    The vineyard part of!

The owners are so very nice and happy to talk shop aka Wine. So my husband drinks wine not me, but I tried the Artic Fox and had to buy a bottle, what can I say I like the sweet stuff! He decided he liked their white wine As well and picked up a bottle of Adalmiina which is a first he does not drink white wine? So kudos to you!!! So for reals those views are just freakin stunning so I will share a few. I would highly recommend this vineyard if you are in the area!!

Excellent. What a spot!!! What lovely owners!! We let the kids run on the beautiful field while we sampled a few wines.

Entrance with Burlington, VT, visible across the lake.

I was staying for business in Plattsburgh, NY, and decided to take the 30 minute drive out to the Highlands Vineyard and was not disappointed! The location is very scenic...right on the lake directly across from Burlington, VT. The couple who owned the facility were at the register and very willing to help. I did a 6 wine flight for $15, and bought a few bottles to take home for $22 to $25 each. They had gifts, craft beer on tap, and a boxed charcuterie board that you could enjoy outside on the patio or at one of the various benches facing the lake. Definitely worth the drive! They had dry red and white, semi-sweet rose', and sweet white wines available.

You can choose from bar seating, indoor tables, or outdoor spots with a perfect breeze. There's even a big street-side table that's ideal for bachelorette groups or larger parties. The whole space feels elevated, cozy, and a little magical. Drinks: The cocktail menu is insanely creative and the pours are generous. Their espresso martini is one of my all-time favorites... I stop in for one every single time I'm in Lake Placid. It's that good. Food: I think about this food at least once a week. The menu is built around shareable small plates, making it the perfect pre-dinner cocktail hour spot for your travel crew. Order a couple of drinks and a few bites while you take in the lake views before your dinner reservation. My personal must-orders: the charcuterie board and the mac and cheese. Unreal. Price: It's on the pricier side, but genuinely worth every penny. For the quality, the atmosphere, and those views? Not overpriced at all.

Those aren't complaints, but for any "hungry guys" who like hearty portions, this place will run up your tab.

Ruby welcomed us to the tasting room and patiently poured and explored with us the several kinds we were considering. We were there on a Sunday, a beautiful spring day - the sun shining and the small group of visitors kept growing as the afternoon progressed. Unknown to us, the Vineyard had a busy agenda planned, but first they steered us to a grassy area away from their main parking area to park for the night. We went inside to the cool and comfortable wine tasting room and were greeted by a very friendly engaging staff. Ruby offered us a sample and ran through their day's agenda. A talented group of musicians were setting up their equipment on the shaded patio outside while guests were spreading blankets on the lawn or setting up a picnic on one of the several available tables. We were meeting old friends there and hoped we could find a seat. The band played much of the music that I grew up on (Fleetwood Mac, Neil Young, the Dead, and lots more.) We picked out a few bottles to put in the frig in our rig ... then went back inside. Our friends (that live nearby in Vermont) joined us first inside where we shared a charcuterie board. We later moved to our Class B with them and enjoyed our little picnic, accompanied by their delicious wines. Then late in the afternoon, we went back inside because a jazz ensemble was to perform. The sun was still shining and everyone there was feeling the vibes. We met the owner who had a staff that he should be very proud of - they were very gracious to all the guests that came through. Be sure and stay here if it's in your path.
