Great burgers! This place is a hidden gem! Very unique burgers on the menu. Even the kids burger is huge.

Food is good, but gonna quit going now and take my business elsewhere. Call in an order to go for a kids meal. I order the kid's meal not because I'm cheap, but because it fills me up now that I'm old. Anyways the price goes up from $8 to $10 because I'm not a kid and didn't lie to them over the phone plus I even tipped them almost $3 on a takeout order. I'll take my business elsewhere and do go to the other Stomp's on Bay Area. If not I'll just do Whataburger cause it's always fresh and hot there and no upcharge when ordering a kids meal. read more

Why 5 stars? Because Merry Christmas, but aside from that... I really liked this place. --- --- --- My first experience with Stomp's was when they catered my brother's rehearsal dinner. They drove their truck to my parent's house and served up delicious burgers from the street. They could not have been friendlier people. A couple months later, I went to visit their actual restaurant and got fat on ground beef there as well. I've tried the Southern Bell and the Honkey Tonk -you can't go wrong with either. If you're near Kemah, skip the touristy stuff on the boardwalk and get the best food in the area here! read more

Amazing...... food, service and great prices too! This is definitely one of those spots that the locals frequent. Dont let the outside fool ya, there is plenty of parking, I'm guessing it can get very busy at lunchtime during the week. we went on a Saturday afternoon, it was moderately busy, it's not real big inside but if I had to wait I would for sure... it's that good! I had a taco salad, the portion was way more than I could eat there were several salads on the menu but the burgers are what their claim to fame is. I ate there over a year ago & got sick. More recently I thought I'd give them another shot bc I ate there several times shortly after they opened & it was a positive experience. So, I ordered a burger with guacamole to pick up. When I got there, I added a pc of overpriced pie to my order. Complete honesty, the meat was spongy, as if had been soaked in water & not squeezed out. It was awful. I spit out my first bite & gave the rest to my dog. Oh well, I thought, at least I had the pc of pie... Nope. The pie smelled like it had absorbed the scent of its plastic container. The odor was so strong that it affected the flavor. The cashier was dismissive & rude & expected a tip, even for a pick up, to-go order. They've lost my business & I will never recommend this place to anyone. read more

I like this place. This is not fast food. If you are in hurry, keep going. They move slowly but the food is good. The cheese dip with poblano peppers and bacon is delicious. It could be a little hotter temperature wise but still good. Burgers are so tasty! This is real meat formed into a patty and grilled. You can see it and you can taste it. I've driven by here many times and always wanted to try it. We came in with a group of 8 during COVID. Everything very safe. Burgers were excellent. Staff friendly. My review loses one star because one in our party ordered grilled fish. Waitress brought out fried. Tried to return it for grilled and were told they didn't have the grilled option available tonight, so left the fried in front of the customer. I think the guest should have been notified that it wasn't available when ordering(or after finding out from the kitchen)so she could order something else. At the very least, Stomps should have comped the meal. read more

