Our second visit and another Quattro formaggi (4 cheese) pizza. This is loaded, and I mean loaded with cheese, and baked in a wood-fired brick oven. It's as gooey as it gets and doesn't disappoint. Good selection of soda and beers. Staff is super friendly with cool decor all around. I love watching the pizza being made from the bar counter. Highly recommend. read more

Pizza 44 is one of my top lunch spots in Burlington. Their food is so good, and the lunch specials are so reasonable. I prefer the booth seating (me at a couch style seat with a coffee table is a recipe for me to wear my food) and I never have an issue getting a preferred table. Their wood fired lunch sized pizza is so perfect, but I'm in love with the piadinas. Think sandwich with the pizza crust as bread. Side salad today instead of chips. It's so tasty. I've had a few flavors and the eggplant is probably my favorite. Staff is very friendly. It's an order at counter and they bring out. If you need anything they are very attentive! Save room for the fried dough because it's amazing. The roasted veggies and hummus are a must as well! read more

A piping hot personal pizza is THE WAY TO GO from their food truck at the Ben & Jerry's Concerts on the Green at Shelburne Museum. What caught my eye was a woman carrying two whole pizzas amongst the crowd. They looked mouth-watering. Don't let the long line deter you. Once my order was placed for two personal pies, I waiting 5 minutes before my name was called. The Go Ask Alice pesto pizza topped with arugula was divine. Slightly charred edges, deliciously chewy dough, and topped with fresh mozzarella. My partner's pepperoni was peppery and spicy, with an abundance of pepperoni and freshly grated Parmesan. They offer boxes & no-nonsense efficient service. Outstanding! Because I'm still thinking about my slices, I'll definitely check out their brick & mortar location on Pine Street. read more

Went here for a rehearsal dinner and the event space was quite nice. It was a shame the bowling tabletop machine wasn't running. We were all very interested to see how it worked. The buffet had two nice salads and a variety of pizzas. I loved seeing some Brussels sprouts in the pizza and salad. Overall, all the pizzas we tried tasted pretty good. Their crust also had the right chew and a few bubbles, which is my favorite part. The beers that they had were decent, but not noteworthy in our opinion. I'd go back for their food if we're in the area again. read more

I don't know what the standard for pizza for Vermont is but this was a a disappointment for someone from Jersey. We ate it because it was next door to a dog friendly brewery otherwise I wouldn't have chosen it. The margherita pizza was flimsy, undercooked and yet burnt at the same time. There was way too much sauce in proportion to the cheese. The cast iron garlic bread was super disappointing. It was round pieces of leftover crust lightly coated in garlic butter. No actual real pieces of garlic. Very bland and chewy inside. Some pieces were undercooked and some were crispy. Honestly the photos make it look better than it was. read more

Really not good pizza unfortunately. We went with a grandma pie margarita stole which was soggy/underdone and the sauce defied adjectives being both too sweet AND flavorless. We barely ate any of the pie, which is saying something lol. Possibly that a thin crust option is the way to go here but I'd not come back read more

They have the best Caesar brussels salad! Their pizza is great, too. The new one in Shelburne is attached to Archies and the Scoop, which is wonderful. read more

Absolutely delicious! Pizza was fast, fresh, and the crust was to die for. If I could give it 10 stars I would. Price is a little high, but worth every penny in my opinion, we got half cheese, half PPM. When I say that the toppings were loaded on, I mean it. Somehow despite that the pizza held up fantastic and did not get soggy despite sitting in the car for 15 minutes to get back home. If you need a go to spot, this is it! read more

In my opinion Pizza 44 is the best brick oven pizza in the Burlington,VT area. As an out of state visitor I ordered pizza from Pizza 44 & Folinos. Pizza 44 was by far the closest to a NY style thin crust pizza. Their pizza sauce and cheese was spot on. They offer a variety of toppings to satisfy your preference. read more

The pizza was delicious! We had the Doug's marvelous maple, the dough was thin and crispy, but flavorful. The cheese and arugula worked so good with the maple syrup drizzle. Not too sweet, just right. Despite all the flavor it felt so light. read more

