I had heard some really good things about Stone Korean and was excited to try. The staff is polite and friendly and the decor is nicer than most in the area. With that said, it is pricier than I was expecting, a basic main will run about $30 to start. I had the beef bulgogi and found it really lacking in flavor and spice. It was pretty dry and needed something to kick it up. The side dishes were helpful for this but I did end up asking for extra sauce. Good, solid Bibimbap. We got 2 tofu Bibimbap bowls from this restaurant this past Sunday. Portion size is a bit small, but I felt very full after I ate it. The hot sauce included has a nice kick to it - a little goes a long way. The Banchan was okay, not the best Banchan I've ever had, but the Kimchi Banchan was pretty good - as spicy and pungent as I expected. Customer service was great. The guy who helped us was really nice. I was debating between giving this place 4 stars or 5 stars. It isn't the best Korean restaurant food I've ever had. However, I realized how much I liked the food when I actually asked my husband to pick me up ANOTHER Bibimbap bowl from this restaurant on his way home the very next day after I ate the first one! And we had already had a different dinner planned for that night, a home-cooked one. Then when my husband said that this restaurant is closed on Mondays, I basically threw a mini fit. Wow. Okay. I actually like this place more than I'd realized. I almost never get take-out from the same place 2 nights in a row. Our food was ready in only 5 - 10 minutes. Our meal was great! Quality is on par with the quality we expect from good places in both Nor Cal and So Cal. For reference, So Cal is especially know for their top tier quality KBBQ. We are frequent eaters at AYCE KBBQ and Korean restaurants in CA. Price was appropriate for the amount of food you receive and the quality. The Kalbi and Hot Bibimbop was served sizzling hot! The medium spicy tofu soup was balanced between flavor and spice with the spicy not taking over. Again, the flavor of the food was well balanced and the banchan was to die for! As avid Korean food diners, we were not only satisfied but comforted by the quality and taste of our food which we have had trouble finding around the area (within 15 mins of Kirkland). Additionally, the staff was very friendly and communicative. We will definitely be coming back! A note on their current hours: They usually close at 10 PM but with COVID their hours have been adjusted to approximately 9:30 on Friday and Saturday and 9:00 on weekdays with last dine-in seating 45 mins before closing and last phone orders placed 20 mins before closing. read more

Ordered delivery from here Friday after noticing the new location opened up in Bothell. Overall, it was pretty good...took about 45minutes pretty early Friday evening, so I'd expect a decent wait if you decide to order takeout/delivery... Biggest issue: One of the dishes we requested as vegetarian (DDUHK-BOHK-GHI) definitely had some fish cake pieces(?) in it - not exactly a fun surprise for a 20+ year, pregnant vegetarian to come across.... The veggie pancake was phenomenal, veggie fried rice was okay, veggie stir fry was delicious (although a lot of the sauce leaked out of the cardboard container.... It was contained in a plastic bag... But I think a different container for takeout of that dish would be advisable...). We ended up with a Kalbi we didn't order that the meat eaters enjoyed, and they seemed to like the spicy chicken bolgogi. Overall, definitely a few kinks need to be worked out, and I'm a little freaked after the surprise meat attack.... But I'd go back and grab just the veggie pancake for sure. read more

We came in on a weeknight so it wasn't super busy. Tables were very spacious inside. Everything was amazingg, this is probably my new Korean spot :) Their combos are perfect for people who want to try different Korean foods from bibimbap to their beef to the tofu soup! You pretty much get the best of both worlds. The soft tofu soup was super flavorful. We have been frequenting Stone in Bothell for about a year. Their price is on the higher side but I'm finding all the restaurants have high price these days. I like Stone because they are generous about refilling all the side dishes. Other Korean restaurants refill side dishes, too but they don't typically refill Korean style egg roll nor acorn jelly bur Stone happily does. Overall their food is good and I like the fact that it's close to my home for last minute Korean food craving. My husband says their fried chicken is amazing. read more

The server just told us not to not to come back if we aren't prepared to tip. I asked whether their employer was short changing them and not paying them the increased market wage for servers in king county. He said, he is paid well but it's customary to tip. Then he suggested we eat at Taco Bell because they don't ask for a tip. I'm sorry, you get paid the same, why should you expect a tip but not them? I'd argue their job is harder. To the owners, we are regulars and your staff are turning away at least $60 of business every time we don't come in. We won't be coming back and we will let others know not to come here. If there were 6 or more of us, I would tip. But tipping just to bring food to the table, no extra services provided etc makes little sense when you aren't paid less than a retail or fast food employee. It's not our job to compensate you adequately. It's your employer's job. read more