Just stopped in with my wife on Sunday. What an embarrassment. 2 dirty tables outside. 4 dirty tables inside. 2 waitresses cleaning a large dirty table, didn't even acknowledge us as we sat down.....right next to them. We sat for 10 minutes, saw 3 different waitresses, and nobody came by. I understand being busy, and understaffed, but this was ridiculous. We both have worked in restaurants in the past, and we both agree that a simple "hello", or "sorry we are busy, we will be with you shortly", would be all we needed to wait. Their hamburgers are the BEST and we LOVE going there!!!! But until they can get rid of the fly issue - I'm afraid we won't come back. There were no fly traps or fly paper - and we are concerned that since there were soooo many flying around - that they may/could be all over the food in the kitchen - then serving it to guests. We had to cover our food and drinks while eating. We get it - doors open and close all the time - been in the restaurant business for many years, and they are pests - but it's not a good for the business. Best burgers ever! Your going to need two hands to hold this burger it's so BIG! Love the variety of sides but fries,onion rings and tots usually limp and undercooked. I usually just pop them in my air fryer for a second though and they come out better, plus any extra grease drops to bottom of air fryer. Husband and I both had chicken sandwiches. He added grilled onion to his. He said it was ok but that the ck was too thin for his liking. I on the other hand like my chicken a little thinner personally. I added avocado and jalapeños. My ck was tough and dry. If the chicken hadn't been pressed for so long on grill it may had been pretty good. I hate to say this but it was a poor quality. The cook needs to really watch it a little better. we actually love this place and always come to this location. But today was not good me and my mother and little one went in they saw us and we sat in a booth in the back. we waited patiently for a while a couple walks in they sit in the booth behind us. they get served menus and their drinks mean while we had already been there 20 minutes and hadn't even got menus yet. then another couple comes in and they got served menus drinks and already getting they order taken. my mother says let's leave cause even my toddler is getting cranky cause he's hungry. we ended up getting our drinks. so I was like ok let's go to the other location. my mom n toddler go outside and I stayed to at least pay for our drinks. Conveniently located near La Brisa (the good one on 146) and Bucee's on 96, what you have here is a tasty burger situation, even better than Jules considered Big Kahuna Burger to be in the film Pulp Fiction. The staff of Tookie's moved further down 146 into Bacliff recently. I was here a few weeks ago and it was still pretty brand-spanking-new. You are going to miss it if you are not paying attention. If you are coming from Kemah or you turned in off of 96 onto 146, it is pretty close after the 96 intersection. If you hit the strip club or La Brisa you have gone too far. The building is sort of an older looking rustic house with a small parking lot right in front of the house's front door. The building is not huge, things do fill up at lunch. They open at 11am and I got there at about 10:55am. The waitstaff was awesome, they did not throw a tantrum and ask us to leave, instead they seated us and we had already ordered our big tasty burgers and drinks before they had "officially opened" - and that is just the beginning of how awesome this place is. The menu is large and diverse in the world of burger-ology. They have a turkey burger for the health conscious. They have a chili burger for the chili lover. They had a tasty jalapeno based topping burger for someone like me. And unlike most big juicy burger places, you can choose white or wheat. Me and my wheat bun were happy with our first date. Another reason why I really like this place is that they do not price gouge you to do fun things like get 1/2 order of fries and 1/2 order of onion rings for the truly indecisive person who wants to eat both, but does not want full orders of both right meow. Burger: high quality ingredients for toppings, apportioned just right in relation to the meat and bun. The meat itself is juicy, tasty, and cooked to perfection. It comes out warm and you can tell it is fresh, it is not a Whataburger scenario at all. The bun is a perfect compliment, it is sized correctly for the meat, it does not swallow the burger and it is not a tiny little cracker on top of meat either. Fries: they are the larger, heftier sort of fry. It is not a shoe string fry like a Steak and Shake situation. It is more like the kind you get at the supermarket with a big helping of potato inside the skin. They are not bad. It was not amazing, blow your mind fries. 1/2 order was perfect. Onion rings: I am not an expert on what makes an onion ring perfection, but I did enjoy eating these. They are a bit greasy, but I believe that is the point of them, no? Wanting to go somewhere other than our usual haunts, we decided to go to Stomps after reading the great reviews. First impressions are everything (sorry that's the Realtor in me) and when I walked in, I immediately thought this place was a serious dive, NOT that I have an issue with dives, but when they have warning signs about not tripping on the super uneven floor, then I have a little bit of an issue. There was only 1 available table in the main area, which was dirty, so we sat in the "add-on" in the back. We were greeted by the server fairly quickly and she brought us our drinks, but when she came back to take our order, the Hubs was not ready, so we asked for just another minute so he could decide. Well that turned into being a 15 minute wait and I was getting pretty hangry by that time. I ordered the Bison burger with no cheese and no mayo. So when they brought my burger out, loaded down with cheese, I started to question if this was even my order, especially since they tried to bring someone else's food to us prior to ours coming out and totally forgot about another table's order. The burger was good (surprisingly juicy for Bison since it's so lean), but it wasn't better than what I could get a Tookie's and definitely not better than what hubs makes at home. So, while it was an average burger, the wait time to order and get our food was too long for me ... I think I'll stick to Tookie's or just stay home. LOL! read more

The runner up in the Stomp's v. Tookie's burger challenge. The burger here just wasn't as good. Here is why. The patty was not as well seasoned, nor did it have that flavorful crust on the outside of the meat. I also found that the bun here was rather much. I found myself thinking about eating bread instead of a burger. I am bummed. I was hoping for more, given the recommendation s I had. The atmoshere here is less party time, and that can be a good thing. It is kid friendly here. The service was good as well. Honestly, we will likely be back and will try other items. I would tell folks that Stomp's is a good place to stop while in the area. read more
