I freely admit to not liking beer much at all. But I do enjoy sampling, whether it's beer, wine, distilled spirits, or whatever. So I was disappointed to discover that Two Heroes has no flights or sampling options. Only full glasses, bottles, etc. This is strange as almost every winery, brewery, and distillery I've been to has this option for the curious or those who just can't make up their minds. I do like hard cider though and they currently offer two. Unfortunately only available as 750 ml bottles. I had a bottle of the "Dry": apples from Allenholm farm, only about 3 miles away (so super-local!), with a decent 6.7% ABV. I like dry but it was a bit too dry for my liking. I didn't manage to finish it during my visit and unfortunately there wasn't an easy way to cap it so I had to leave some behind. There's also a Medley cider (apples, cherries, cantaloupe), all locally grown within 5 miles. 8 of their own beers, some draft and some cans, which somebody else will have to judge. I came for the music which happens on Wednesdays and Fridays. Just local artists, "singer-songrwriters" with guitar, a blues guitar and backup bass, etc. Nothing astoundingly great, but I do appreciate and try to support small-time musicians. And it's free. Unfortunately it's not a great place to enjoy music. Most of the clientele isn't coming for the music but for beer and conversation and that is LOUD. The acoustics of the room don't help. I feel bad for the musicians because hardly anyone seemed to be paying any attention. On both visits I stayed until the end and when I left I left a tip in the jar and noticed that I was only the second person to do so. I hope these musicians eventually find a place to perform where they're more appreciated. The food is pretty limited pub fare: burgers, nachos, pretzel bites, wings, rueben, bratwurst. I had a Bacon Shroom burger with fries. Not very good. There was a disagreeable flavor that I attribute to overcooked oily mushrooms. Fries were nothing special. On another visit I tried dessert: strawberry rhubarb upside-down cake. It tasted stale, the fruit was sweet but flavorless, and it was tiny. Like they took their regular-size square slice, realized they were running out, and decided to cut them in half diagonally and call that a serving instead. Super-overpriced at $8. Their support for local musicians raised my rating up to 3 stars. I might come back because I do enjoy live music and it's very close by, but I probably wouldn't get their food again. And please: offer flights. Maybe I'll discover a beer I actually like. read more

I stopped here for lunch today. I had a beer and a Signature Beer Bratwurst. The service was friendly and the brat was delicious.

Liked the space and the evening skies' view from my outdoor seat, as it was a gorgeous night. Became thoroughly annoyed when I couldn't place an order the way I'd like bc of a QR code and/or where I chose to sit. Wifi doesn't always work, and I couldn't make any changes unless I ordered at the bar, which I did. Unnecessary approach, IMO. Food was good (chicken caesar and my friend got the chicken sandwich) but the best thing by far was their house-made lemonade. It was incredible. read more

First off, they have recently moved more South from their brewing operation on Ferry Road. A new, huge space inside and out with a large parking lot. Order everything up at the bar. Get your drinks right away, and they give you a number if ordering food. Limited, but creative menu. We really enjoyed the coconut shrimp. The pretzel bites (buns) were decent. The beer cheese was a bit lumpy and runny at the same time and a tad sour. Not our favorite. Falafel had a big amount of yellow curry and we loved them. Served on a small amount of greens (not a salad by any means). The beers were above average and they had most of them to go in cans as well. This place is going to be quite popular. read more

We dropped by for lunch and tried the House Reuben, Chicken Caesar Salad and the Hummus Platter. Everyone agreed that the food was wonderful. We were staying up the street and saw this place driving by. Know breweries very well and this little establishment is well worth a visit. The building is beautiful, clean, and has great ambiance. Headed out to the state park today and came across Two Heroes on the way home. Very quiet for a Wednesday late afternoon, but plenty of staff (mostly standing around eating). Ordered beers and two appetizers: vegan plate and trout dip. The food arrived quickly, but was disappointing. The hummus was very sweet and the toasted bread slices that came with the trout dip were inedible. The bread was so stale it could not be eaten. We used the pitas that came with the hummus. But, on the plus side, the beer was good. Recommend the beer...not sure about the food. read more

"Vegan" is not in my vocabulary, but these eggrolls with the sweet chili lime sauce were incredible. Turtle Bay IPA is a great goto. The outside patio has a roof that shades for early afternoon, and lawn seating is in direct sunlight. A tent or giant sunshade would be a great addition. read more

Just tried their Sunday Brunch. The Eggs Benedict was adequate but nothing special. My companion ordered Hot to Tots, which was described as tater tots, pork belly, cotija cheese, a poached egg, píco de gallo, salsa verde, avo creme craiche, chipotle aioli. They were out of the salsa verde and avo creme craiche and offered no substitutes. When the meal came, he had no more than one forkful and appeared that the pork belly was omitted. What my companion found were a few crumbled bacon bits. My companion asked if he could get a breakfast sandwich, which was the same price, since it was not as he expected. The person behind the counter brought it back to the kitchen and they prepared the sandwich and delivered it to the table. About 3 minutes after it was delivered, the manager came over and said she was going to charge us for the sandwich because there was nothing wrong with the original meal. My companion said he wasn't going to pay for it and to please take it back. The manager said this put her in an "awkward situation" She said if he had sent it back without touching it they could have served it as an employee meal. Would an employee really want a meal that was already served, touched or untouched?? The original meal was already discarded so my companion paid $12 for a meal and got nothing to eat. This was the worse customer service I've ever encountered! We won't be back and I'll certainly not recommend it to anyone. read more

We came upon this brewery by pure chance while biking around the island on a very hot day. I was craving a cold drink and what do you know, I looked up and saw this tiny little brewery. It made the perfect stop, especially because of their cute little outdoor seating area. There was no line at all and plenty of picnic tables open, which we appreciated. My husband got an oat stout while I got the dry hard cider. Both were delicious, served up nice and cold, and made the perfect refreshment. Prices were reasonable, and the guy at the counter was nice and chill. They even have a port-a-potty if nature calls. What a great little find! read more

Far north point after biking from Burlington in the island line trail, across the ferry, beyond allenholm farms, and another mile or so northwest. This was our turnaround point so we stopped for a beer. Quaint little location with just outdoor seating. They said this location was temporary but I love it. New location will be closer to ferry crossing. IPA was good, Burlington has some delic IPAs so wasn't my fav here in the city but good. 3.5 stars for the beer, 5 stars for nice atmosphere and friendly staff. read more

First of all, the Grand Isle area of Vermont is without doubt one of the most beautiful locations in the world. Not exaggerating. Then to have the sweet little Brauerei and Biergarten right there in the middle of nowhere to enjoy, you absolutely cannot go wrong. Just like being in das Heimatland. It is a great place to have a beer or two and take some home. Very, very friendly folks running the location. And soon to move into a bigger facility. And by the way, very good beer! read more
