Poludnitsa
Steve A.

Checked out another one of the many breweries in Burlington. It happens to be attached to a pizza place. Queen City is good even for just the beer though. Lively atmosphere without being noisy and way crowded. The bar area isn't that big, but there's enough room for a group. A lot of people who come here know about it because of the pizza place that shares the same building. In fact, you can order a pizza from there at the bar and they'll bring it. They're actually another business, so this will just focus on the beers though. It's about $7 a pint. The beer menu has a variety on tap. Best one we had was the Poludnitsa, a Czech Pilsner. Great taste and it wasn't filling. It's light at 5% ABV. This has a bright spicy hop finish. Lots of ales and lagers to choose. These of course go good with a pizza. Get some beers. It has a ton to choose from. There's also the pizza place if wanting to eat something.

Cheers!

Queen City is fairly unique because they brew a lot of beer styles that most other area breweries do not. The focus here is on European Styles. My very favorite is their Yorkshire Porter. My husband is always thrilled to have an ESB or the Raushbier. The bartenders are well informed about their products and the decor is appealing.

Stopped into Queen City on our brewery tour. It's directly across the street from Zero Gravity. Nice cozy tap room. Friendly bartenders and clientele. Very different tap list from other breweries who are heavy into IPA's. So, I was delighted to enjoy their Schwarzbier which was very good. My sister got a flight, of course. She especially liked the Gregarious (a Scotch Ale) and the Steinbier. Would not hesitate to return.

Ended our brewery hop at Queen City Brewery on Sunday evening. Focused on old world styles, they have a huge selection and truly care about the beer they serve up. Quality: Loved the massive selection of old world beer at Queen City Brewery. We made our way through Flights of Munich Dunkel, Rauchbier, Jazz From Hell, and Barge Canal, as well as Mailbock, Steinbier, Psycho Keller, and Monk of Underhill. While it is tough to pick favorites, as the quality and consistency were excellent, I think the Rauchbier and the Munich Dunkel were ones I would quickly order again. Quantity: Pours in the Flights were a bit small. Value: $10 for Flights. $7 for Draughts. Ambiance: Queen City Brewery sits towards the back of an industrial building, which has a large private space and a pizzeria in front. The brewery itself is build around a square bar in the center, with just a few tables to the sides. Almost everyone chose a seat at the bar, and there was a lot of banter. In the background some 90s and early 2000 jams played, a few folks were singing along. Crowd: A small, but rowdy crowd. Lots of friendly regulars. Service: Wonderful and kind bartender, love that the next door pizza spot also brought in a pie no one picked up. Parking: Shared parking area.

I'm not usually a big fan of German beers but I still enjoyed our stop at Queen City Brewery while visiting the area. My boyfriend and I got a flight to share and the bartender was really friendly. It's a casual, fun place to hang out and have a couple beers. We weren't hungry but I think they have some snacks and pretzels. I thought the vintage car above the bar was really cool, but other than that, the atmosphere is a little sterile. Overall it was a pleasant stop and easy to hit up before or after checking out Zero Gravity across the street. I personally prefer Zero Gravity. If you like German beers, definitely check out Queen City Brewery.

Spent our last day visiting Burlington at Queen City Brewery. The beer was excellent, the service was great. We also had the added bonus of talking to the owners in the new Biergarten. I highly recommend a visit if you want to relax and enjoy a great beer... or two, or

Boy was this place fun! The space is well organized with great parking in a walkable part of town. The bartenders were awesome and the beer was good. I also ordered the root beer which was so multidimensional that it made all the beer flavors flat. Also got to try the quetzel which was a sourdough pretzel made for the place. While it would be great marketing to serve with a mustard or beer cheese made from one of their beers, the sourdough was a nice texture and went great with regular mustard. Filled a brought in growler though the potholes of Burlington did not take kindly to it.

Cool brewery! You can get a flight of 4 beers for $4. You can get a souvenir cup and flight of 4 beers for $6. Complimentary pretzels, and chips for $1 Great beer and knowledgeable staff. Shirts and other merchandise for sale. A little hard to find, you park in the very back.

You can't tell me this doesn't look refreshing af

A very chill environment. Unlike some of the neighboring breweries, this one was busy, but not to the point where you're talking over each other trying to grab a drink. Everyone here was relaxed and ready to have a great time. We didn't stay very long, but Queen City made quite the impression on me. It was also pretty cool to watch two employees drop some serious beer knowledge about their brews to a curious customer. I will say that this brewery might not have all the glitz and glamour (huge selection or tons of food options) that some of the other breweries have, but if you want something calmer and just a place to enjoy a drink or two, this is your spot!

Cool display of German beer trays

Queen City is a little bit more modest and laid back than some other Burlington breweries, but that doesn't make it any worse. I really liked it. The decor is creative and funky. I really liked the German Bier trays and the old pick up truck. They have a nice bar, as well as some outside seating. The beers run the spectrum, and each one is pretty bold in flavor. They seem to have every one of the standard kinds. The bartenders were very helpful. When I asked for a glass of water, they even gave me Brita-filtered instead of just straight from the tap.

If you like pretzels, you will love their q shaped pretzels better known as Quetzels !

They have a great event space (fits up to 80 people) and were super easy to work with to coordinate our event! Great beverage menu as well!

A sister restaurant to Foam Brewers!…read more We spent a weekend in Burlington, VT visiting breweries, wine bars, a comedy show, eating, shopping and it was wonderful. Deep City was a recommendation for brunch from a local. It is the sister restaurant to Foam Brewers (right next door). When we walked in there was a small wait but not bad. We headed over to the brewery to grab coffee and to check it out. It is definitely a cool spot. They have a huge selection of beer, a small wine program (who knew) and small bites. Unfortunately they did not have TVs or else we would've come back to watch the football game but we did purchase some beer before heading back over for brunch at Deep City. The menu here is a little more Mexican-forward think Huevos Rancheros, but there was still plenty of items that looked appealing. We split the banana bread with maple walnut cream cheese (to die for) to share as an app which was fresh and delicious. I also ordered a fruit cup which was also good. We then shared their Huevos Verdes which is similar to Huevos Rancheros except it came with a tomatillo salsa. It was good but very sloppy to eat. Overall it was a great experience, and service was phenomenal. A great brunch place while visiting Burlington VT.

First of all, they have a parking lot, which is free to park in, which was super convenient. The menu is interesting and everything sounded so good, including the daily features (duck hash, yum)! It made it super difficult to decide what to order, but we eventually settled on the biscuits and herb gravy, the across the pond, a side of the cheesy kale, the polenta breakfast dish, and the trout and eggs. Our server was super patient and kind and the food was amazing. I don't usually like biscuits and gravy that much, but their vegetarian gravy was so tasty. It reminded me a bit of broccoli cheddar soup in the best way, and the biscuits were flaky. I'd had the English breakfast plate at Penny Cluse before, and this one was even better. I loved the mushrooms and the sausage. The cornmeal crusted trout on the trout and eggs plate was crispy and not fishy at all, and the best trout I've ever tried. I loved that everything we ordered was so saucy since I'm a big sauce girl. This place is high on my list to revisit when I'm back in Burlington!
