We were a little afraid to come at first because of the reviews, but we were pleasantly surprised! Pizza by far is the best we've had in New England! All the ingredients were fresh and high quality! We could see them slicing our prosciutto on site. The atmosphere was really nice, the decor is great, everything was clean, and just had good vibes overall. We sat next to a kind couple from Boston who loved the place as well! Our waiter was polite and everything came out in a timely manner. The place was lively, and had customers in and out the entire time! The owner acknowledged us when we entered and said goodbye and thank you when we departed! They are very upfront about pricing and how to order, so it wasn't a surprise. Overall it was a great experience!

Burlington, VT is so LUCKY to have a place this amazing. Best pizza in VT no contest, top three I've ever eaten. The sauce, crust, cook, cheese.... Ate here on Friday for the first time and haven't stopped thinking about it. It's THAT GOOD. Prosciutto to die for and an amazing bottle of wine. Wine glasses were gorgeous. Service was inviting, warm, not stuffy, and engaging. Would have loved a slightly lower price point for a bottle, but what we had was VERY well priced for any restaurant and a stunner of wine. Fun fact, you don't have to drink wine when you go. We did, and it was worth it. I can't believe I hadn't tried this spot sooner. I'm a creature of habit and so happy I finally added this to my rotation. I will never understand the complaints about this place being expensive when burgers and fries run you $20 these days. Yes, it was a high end pizza. We also left with half a pizza in a box. Anyone seen all the restaurants closing in Vermont recently? It's not easy to run any food business, and they do it efficiently and top tier. If it's out of your price point, go to Domino's. Absolutely no reason to tear down a restaurant making UNREAL food because you chose to not do your research. What ridiculous behavior from so many people. This will be without a doubt the new spot I take anyone coming to visit from out of town. I'll say it again louder for anyone in the back. WE ARE SO LUCKY TO HAVE THIS RESTAURANT IN VERMONT. Cant wait to come back and try another style of pie. Until then, this pizza will live rent free in my head. Thank you!

Pizza Ida, more like the pizza of my dreams.I traveled from California to get these pies, and Ida didn't let me down. Well-crafted, meticulously sourced ingredients, and only a true artisan can manage fermentation to get dough like this. My visit was in the summer of 2021, and I still think about these pizzas literally every day. I work in the industry and have eaten pizza everywhere--these still live in my memory as a top 3. Better than L'Industrie, better than Bianco. Great natty wines, bomb-ass salads with Vermont produce, and killer tunes. Respect to the husband-and-wife team running this place; it's a national treasure.

First let me say this is the best pizza I've ever had. It's truly delicious. We were welcomed when we walked in. It's a small but nice spot. We were curious to know more about their "story" as we'd learned about their pizza from a non local person. We decided to strike up a conversation with the owner. It took a minute to get him to open up, but once he did, he was very friendly and engaging. (In his defense, I showed up dressed in a formal suit which may have caused him to wonder what MY story was). I see some of the comments mention the price being high. At $40 a pie, it's not cheap. But, it felt like so much food, and we left there feeling like we got something really special. This isn't your typical pizza. Great food. Good service. Comfortable setting.

I had ordered a pie, regular cheese. To my surprise, it arrived with hair on it. Never again.

The owner is not nice, the pizza is wildly overpriced (like $50), and you're forced to tip the owner 20% for counter service. HARD PASS

Staff was…read moreexceedingly accommodating, vibe was relaxed yet loud enough to allow a privacy bubble, and I'll definitely plan a return visit when in town. We had the Margherita, Capricciosa, Caesar salad, and the Nutella pizza and flourless cake for dessert. Kids devoured their Margherita slices and we really enjoyed the acidic, salty, roasted, crusty, chewy, fluffy, perfectly balanced notes of the artichoke, olive, tomato, and cheese Capriciossa. I know Caesar is a boring choice but sometimes the stomach wants what it wants, and this one was worth noting; I especially enjoyed the little nub of chewy pizza dough bread with it. I got it anchovy-less, because I don't love crunching on the little dudes, personally. Accessible entrance for wheels is around the back via a ramp in the alley--there's a doorbell for entry. They provided crayons and a coloring sheet for kids which always wins me over instantly, and were highly aware and educated around food allergies and their menu. 5/5 and an easy recommendation all around.

It didn't take long to identify the state's core competencies: Producing world-class cheese Perfecting brick oven pizza Aggressively curating a very specific political vibe Curiously, only two of those things are edible, and unfortunately, you can't get pizza without being reminded of the third. Also worth noting: I'm not convinced any other style of pizza exists in Vermont. If it's not artisanal, wood-fired, and served on a reclaimed barn board, it apparently doesn't make the cut. So naturally, my brain locked in and I ate pizza two nights in a row like a creature of habit. Night 1: Pizzeria Verità Parking was...aspirationally convenient. After navigating downtown Burlington, which feels like a live-action sociology thesis, I made it inside. Let's address the elephant in the room: the price. With tip, I dropped nearly $30 for what amounted to a personal-sized pepperoni pizza that politely declined to fill me up. I assume part of the cost goes toward sourcing ethically massaged tomatoes or ensuring the mozzarella had a fulfilling upbringing. Now, to be fair, the pizza was excellent. Truly. Great crust, quality ingredients, clearly crafted by someone who cares deeply about their art. But the value? That's where things get a little...Vermont. Delicious? Absolutely. Filling? Not quite. Financially efficient? Only if you measure wealth in vibes. I went in skeptical, left impressed, and still had to consider a second dinner.

As a self-proclaimed pizza connoisseur, I recently found myself in Burlington for a work trip and…read moredecided to conduct what I can only describe as a two-night pizza field study. Vermont, as best I can tell, excels at three things. Producing elite-level cheese, perfecting brick oven pizza, and fully committing to a very particular political personality. Two of those things directly benefit me, so I leaned in. One immediate observation. If you are looking for anything other than wood-fired, artisanal pizza, you may want to adjust expectations. That appears to be the law of the land. Naturally, I adapted by eating pizza two nights in a row. Night 2: Folino's Pizza The next night I pivoted and ended up at Folino's, which turned out to be the value correction I needed. I ordered the MK pizza, which comes topped with caramelized onions and impressively large pepperoni slices that do not believe in subtlety. The difference was immediate. I paid less than the night before and received a pizza that was easily twice the size. This one actually acknowledged that I had not eaten since breakfast. The caramelized onions added a great balance of sweetness, the pepperoni brought both flavor and coverage, and the overall product hit that ideal intersection of quality and quantity. This pizza was not just good, it was filling. I left satisfied and with leftovers, which later doubled as an elite cold hotel breakfast. That alone puts it in a different category. The atmosphere at Folino's was laid-back, clean, and refreshingly unpretentious. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I showed up earlier than I had said I would, fully expecting to be told to wait, but they immediately jumped into making my order without hesitation. The location has a slightly rough-around-the-edges feel, but that seems consistent with parts of Burlington. It adds a little unpredictability to the experience, which at this point felt on brand.