It's my first time giving anything less than a 5-star rave review, but I feel I must speak up about my extremely disappointing Pizza 44 trip last weekend. I've enjoyed ordering from Pizza 44 in the past as a South End resident, usually for board game nights in the winter. The staff are always warm and professional. But the poor timing on this order really ruined the experience. I placed my order for two pizzas and an appetizer around 4:30 PM. I received an email confirming the pickup time at 6:20 PM. I arrived at 6:15 PM to check in, and they said they were 15 minutes behind. I returned to check in at 6:35, and they told me it would be just a few more minutes (and they would text me when it was ready.) The "order is ready" came through at 7:00 PM while I was waiting outside. After standing at the pickup window behind a few disgruntled customers, I left the store at 7:07 PM, nearly an hour after the pickup time. Hungry, I opened the Mozzerella Frita to eat on the hood of my car, but it wasn't even warm. They were squishy, soggy, and cold. I would have eaten it while waiting had I been given the option. Also, the pizza (pictured) felt more rushed than my previous orders. The famous Alice had a strange undercooked texture to it so it was unusually oily and too sloppy to stay on the crust. I know every restaurant has off nights, and I respect how hard the team works to fill online orders. The employee explained that they had to turn off online orders because they were busy making pizzas for an event next door. But if this is the case in the future, then they should anticipate the high volume of pizzas when hosting a party and close the order system in advance. This visit was a huge bummer due to losing an hour of my Friday evening when I could have been notified and simply supported a take-out restaurant that wasn't swamped. Had I known there would be an extensive delay, I would not have gone to City Market beforehand. My milk and yogurts got too warm in the cooler in my car and started to sour before I could get them into my fridge. I had also hoped to order eight pizzas the following night for our school dance chaperones, but I don't have confidence in their pickup times after this. I'd be grateful if Pizza 44 could look into what went wrong with the pickup time messaging. I hope they connect with the software company to ensure customers are not misled like this. My bigger worry was that the employee didn't seem phased about the 45-minute wait, like it was a regular occurrence. Needless to say, $67 spent on this experience was not worth it. read more

The meatballs are fire! Nice welcoming staff and fantastic pizza - and that's saying a lot as a former NY'er who loves their pizza. Highly recommended. read more

We placed an order to go so we could eat at the Queen City brewery behind the restaurant. We waited an hour and checked in the order and was told 10 more minutes. Then after the 10 minute wait we got a phone call. They told us they did have the pizza we ordered. We got our money back and left. We have eaten here several times before, it used to be really good , but it has been slowly going downhill for the past year. We will never go to this restaurant again.. read more

We placed a to go order on a Tuesday night. The order was ready early, it was all packaged securely, & everything was hot. But I have very mixed opinions on the food: The good Spicy Maple Wings - sticky, & worth some finger-licking. Didn't even need any dipping sauces imo. The bad Meatballs - there was a very off-putting, fine mealy or grainy texture to these meatballs, and barely any seasoning. They had some sauce & cheese on top, but it was altogether so bland, I could barely taste much of anything. I don't know what was in them, but they were not good. The ugly Quattro Formaggio Sicilian pizza - if they would have called this a giant cheesy bread, it might have set expectations better. It was a bready crust so overly puffy that melted cheese stuck onto the inside of the closed pizza box. The only suggestion of sauce was the pinkish moist bread just under the thin cheese layer. The cheddar frico'd edges were slightly crispy, but it wasn't good enough to save this. Barely any ricotta, & overall bland & flavorless. We ordered a side of tomato sauce, but dipping it in that didn't save it either. Garlic Bites were not great, but not awful either. Maybe we made a bad choice with the Sicilian, vs the regular pizza. There's great pizza in this town, so I don't think I'll be back to find out. read more

Pizza 44 - Quattro Formaggio Sicilian. Not a good pizza. - Pizza Near Me - Burlington, Vermont

My partner and I have been going here for a while now, since before the new ordering system was put in place. I feel that while the food is still great, the service and experience have really dipped. They get our order wrong frequently, whether we order on the kiosk or face to face, and the process for pickup vs. dine-in is confusing. We've accidentally ordered for pickup when we meant to dine-in a few times now. I'm also disappointed to see them using AI generated images for their kids coloring pages. Y'all really can't use the plentiful amount of free-to-use coloring pages available online without generating some crap? Come on. read more

Food was great! Very good pizza. Place is very busy, poor parking but good pizza, easy takeout read more

Great pizza! Amazing food! Fantastic ambience! The service....without a shred of a single doubt, the WORST I've ever experienced. Wait staff doesn't care; has no clue whose order is who; constantly gives the wrong orders to people and PRAYS they won't notice. Truly unacceptable and NEVER worth the cost. Wait until some different people are hired before spending $60 on a large pepperoni pizza that takes TWO HOURS to come out on a SLOW night. read more

There is an overall condescending atmosphere. It is on the more expensive side. I've been a few times and I'm never greeted... The last time I went in, I had to stand there while the girl working the register and someone on the line finished their conversation. Then she was just standing there... So I said "Oh, hello, yes fine, thank you for asking" at which point she said sorry, he's having a bad day ... Anyway besides the lack of customer service and the overall condescending attitude the food is good. I had ordered the spicy Maple chicken wings and garlic knots, pictured below The chicken wings were very delicious, the garlic knots were just extra carbs I didn't need, lol. read more

