They resolved the problem quickly and our guide was there and ready to go within 15 minutes of the originally scheduled time. Our guide Lauren was fantastic! She handled the mishap with grace and without skipping a beat. City tours had to have Ubers take us from brewery to brewery which worked out perfectly fine in the end. On to the tour itself, we were a smaller group, which I loved! We stopped at 4 locations and we sampled A LOT of beer. (I don't understand the reviews saying you barely get 3 drinks because by the end of it my husband and I could barely drink the last beers) We got behind the scenes tours at 2 of the breweries. Goodwater was my personal favorite. Lauren gave us a phenomenal history lesson along the way, which I fully nerded out to. They said there were some "kinks" in the kitchen and it was going to be about another half hour. A server came by to see if we wanted to order any drinks while we waited and was going to charge us until my wife questioned that. After checking with her manager, our server was able to get us complimentary non-alcoholic drinks. The "kinks in the kitchen" were really understaffing due to a lack of preparation for a busy weekend. About 45 minutes later, we got our food and asked for boxes to bring it home. I had ordered a Kale and beet salad with fried chicken for $19. This couldn't have been much more than 2 cups of salad. Once I opened it at home at around 9:00 p.m. and saw the three pieces of fried chicken remnants, I couldn't believe that this is what I waited 2 hours to eat. At no point was there any attempt at service recovery; No manager came by to update. It was an incredibly poor performance for this Winooski staple. It felt like they were treating everyone different as a one-time tourist customer, forgetting that there were possibly people there that are repeat customers. I felt bad for our server because she should not have been bearing the brunt of this on her own. She had no support from any manager. Only one out of the four ginger beers was palatable. Their first ginger beer, True 1/10, tasted like murky water. Like water with an aftertaste. The only ginger beer that was drinkable, Volcano Juice (5/10), wasn't anything I'd go out of my way to buy. The brewery logo is cute, the flights on whale cutting boards are cute, but the ginger beers need a lot of work. Hopefully they reformulate before they start distributing. Would love to see them succeed.

One of the reasons I tend to stop in here is because of their excellent food, however the quality of the food has taken a dive lately due to a change with their chef. The famous and delicious fried chicken sandwich is no longer made with fried chicken but is now grilled. Huh!! I'll still go back for the beers but not for the food, at least not until the kitchen improves sgnificantly.
