Amazing place with fabulous atmosphere, service and good! Reminds me of European cafes with incredible bread and sandwich fillings.

The Venetian Soda Lounge - Boozy Mudslide

The Venetian Soda Lounge

Went here with my mom during a trip to Burlington and we had a very nice time! The soda lounge is…read morelocated within the Soda Plant - a collection of small businesses and artists all within an old soda factory. We both ordered the eggnog mudslide, a holiday special, which were served quickly and were very delicious. The night we went was their weekly karaoke night which we didn't know ahead of time, but it was fun! It seems to be a group of regulars who like to sing and the vibe was fun and laid back. The employee running karaoke was super nice and friendly and overall the whole place had really good vibes. I think we'll definitely be back next time we visit Burlington!

Beautifully decorated and super friendly cocktail bar located in the historic building that…read moreformerly housed the Venetian Soda Company. We visited last night and it happened to be during Karaoke time. The crowd was super chill, friendly, and very supportive of the singers. Everyone was having a great time and the vibe was pretty amazing, kind of felt like a speakeasy. There were people sitting at the bar, people clapping in the seats in front of the stage, and people knitting in the back. There were empty tables last night, but from what I read, it can get pretty crowded here. We ordered the Mudslides and they were really good, but a little too icy. Service was friendly and we felt very comfortable here. Loved the decor with the historic photos, the colored lights and the comfortable old style chairs. We'll be back on our next visit to Burlington!

Frankie's - Trout

We had a group of six, so they sat us in the private room on the second floor. Very friendly staff and the service was great. We tried a variety of cocktails, all unique in their own ways. As everything on the menu sounded delicious and the menu rotates, we decided to order almost one of each item and share plates. They paced the delivery of the dishes, so we got to enjoy them a few at a time. With the exception of one unremarkable vegetarian dish, we loved everything we tasted. We skipped dessert, as we filled up on the small plates and main dishes. We'll definitely return to this restaurant.

Burlington local, first time going to Frankie's. Only hear good things about it…read more Pros: service, quality/freshness of food The service was top notch from when we first entered until we left. We were immediately greeted and seated. They helped take our coats/hang them for us. We were always closely attended to and given time if more was needed. The homemade pasta dish we got with greens and mushrooms was fantastic! My bf liked the shrimp appetizer/smaller dish and we all liked the trout, but it seemed a little mushy/overcooked. Cons: loud/bad acoustics, dim, portion size(only for one specific dish) A little hard to hear inside when it's at peak capacity. Was at dinner with a group of four and it was quite hard to hear the person diagonally across from me the entire night. Lighting was a little too dim for my personal liking but others may not mind(for example, it was darker inside than it was outside at 6pm). Food was overall very good. The disappointments were a clam dish we couldn't even first find any clams in and then the two people who got them when we divided up the dish only got two each! And the side greens, seemed overcooked and were over-salted. Would definitely try it again would recommend to others.

I wanted this to be special. I wanted it to excel. It let me down in so many ways. Five people,…read morefour appetisers, two wine and one beer, and four main courses. I was lured here because someone said it was better than Bistro de Margo; it was not. Service was good from the server and poor from the bus boys and kitchen. The kitchen failed in many ways. Could I give it fractional scorse it would be 2.6. The server was good and had a phenomenal memory to take all our orders with no notes. Wow! The three appetizers were delivered out of order. One came. Fast forward 20 minutes; the remaining two came out. The appetizer dishes were never cleared. They hung around until we decided not to have desert! The appetizers were underwhelming; how can you screw up a Caesar salad? The main courses disappointed in many ways. The dishes were serverd luke warm. Mussels were dehydrated on top of the heap and obvioulsy sat under a heat map. The steaks were cooked well but accompaniments were cold, cool, or barely warm; take your pick none were appetizing. The plates were stone cold which didn't help. Finally after dinner was served and eaten and plates cleared for deserts we did not order the remaining plates and debis were cleared from the table. Not good. Not professional. Not worth the money. The wines were good. The beer was good. Dinner came to $275 plus another $60 tip. It wasn't worth it. There is clealry issues in the kitchen and staff. They were simply not into it. I would not come back. If you want a French dinner look elsewhere or just don't try that in Burlington.

Lovely little place in downtown Vermont…read more I came here with my girlfriend for our celebration. We had a great time. We went late and so we got their reduced price menu (last hour). It was very reasonable. We ordered an entree and two apps. Everything was super tasty and served quickly. I look forward to coming here again!