We ate at Stone Korean in Bothell coming home from SeaTac airport Tuesday evening about 8 PM. They close at 9. We were hungry and ordered Japchae and tofu soup. We had the normal banchan and the service was fast and very pleasant. The restaurant was quite busy for late but everything came quickly and was very good for a nice light dinner. Overall, the service is great and the food comes out very quick. The food was okay as certain dishes were too sweet or lack flavor. The fried chicken was good; would recommend getting the 1/2 & 1/2. We got the squid which I was disappointed as the flavor didn't get into the squid. It was overwhelmingly covered with vegetables. The steam egg was good but wish it had more savory broth to it. I share this with the hope that the restaurant management will make meaningful changes. I called in a large pick up order for 10 people over the phone, two days before the pick up date. Because the food was for an important meeting, I repeatedly got reassurance over the phone that the food will be ready by the agreed upon date and time. I even called again the day before and talked to a different worker, who again reassured me that the order will be ready. Given the multiple reassurances from different workers, I felt confident that the order will be ready as agreed upon. So imagine my dismay (remember, important meeting) when I walked into the restaurant asking for my pickup order, only to have the worker look at me blankly and say that they didn't have a call in order. She then asked me if I called the right restaurant. When I said yes, she then proceeded to call someone on the phone and ask about the situation. Also by this time, she found a handwritten note on the counter that was my order. At that point, it was pretty clear that there was an error made on the part of the restaurant - and a significant one at that. The worker said they will try to make the large order right away, and went to the back to tell the kitchen staff about it. I heard the kitchen staff say loudly (I am guessing they didn't know I can understand Korean), in Korean, "He should just go somewhere else then." To the restaurant's credit, they did make the food super fast (but I still had to wait 15 minutes) and gave me extra portion as an apology. But what I needed was not extra portion, but for the order to be ready on time to be picked up so that I could accommodate my guests. For that simple thing to not happen even after multiple efforts to confirm pick up details was really unprofessional. Furthermore, the kitchen staff complaining loudly that the customer who has been wronged should just go somewhere else is troubling and I hope that the restaurant will provide adequate training to prevent such occurrences. read more

DELICIOUS! We are currently traveling cross country in our RV, and were staying at the RV Park across the street. The food was DELICIOUS! We ordered the veggie pancake, the jab chae, and the veggie bi bim bap. All of the little appetizer/side dishes they brought us were fantastic, and the pancake was our favorite. Recommend 10/10 times. Felt very authentic Korean. The plates were also nice and big. However, I do believe what makes this place special is their service. We had 2 servers who were extremely kind, and were able to recommend the perfect dishes for us, since we are vegetarian. One of our favorite restaurants we've eaten at during our trip! Price I feel is bit heavy but that is normal in Seattle with Korean Food unless you head to Federal Way or Lynnwood. Service was okay but I one of the server kind of dismissed our request when we found a eyelash in the seafood pancake. They made us a new one but they was she said sounded a bit dismissive. I have no words that describe how great our time was here. We are always looking for a new place to try and we decided to try this place out. CUSTOMER SERVICE. Exceptional! Our server(s) were so attentive and made sure to explain things we didn't understand and also gave recommendations when we were making choices. ATMOSPHERE. Clean, open and airy. FOOD. Fan-freaking-tastic. The Seafood Pancake was devoured (I only got one piece, you snooze you lose). The Spicy Squid was so delicious. And the Seafood Tofu Soup. YUMMY. We will be back! I make a habit of Keeping the customer copy and writing the exact details of what i paid for at the end of a meal for my own record purposes. To my surprise when i got my credit card statement, this restaurant padded the total amount, completely different from what I wrote down in the total section. The best seafood pancake in town. Super crispy, loaded with seafood & veg and the sauce, while not plentiful (you can always ask for more), was perfect. Everything else is standard Korean, the banchan fresh and perfectly sized (you can always ask for more!). The tofu soups are flavorful and full of tofu, meat and veg. I took an order of fried chicken to go, half sauced, half plain, and it was carefully packed and super crunchy when I got home. Yes, it IS different than 'regular' fried chicken, it's practice whole chicken in finger sized pieces, and is worth the price. The service is always super friendly and attentive. The food is excellent and well priced but not a lot of choices if you are gluten free. They served me something they said was gluten free and I had a horrible reaction so I know they are not careful . However , if you don't have gluten issues , it's super fun here, a very hip vibe and you get a wonderful variety of food that is all amazingly tasty . They would get five star from me if I didn't have gluten sensitivity's but since I do, and they served me some thing they said was gluten-free and I had a BAD reaction, I had to mark them two stars down .
