We weren't even looking for a brewery when we happened upon this gem! What a great location...perfect spot to grab a beer, grab a seat, and enjoy the perfect weather! Dog friendly and looks to be a great venue for local musicians. Staff is friendly and welcoming. I had the Honey Badger and hubby had Badger King Belgian Tripel. This is really two places. Summer and winter. Summer has music, lots of seating and great beer. Winter is mostly locals and the brother owners and a great bar tender and great beer. Is there a message here? Yes! It's the beer. Now the people are wonderful and friendly and I like the owners and the vibe but it's the beer. Got it? It's the beer. Very drinkable, very good. A favorite since they first opened. For the summer the bar is set up outside with seating in a large covered barn or tables and chairs outside. Dinner time on the weekends there is a food truck otherwise no food available. A great selection of beers to drink on the spot or take home to enjoy. read more

So glad we found this little spot. The main pour room is small, but the outdoor and enclosed outdoor area lend plenty of space. I had a sampler and my husband had the porter...twice. Though mot an IPA fan, I did find the IPA tasty and drank it down with ease. The porter had a nice, rich taste. We stayed around for two rounds, made some friends in the pavillion, and decided we must make a return trip when the food trucks are back. Worth the short drive from our place in Jay for sure. read more

Stopped in after hiking Poke-o-Moonshine, but wouldn't have known about this place if it weren't for the new ADK 6 Pack hiking challenge. It was only about 10 minutes from the trailhead but in the opposite direction of home, so I'm glad to have heard about it otherwise I doubt we'd ever find ourselves out that way. It was around 2pm on a Friday and there were just a few people there, but lots of activity happening on the BBQ pits - probably for later on. We saw a few people drinking in the picnic area but the sign on the outdoor bar said "closed" so I wasn't too sure where to go, but a friendly gentleman drinking his beer in a rocking chair on the porch of the main building pointed to the door next to him and said, "That way." It was like something out of a movie, and I was loving it. The inside is tiny but we were grateful for indoor plumbing and a sink to freshen up while we decided which beers to try. The girl working behind the bar was so helpful and friendly, we ended up chatting about the ADK 6 Pack and all the other breweries for quite a while. I did a flight and then we headed out because it had been a long day. I'm not sure when I'll find myself up there again but the beer was good, the service was better, and I hope they continue to do well and grow! read more

Small locally owned bar that has their own brewery. The bar itself is very small and enough room to have only a hand full of people to hang out in there, but they have another building on the side that's capable of holding more people with heat lamps for the cold days. The bar itself has that log cabin feel to it and the staff there are very friendly. They have a moderate selection of beers, but it's quite enjoyable. The price is fairly priced and if you bring back the bottles for a refill, you get a discount, which is pretty nice. The establishment is located a little bit out from any main city or town. It has a ton of parking spaces. There are great locations situated near it such as a local butcher that serves amazing quality meat. My friends and I checked this place out on our way to a AIR BNB house near that and it was one of the best decisions ever. Great beer, great people, definitely give this place a check! read more

The setting and relaxed atmosphere make this place worth stopping. We stopped here 5-6 times over the summer, so were able to try a few different styles of beer they brew. All the styles we tried were average or good. Nothing really outstanding though, IMHO. They have a standard IPA, which is a staple at any brew outlet at this time and it is good. Other styles we have tried have been drinkable but rather average. The bar is small and becomes a bottleneck quickly when it gets at all busy. They did have an auxiliary bar setup one time and that helped. The taco truck they have there once in a while is very good. Ingredients were fresh, but order at least three taco's as they are small. One downside of the farm country setting is the amount of flies that can crop up (probably after a local farmer spreads manure?). This can make eating very challenging, to the point that one time we did not order any food to avoid doing battle with the flies. Overall this place is worth a stop to check out at least one time. read more

Out in the rural countryside of upstate New York lies a small but bright gem that I was given the pleasure finding straight from the locals word of mouth while working over in the Adirondacks. For such a small brewery they often have an astounding turn out. People from all over the region flock to the brewery, on days they are open, for some high quality beer, excellent locally sourced victuals, and music. They are only open Thursday through Saturday and host a variety of food trucks which are run by local folks. I recommend checking out their website if you want details on what food trucks or music they will be hosting before making the trip. I have been here a number of times over the past few years and have had mouth-watering burgers, tasty tacos, tender BBQ ribs and chicken, and sweet crepes for dessert. It has all been very good. The brewery itself is tiny and can only occupy a few handfuls of people. Outside they have picnic tables, a pavilion, lots of lawn space and a small stage, which hosts music at certain points of the year. There is a lot of parking space too. I have been here and seen crowds of 100 people or more. Most are friendly locals, many of them farmers, who enjoy the chance to talk and meet new people, welcoming them into their community. It is a family friendly place and the brewery has two homemade sodas, a root beer and ginger beer, on tap. Being situated in the rolling verdant hills of farm land and apple country, getting there is as enjoyable as sitting down outside with a cold beer, a good meal, and fine people to enjoy it with! read more

Our whole family has been impressed by the high quality beer at this special brewery, hidden away near the shore of Lake Champlain and the Adirondack Mountains. This is the real deal, folks. The Badger's Beer is served in the same building it is brewed in, by the brothers who brew it. The ingredients are selected to have much more diversity and depth of flavors than many lg. scale, "micro-breweries" (and their Master Brewer, Dan, has a resume to be proud of! Having worked at quality, "micro-breweries," across the country prior to settling on Mace Chasm Rd., nestled between the Adirondack Mountains of NY to the west, and Lake Champlain & VTs Green Mountains to the East). There are loads of things to do outdoors in a 15-20 mile radius for family (P.S. they have N.A. Ginger beer always for kids :), Ausable Chasm is like the biggest crack in the earth this side of the Mississippi. The ABC looks packed with near 300 people with their families Thurs.-Sat. every-time that I have been since they openned. Farmers and local entrepreneurs, some of them farm on that very same rd., are invited to endeavor in Food-Truck sales (does it get more local than that?, they could be calling it Farm-to-table, if you ask me!). They are always partnering with other local businesses as much as they can with their busy lives, brewing on the days they are not open. I know Dylan has put his background in soil sciences to work nurturing some hops and berries to add to some small batches brews and for decoration. They work to keep buying locally as much as the market allows them to while still supporting a global market for the necessary ingredients used to create their desired products. They have cool shirts, designed growlers, and hand-painted signs all over by local artist, Dennis Smyth. Trust your beer experience to be well enjoyed at this brewery.
