Goodwater has been one of my favorite breweries in the Burlington area. The beers are great for sure. One of the reasons I tend to stop in here is because of their excellent food, however the quality of the food has taken a dive lately due to a change with their chef. The famous and delicious fried chicken sandwich is no longer made with fried chicken but is now grilled. Huh!! I'll still go back for the beers but not for the food, at least not until the kitchen improves sgnificantly. read more

This was the second stop on our brewery tour. We started with a quick, informative tour where we got to hear about the brewing process and even see ingredients used. Next we were taken into a room with high top tables prepared with tastings - several pours of a few beers in tap. Being part of a large group, I appreciated this as opposed to having to make my own flight. We were able to spend more time getting to know one another as we made our way through the pours . Had we picked our own flights, as we did at the previous brewery, I don't think we would have had this opportunity to mingle, also facilitated by the group seating arrangement. As far as drinks go nothing stood out. The ambiance however was nice, and the bathroom clean. read more

This place is ok. Was a bit disappointed with the food and small portion size. At the risk of sounding cheap, the fact that you order at bar and automatically are forced to tip a minimum of 20 percent is somewhat odd. It's not table service. Beers were ordered at bar and food was brought over to table (we brought beers) but we were never checked on. To mandate a 20 percent tip feels like managements way to cut their own costs. It is preloaded and can't be edited. With a ton of breweries in the area there are surely others that offer comparable beer and better value. read more

We just went for lunch because we heard there was a new chef. We used to go often because we loved the food and beer. This new chef did not impress. We spent $18 on taco grande nachos. It was a huge pile of clearly store bought chips, melted cheese that was bland and felt store bought but cannot confirm that. It has a few teaspoons of chopped jalapeño, a rough chopped onion tomato and cilantro filled salsa; and maybe 1/8 a cup of ground beef. Many chips were piled up and not covered by any topping. Meanwhile; a garlic blt, garden salad and potato wedges was $12. Bacon was overdone but all was fine enough there. But no common sense in the pricing considering the major difference in quality. When checking out, we were told gratuity was included in our final price ($59 for the two meals, two beers and added gratuity) but we were not given any opportunity to see what gratuity was automatically included. The machine was turned to us only when it was time to tap. Then we were prompted by the machine to give another tip!! No thanks considering we don't even know what the original automatic tip was, and the food was NOT worth the price they charged. Overall, not impressed by the new menu or chef. The old menu was definitely a "bring your friends from out of town" stop, but this was not! read more

I was impressed by this working brewery and taproom not far from I89 and the Burlington Airport. I had the Proper Mild and the McAllister Red, both of which were malty and well balanced, although quite similar. I had a chicken sandwich which was less appealing and tasted like it had been used as a doorstop for a few weeks before being dusted off and microwaved to put in a brioche bun. It was served with some sorry looking fries, but the Heinz ketchup was flawless. Anyway, breweries should be reviewed for their ales and no complaints on that score. read more

This brewery is pretty cool and quite new so it's totally worth checking out. A great addition to all the other awesome breweries nearby. The cleanliness of the place is insane. You can guarantee that your beer will be clean and pure. I was here during an in-depth tour of the brewing facilities and wow--the place is immaculate! All of the tubes and tanks are kept to high standards to produce quality beer. My husband and I sampled four beers here including a winter brew that was definitely my favorite. They had an Octoberfest beer to offer in January which I thought was awesome. Apparently they don't believe in having it for a limited amount of time and I agree. If I could have fall beer all year long I would. I wish I could remember the name of a beer that I sampled that tasted extremely similar to champagne which I thought was so cool. We stopped by there today. I had their chocolate porter which was great. I thoroughly enjoyed it. My husband did a flight. Apparently they have a variety of flight sizes but it doesn't tell you that on the menu. Luckily we asked. Of course I had to try some of the samples that my husband ordered. I loved the inspire which is a nice mellow Irish amber ale. The stanger was also great- not too hoppy. They have about 10 beers on tap. We liked all the ones we tried. The place is a little off the beaten track but definitely worth looking for. Their hours are strange- today they opened at 3. Service was excellent. Seating was comfortable. The beer-tender said they planned to have an outdoor area soon as right now it is a small indoor area and hopefully food. Check it out- you will be glad you did. read more

A great variety of styles, not just IPA's although they are my favorite. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and even though we don't get there often due to the distance, they always remember us. We live about an hour away but we make a point of going to Williston just for their Hop Collusion. Just about the best damn IPA I've ever had. read more

We wanted to go to a brewery to celebrate our son's birthday . So we agreed to try Goodwater, as none of us had ever been there before. We truly enjoyed the experience! The beer selections were excellent, we tried multiple types and really enjoyed them all, especially the Inspired Red and the Hoppy Side of Pale. We ordered burgers, and they were some of the best ones we have had in the area. If you like hot- try the Fried Chicken sandwich, Nashville hot, it will make you sweat, in a good way! Excellent beers. Very friendly service. The place is clean and tight inside, layed out really well. The Kolsch and Red Ales are excellent. I met one of the big bossman and he was a really cool, personable guy. No ego. I look forward toward return visits. Goodwater is a smaller brewery in a shopping center- but they make amazing beer. The people who work there are so nice, you can get flights and they will talk to you about brewing. They allow our furry friends which is the best. They also always have a cider- and it was probably the best cider I've ever had called Vermont ice. read more

Good Water? I'd say that it's great water! So many breweries in the north east make what I consider unthinkable beers. If your not a fool or a follower then you probably are sick of every craft brewery trying to one up the next with the most extreme flavor. I had three beers well visting. A kolsh style beer that was clean and refreshing, an Irish red that was malty with a clean finish and the Pale ale. The pale ale wasnt overwhelming and seemed well balanced. The Bartender Aryon? Was friendly, informed, and even made some great sugestions of other cool spots to see in the area. The tasting room was the perfect mixture of clean and rustic. Beautiful wood bar and glass wall looking right into the brewery. The friendly owner was drinking at the bar and and even showed us his brewery and answered all of my questions with ease. read more

Good brewery that makes a nice range of drinkable styles. The taproom is a pretty simple industrial warehouse converted into a small bar. The beer is affordable and could easily serve as a gateway to craft beer, although that probably isn't necessary in Vermont. read more

Great local brewery with a friendly bartender. It's a simple no nonsense tap room. There is not much food offered but the beer is great, the employees are great and the atmosphere is like no other.