Am hungry and tired from biking most of the day. Have to pack for my last night here and wanted to try this place. Checked online, online service is turned off. Called the restaurant, a nice woman answered asked if I could hold. Of course no problem! After 17 mins straight of nobody answering I was forced to hang up and try somewhere else. I know I don't work in this industry but 17 mins on hold with no end in sight? Anyone would be frustrated at that point. Sorry wish I could have tried your pizza... read more

VT isn't exactly known for their pizza, so I had low expectations, but I was super impressed! The crust was crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. The ricotta dollops were delicious. Food was amazing, workers were super nice and fun. Connor was amazing. Inside was nice and cozy.

This is the best pizza I have had since I moved to VT 6 months ago. The cast iron skillet pizza was unreal. Highly recommend!

We wanted someplace not on Church St after graduation ceremonies to grab a table. We decided to drive a bit and discovered Pizza 44. Before I say anything - It Was So Good! The room decor was rustic and hip. A nice assortment of local brews that were outstanding. The service was great. But, oh my... was the pizza awesome. Wood fire grilled. My wife told me I could not touch the veggie pizza because she dis not want to share. Barbecue and the Mickster were also out of this world. By the way you have to start with the Garlic Bites and do not forget the Brussel sprout Caesar salad. However... was the day more memorable because of the graduation or because of the lunch??? read more

What a great pizza spot! My group of 6 came here after we couldn't get into the brewery across the street, and I'm happy we pivoted in our plans! They have both takeout (order at the counter) and sit down service. Although we were initially told that the place was booked and we had to order takeout, a table became free and Pizza 44 was able to accommodate us at the table (I'm super appreciative of their flexibility). I loved the mix of classic and fun pizza options. I ordered the gluten free "Doug's Marvelous Maple" pizza with no cheese (dairy free), and it was an excellent and unique option. The bacon was plentiful and crispy, and the gluten free crust was AWESOME! Definitely not your typical gluten free crust. There's craft beer cans and beer on tap available too. Thank you, Pizza 44, for the delicious lunch. read more

We really enjoyed the pizza we got here and were SO excited they were able to make dairy-free garlic knots! I also loved how they didn't up charge vegan cheese when adapting from the main menu. The menu is unique and the service was excellent. Two things the be aware of: 1) You get the most for your $ by ordering from the main menu. The veggies we added were barely a handful but the "expected" toppings were plentiful. 2) Some items are cheaper when ordering online instead of in person. Overall this pizza hit the spot after a long road trip and was just as delicious the next day as leftovers. read more

Opening weekend. Very clean and large space connected to Queen City Brewery. Wood-fired pizza that was some of the best I've had. Excellent and very fast service. Love their specialty pizza offerings so far, delicious. I hope they plan on doing slices in the future. Can't fn wait to go back! UPDATE: Went back the following weekend and had an even better experience than the last time. The 'Go ask Alice' was incredible. Cooked perfectly and really great pesto. The crust is exactly like Folinos, which is my favorite. The chef even came to our table and gave us complimentary garlic bites. Really great service once again. Don't listen to Michael J's review. He went opening weekend at probably the busiest time of day and is gonna complain about the wait time. 1 star, really? it was that bad Michael? You ordered The Tims pie which is a specialty pizza that is supposed to have the most pepperoni on a pizza ever and then you complain it's too much pepperoni.. Why didn't you just order a regular pepperoni pie?? You really are a dummy. You obviously don't understand what a wood fired pizza is either. Go back to Dominos and stop trolling. For someone who says they are not advocating Dominos, you seem to know a lot about them...most likely an employee. read more

The decor: on point. The staff: friendly and passionate about Pizza. The pizza: best in Burlington; but let's break that down down further. The sauce was drinkable-good, the toppings were plentiful, and the crust was straddling the line of just crunchy enough and the right amount of chewy. We ordered The Tomato Pie and the Barbecue. Both pizzas were great! The former was margherita-like and they did it very well; the latter was a great twist on BBQ chicken 'za. Oh, and did I forget to mention the fried dough dessert?!? WOW! Very maple-y, but very delicious (it's big enough to share--be prepared). This will be our go-to pizza joint from now on, hands down. The 2 bad reviews on here are hilarious! I don't know what those guys have up their you-know-whats, but I hope they give Pizza 44 another try. read more

Amazing food and environment over all. Service is very fast, all of the dishes came out within 5 minutes. Dough is a great texture, sauce has a great flavor. Garlic knots are great, dipping sauce a little water/thin for my taste but apart from that absolutely amazing experience. 9.3/10! read more
