandwich available ($3.50). Service was friendly and welcome; This is the kind of place I could see myself being a regular at if I lived locally.

For a brewery that until earlier this year was operating out a their garage, this couple has hit it out of the park. Although I think Foursquare attempted to direct me to the old garage on my way over to their current location, the new place is a very nice setup - seating for twelve or so at the bar, and several tables as well. Ample parking (it's in a strip mall), plenty of light (windows on two sides), and in a nod to family friendliness - they are the first brewery that I can recall having a proper baby changing table in the men's room. Dad - if you have the baby for the afternoon, bring her down (she can eat pretzels) and have a beer, you won't regret it. Speaking of the beer, as of August 2016, they had a very nice selection of beer to drink on a summer day - mostly ales, including a couple of IPAs that were very well done. Last thing - they will fill ANYONE'S growler. Being originally from New York, the Vermont culture of "only filling a growler with our name on it" bothers me a bit, and is one of the few things I don't like about the beer scene over here. I hope this catches on with more places.

I'm so glad this place has opened up in the new north end! A definite destination for craft beer fans. Always new beers to try too!!

Parking: Lots of parking all around outside. Lots of outdoor seating (if there aren't open seats in…read morethe front there is seating BEHIND the building). Ordering: If you sit outside you must go inside to order. Same with if you're inside, you must go up to cash register to order. Noise: They often have live music which can be quite loud so I would suggest on a night you want to catch up with someone either sit outside or make sure live music isn't playing. Drinks: They have great options between all types of beer and cocktails. Cocktails are not made there, they're batch prepared/already pre-prepared, so if you're looking for authentic-made-in-front-of-you-cocktails, this isn't your spot - but their cocktails are good! Service: They have three different lines/registers you can order at. Location: overall great location, you can KIND OF see the lake from foam. It's set back behind a road and has quite a few large bushes/trees around it but you are only physically about 200 yards from the lakefront.

Fun/cozy seating inside and outside, alike. Food trucks outside. And right near the boardwalk of Burlington. We always bring some cases of beer home with us when we visit because it's that good. The service is quick and friendly and the vibe is chill/fun/fall. A great spot to check out, especially if you're in the area for leaf peeping or even skiing.

A sister restaurant to Foam Brewers!…read more We spent a weekend in Burlington, VT visiting breweries, wine bars, a comedy show, eating, shopping and it was wonderful. Deep City was a recommendation for brunch from a local. It is the sister restaurant to Foam Brewers (right next door). When we walked in there was a small wait but not bad. We headed over to the brewery to grab coffee and to check it out. It is definitely a cool spot. They have a huge selection of beer, a small wine program (who knew) and small bites. Unfortunately they did not have TVs or else we would've come back to watch the football game but we did purchase some beer before heading back over for brunch at Deep City. The menu here is a little more Mexican-forward think Huevos Rancheros, but there was still plenty of items that looked appealing. We split the banana bread with maple walnut cream cheese (to die for) to share as an app which was fresh and delicious. I also ordered a fruit cup which was also good. We then shared their Huevos Verdes which is similar to Huevos Rancheros except it came with a tomatillo salsa. It was good but very sloppy to eat. Overall it was a great experience, and service was phenomenal. A great brunch place while visiting Burlington VT.

First of all, they have a parking lot, which is free to park in, which was super convenient. The menu is interesting and everything sounded so good, including the daily features (duck hash, yum)! It made it super difficult to decide what to order, but we eventually settled on the biscuits and herb gravy, the across the pond, a side of the cheesy kale, the polenta breakfast dish, and the trout and eggs. Our server was super patient and kind and the food was amazing. I don't usually like biscuits and gravy that much, but their vegetarian gravy was so tasty. It reminded me a bit of broccoli cheddar soup in the best way, and the biscuits were flaky. I'd had the English breakfast plate at Penny Cluse before, and this one was even better. I loved the mushrooms and the sausage. The cornmeal crusted trout on the trout and eggs plate was crispy and not fishy at all, and the best trout I've ever tried. I loved that everything we ordered was so saucy since I'm a big sauce girl. This place is high on my list to revisit when I'm back in Burlington!
