We love stomps! It is always consistently good burgers and so many fry options! The variety of the moments will satisfy any taste buds! The restaurant is always clean and in a prime location! We have always had great service- our waiter was super patient with my son who always wants to order for himself at 4 years old. The size of the burgers and prices are super reasonable! Save your money folks. This place is a has been. I visited yesterday (7/18/26) and the only thing they got right were our drinks. 3 of us visited. We ordered burgers, each medium rare. These burgers were so overcooked, I had to wonder just how many times they were cooked. Seriously, the burgers were crunchier than the tater tots. Those too were overcooked. Whoever was manning that grill yesterday at 4:30 needs to be fired before they fire another meal. Onion rings were ordered. What was received was onion skins. I never knew those could be battered and fried. Again burnt food. I used to have fond memories of stomps. Well, something changed and now they're due for another change. That cook SUCKS. $78 for 3 burgers 3 tots/o-rings 3 drinks was totally out of line. Stomps is overrated, overpriced, and overcooked. I'll never return. They burned the bridge too. read more

I have been wanting to come to Stomps for several years now. Distance and other plans have kept me away until a week ago when I had dinner there. It's a true burger 'joint' building wise that oozes character. There is a small parking lot adjacent to the building with another lot across the street. I ordered the Stomps Burger dressed for $8 and added the 1/2 and 1/2 order of fries and onion rings for another $6 as everything here is ordered a la carte. Our waitress recommended the thick rings (they also offer thin rings too). She said she liked the thick ones better so I deferred to her suggestion. The food was ready in less than 15 minutes. The burger is an 8 oz. angus beef homemade patty and they offer a 2 patty version for another $4. 1/2 lb. was plenty for me and a nice white bread bun held it all together until the end. The burger was delicious! It was a hearty and a filling piece of perfection (5). I loved it and will say the Stomp's reputation for burgers is safe to me. Another thing I really liked was that it was a 1/2 lb. dressed burger on a nice bun for only $8. A real deal that other burger places should try to copy both quality and price wise. The rings were cut thick and I really liked the batter they were cooked in making them tasty. However the thick rings also held some grease (3.5). Next time I will try the thin cut rings as they should taste as good and hopefully be less greasy. The fries were hot and slightly seasoned and I liked them too. Our table service was warm and friendly. The only reason I don't give 5 stars for this meal is the onion rings being greasy and they weren't too bad. Honest Review I always like to try these little local spots that have not gotten too full of themselves. From the sound of things, I arrive after a lunch rush. The limited staff was trying hard to get things cleaned up and turned around. I was a little confuse at the sign to "Seat Yourself". Was this a walk-up or should I expect service? Found a table in the rear and waited before I tried to find a menu. Notices another table being served and returned to my table and motioned to someone it needed wiped down. Certainly nothing I would be upset about in a small place. Overall, the staff was pleasant and light. Very friendly and polite. They were attentive and made sure I was taken care of for my visit. Ordered a Tea and the "Big State Burger" as listed "8oz Angus Beef Patty, Philly Steak,Tomato,Onion,Mayo, Fries & Thick Onion Ring. Food came out of the kitchen fast. And I mean REALLY fast, too fast. It seemed like the Philly steak ad been microwaved to the point of molten lead before being put between the patty and the bun. The top bun was hot enough to be hard to hold. This also changed the texture of the bun. I don't think the bun had been toasted. It may have helped combat the molten lead that was once something like philly steak. The bun quality, prior to it's thrashing seemed of exceptional quality and not just whatever the bakery had. The patty looked to be the best part of this plate. Listed as 8 oz. of beef, because saying a half pound seems harder. The patty looked well seared. Great color. Exactly what a great hamburger patty should look like. I was hoping I would taste that great flavor of well-cooked beef patty. That flavor seemed like it wanted to be there. But my guess is that somewhere along the way they had a great seasoning that everyone loved and raved about. and after a few years, the amount of this seasoning just continued to increase and increase until it went from a nice seasoning to more a salt brine for each burger. As I said before, the food came out too fast. It told me that some if not all of my lunch was pre-made or partially cooked and then microwaved when I ordered. Hint: Burger was too hot to handle, and the fries and onion ring were not. I will try the place again in the not-so-distant future just to see if this was a one-off. read more

Mixed review!!! Weekend service was sad. The two young women barely spoke, and never smiled. My lunch was actually really good. I had the burger with Philly steak on top. My wife on the other hand had the chili burger and 40 minutes later was overtaken by food poisoning. She had a pretty severe case. We suspect foul chili since I was not affected. I question the beer signs inside and bottles on the wall when they don't offer alcohol. Guess our first time there will be our last. Buyers be ware. read more

I have been here a few times over the last year or so. They have two locations I know about, one in Bay Area blvd, and one in 146 near 96. Both are vastly different in the ambience and layout. The 146 location is a little country charm and the Bay Area location a bit more upscale without pretense. I like the food at both, but I prefer the Bay Area location. It does have the ability to accommodate too many people, I'd say 25 or more would be nearly impossible. I believe the Bay Area location executes its servings better than the original location in 146. Great burgers and Frito pie is in the menu! The food is great usually, although have had a miss or two. I know a few people that eat at both locations, and it's a preference for most. out of all the burger, places, I believe this is my favorite! Food is always freshly made, and reasonably priced. They have the thin onion rings that I love and everything is just simply delicious!! That juicy burger hit all the right spots (shoutout to the Sun-Up burger's fried egg, crispy bacon, creamy avocado, and gooey cheese), but those rattlesnake eggs stole the show. Had a hefty hankering for a frankfurter couple moons back. Been aching for a hot long sausage duct between warm bread and other comestibles. You know I had to drench that dog, so I made sure to bring my special Tupperware that I haul around just for the occasion. When I finally got that long meat stick I couldn't believe it, it seemed bigger than before, thicker. I even asked the staff, is this the same sausage I always knew and loved? Rest assured it was, and boy was it.. I sat and salivated as I dressed my dog in my special sauce, I damn near completely disassembled that big thing. After I let it marinating in the spread it was time for me to reassemble this thick banger. Even at less than room temp after soaking for a while, it coated my palette and sunk to the depths of my breadbasket. I sent my adult son to eat there today may 17,2025 at 5 pm , food seemed ok but about 30-45 min after he ate he got very sick, took him to the hospital and they said he got food poisoning apparently something was spoiled or not properly prepared! Beware read more

I don't go for all of the funky burgers on a menu. I like them old school, and Stomp's is my place for that. This place is a semi-dive, which is wonderful. The service is fantastic and the prices are more than fair. Plus, any diner with taste buds leaves here full. The burgers are why we come here. No matter what your toppings are, these folks produce a burger that has been nicely seared -- with enough juice that you'll need extra napkins. They don't over-season. Neither do they mix in a bunch of odd meat and other ingredients. Want a burger that'll make you slap your pappy? Stomp's Burger Joint is the place. **October 25, 2019 Update** Stomp's is good. Really good. But I just learned that they apply a 5 percent gratuity to all to-go orders (unless you tell them not to). First, this is presumptuous as hell. I'm tipping on a to-go order without my knowledge? Seriously, Stomp's? The bottom line is that tipping is out of control. I've seen tip jars on counters, drive-through windows (and left negative reviews for all of the above) and now ... I learn that I'm being charged an additional 5 percent "gratuity" for a to-go order. A gratuity is just that. By definition, it's hardly something that should be tacked onto a bill automatically. In this case, it's even worse, because I was only handed a bag. Shame on you, Stomp's.
