Complete honesty, the meat was spongy, as if had been soaked in water & not squeezed out. It was awful. I spit out my first bite & gave the rest to my dog. Oh well, I thought, at least I had the pc of pie... Nope. The pie smelled like it had absorbed the scent of its plastic container. The odor was so strong that it affected the flavor. Another one of my favorite burger joints in the Houston - Galveston area. I've been coming here since it first opened and never had a bad meal. The burgers are fresh, never frozen hand-formed beef, which is almost a must for me these days. The patties are about 5oz each and have an average thickness. You can order a double on any specialty burger for $2 more. These Angus burgers have that greasy burger smell and taste, so kudos to that!! I typically order the hog wild burger, with onion rings. Rings are hand battered, I never order the fries since they aren't fresh cut, but frozen, probably from Sysco. You can choose either thin-cut or thick-cut onion rings. You should tell them how you want your patty cooked, because they don't ask you, otherwise you might end up with a semi dry burger. I heard a horror story about my former colleague coming here and finding something very unusual in his burger patty one time, and it was so bad, they comped him for his entire meal, plus a dessert. Nothing bad has happened to me, so I'll keep coming here every chance I get. I much prefer Stomp's to the higher priced Tookie's burgers in seabrook. read more

I've driven by here many times and always wanted to try it. We came in with a group of 8 during COVID. Everything very safe. Burgers were excellent. Staff friendly. My review loses one star because one in our party ordered grilled fish. Waitress brought out fried. Tried to return it for grilled and were told they didn't have the grilled option available tonight, so left the fried in front of the customer. I think the guest should have been notified that it wasn't available when ordering(or after finding out from the kitchen)so she could order something else. At the very least, Stomps should have comped the meal. read more

What an embarrassment. 2 dirty tables outside. 4 dirty tables inside. 2 waitresses cleaning a large dirty table, didn't even acknowledge us as we sat down.....right next to them. We sat for 10 minutes, saw 3 different waitresses, and nobody came by. I understand being busy, and understaffed, but this was ridiculous. We both have worked in restaurants in the past, and we both agree that a simple "hello", or "sorry we are busy, we will be with you shortly", would be all we needed to wait. Their hamburgers are the BEST and we LOVE going there!!!! But until they can get rid of the fly issue - I'm afraid we won't come back. There were no fly traps or fly paper - and we are concerned that since there were soooo many flying around - that they may/could be all over the food in the kitchen - then serving it to guests. We had to cover our food and drinks while eating. We get it - doors open and close all the time - been in the restaurant business for many years, and they are pests - but it's not a good for the business. Best burgers ever! Your going to need two hands to hold this burger it's so BIG! Love the variety of sides but fries,onion rings and tots usually limp and undercooked. I usually just pop them in my air fryer for a second though and they come out better, plus any extra grease drops to bottom of air fryer. Husband and I both had chicken sandwiches. He added grilled onion to his. He said it was ok but that the ck was too thin for his liking. I on the other hand like my chicken a little thinner personally. I added avocado and jalapeños. My ck was tough and dry. If the chicken hadn't been pressed for so long on grill it may had been pretty good. I hate to say this but it was a poor quality. The cook needs to really watch it a little better. The fixings were nice and fresh, they don't skimp on portion. The wait was not long at all and the sweet tea was good. The tater tot's were good and a huge size. Definitely enough for 2. Stomps is my go to place for a good juicy hamburger. It's always packed when I go! Don't expect perfect service or a really temperature cool atmosphere, there has to be something wrong with the AC, but definitely a place to check out!
