So many awards!

Shoutout to Nathan!! He is one of Stone Hill's owners and caught us a few times in the main shop to tell us more about their exquisite research, testing, creation, farming, and winemaking processes! If you're looking for a winemaking family who is passionate about the details - down to the genetics and ancestors of their grapes - then look no further! We would have loved a tour, but they were booked for the day (go early to make sure you get a spot!), but the tasting was a great second option! For $15 you try six wines from their very large list. They'll teach you about each one too. If you like bourbons or whiskey, I'd highly recommend their Cream Sherry - it won 12th best American wine at the Decanter Wold Wine Competition (The world's largest and most influential wine competition) in recent years (just enjoy slowly - it's 19%!!). Also, they make their wines very affordable! From $11-$40, everything is in reach! (They do have a $75 reserve Norton on the list as of May 2026.) You can enjoy the restaurant on site, shop alllll the wine accessories, relax on their patio above the hills of vines, play a game of corn hole, and pose for a few photos. They've been continuously farming (taking a break from wine only during prohibition) for 179 years! You won't regret a visit if you enjoy wine!

Came here on a Saturday around 2:30 for a wine tour with a group of 12. Honestly, I wasn't really a fan of the experience. The lady at the register wasn't the friendliest. We all wanted to do the wine tasting together, but she let 3 of our friends go in one tasting room and told the rest of us we had to wait until 3:30 for another one. Since we came together, we decided not to do it at all. The prices were reasonable, and the views of the town were really pretty. We walked down to the other bar and sitting area, but they were pretty much out of everything. No brats, the slush machine was down, so that was disappointing. We figured we'd just eat at the Vintage restaurant on the property, but they told us they weren't seating anyone until 4:00. It was just kind of one thing after another. The property is beautiful, but the customer service and everything being unavailable definitely put a damper on the

We visited the Stone Hill Winery with my wife's sister and her husband. We did the guided tour of the wine cellars which actually have quite a bit of history (dug by hand, etc.). Our tour guide was great and we really enjoyed the tour. We enjoyed a delightful lunch on the patio - the food and service were quite good. My only criticism of the dining experience was when the waitress brough the check and my wife said she was picking it up and the waitress looked at the check and said "well, you're getting off pretty cheap". I think that comment was rude and uncalled for. We did buy some wine to take with us and enjoyed our visit despite the waitresses' comment.

Location. Wine. Environment. Nonstop bustle. This venue is just hands down, beautiful. Stone Hill is a must visit when you're in town - do not opt out for the tour. This place has such amazing history, dating back to 1847. Stunning!

It was a nice little stopover. Paid for a tasting at the counter; they gave us a couple of tokens, and then we walked towards the back for the tasting. Wine was Ok. Service was friendly. We did purchase a bottle of the Old Vine Norton to try some time later.

The restaurant was very neat...an old horse barn with the stalls converted to booth seating. We were very excited to try some of the German food since we seem to have less and less of those and it was delicious. The woman that waited on us was very friendly and we were in and out in less than hour as we were trying to make the 12:30 tour so that made us happy. The tour was free and very interesting. We learned some very interesting things we had no idea about. I would recommend it if you are in the area.

The wine/gift shop is wonderful with many great options. The tasting room is fun. There are awesome cacti in the sunroom. Be sure to take the winery tour--it's worth visiting where they make the wine!

We had such a pleasant experience at Stone Hill Winery for a tasting and tour. Jill was THE BEST- I would highly recommend requesting her if you pay them a visit! The history on the tour was so interesting and we found a handful of wines we loved. We ended up buying 6 bottles but didn't notice until we got home that they gave us the wrong ones- that's really our only complaint. I also wished they had a better selection of merchandise!

Went for dinner which was after winery hours. Barn like setting , casual and welcoming. Made reservations for our group of six. Service was slow and we had to repeat our orders to the waitress as she lost our originals. We ordered some starters , cheeses, potato pancake for sharing. We're ample and good. Most of us ordered German dishes which were typical, like cutlets, potato salad, cabbage. Salads included with meal and bread / rolls service . Did not leave hungry. Medium prices. Wine by the glass very reasonably priced. Beer available.

Stopped by Stone Hill for a tasting while riding the Trolley in Hermann. The place is much bigger than anywhere else and their selection of wine is huge. Their wines were probably my favorite of the ones we tried in Hermann. Employees were kind, but nothing outstanding.

If you've only got time for one winery in Hermann, this is it. Great view. Plenty big. Good wine selection. Free tours. Paid tastings. $15. You choose 6 wines and you keep the glass. Stemless. The young lady who did our tasting was friendly. Minus one star because oyster crackers or saltines would have been helpful between tastes.

We arrived just in time for a free tour! Our informative guide escorted us to underground cellars and explained the history of Stone Hill+ prohibition era and what led to today's family continuing ownership. After tasting a few whites and reds, we opted for the Hellbender Blanc + a bottle of Steinberg Rose (we typically settle on red wine, but these two were the stars). We kept our stemless wine glass, a souvenir w/ the $15 tasting fee. Next: lunch at Vintage. The ruben sandwich was my favorite! Vintage is a gem among all the Hermann restaurants. ** Odd as it sounds, good ole Sharp Corner burgers are a close 2nd.

Great Lunch option in Hermann MO. We ordered buffalo ranch chicken sandwich, and the German Duo which includes half portion of schweineschnitzel, bratwurst, and German potato salad. We also enjoyed the bread pudding desert. Gluten free options and flexible with food allergies. Clean restaurant and good service. Thank you.

We love this winery. The wine tasting is fun, and then grab a bottle, cheese and crackers and sit outside and enjoy the pretty hillside.

Tasting room, boring. Staff unfriendly. Parking fair. Unimpressed with the wine. I can just go to my Handee Mart.

A group of 8 woo girls who had just paid $80 to enter were trying to convince themselves that they weren't just taken advantage of. they were - we all were. The staff all seemed very depressed or anxious - they all seem ashamed of themselves. the thing I liked most about this place was all the Pro freedom/USA signs mixed in with a bunch of signs very angrily telling you what not to do, what not to be, etc. if you like irony and can have fun in a TRULY crappy place, it is totally worth it to come to this place ONCE but I feel like the average person is just looking for good value and good food and good wine. this place has none of that. so please listen to your trolley drivers - they are NOT lying or embellishing

On this visit, we tried the Strawberry Rita slushy (it was too sweet for my taste but sweet wine/slushy drinkers would love it). We also did tasting flights inside their tasting room. It costs $10 per tasting flight- you can pick either a dry or sweet flight. Each flight also includes a stemless glass. It's a good deal. My partner and I tried both flights (we usually drink dry wine, but enjoyed both flights). They have absolutely delicious wine. We were very impressed and came home with several bottles. The servers were very friendly. There is a ton of outdoor seating, including under a covered patio. Lots of picnic tables and friendly cats around to greet you. The wine tasting was 6 sweets and semi sweets. Very good time was had. Food was served here and I ordered chicken shredded nachos which was delicious and meaty. My friends ordered flat breads which in my opinion both tasted like cheese bread and lacked flavoring. Seating was available, live band played to groove too. Souvenir shop and wine slushes. No complaints, I really enjoyed it here. Kudus to friendly staff and a clean property.
