TLDR: The company was nice and polite, labor is $630/hr We had a leak in a hose pipe. I want to start with the positive. The company was fantastic and responsive. The two employees that arrived were nice, conversational and approachable. We were given a time of between 1pm and 3pm for an arrival, which was perfect since I had a work meeting via Zoom I needed to attend. At 11:45am I get a text saying they're on their way and would arrive in half an hour. I ended up having to cancel my work meeting last minute. Not the best, but oh well. There was a $79.86 service fee to drive out to our house. The men let me know they didn't have some parts and I said that's fine and asked what day they could return, to which they said to my surprise they could fix the problem now. And they did, however we were charged $800 for a max $40 part, shutting off the water, and installing/caulking the part. I have a time stamped receipt at 12:51pm, meaning that minus the $40 part, the $80 service charge, and let's say they use a brand new tube of caulk and gun each time at $12tube and a moderate $30 gun, labor was $630/hour. This was my first time needing a plumber and I was a bit surprised by this. Also, id asked when booking the appt for a quote while they were here for installing a tub and toilet. The men were so kind, but let me know the boss would have to do that. I can't see myself paying another $80 for that quite. Also, our finished project is a hole in our closet and instructions to cut out and replace the drywall ourselves and install an access panel. Not mad, I paid for the service, but one might want to ask about their hourly rate while here. I was generous with their parts and tools cost, bit $630/hour is way too much for a hole in the wall. This wasn't an emergency and could have been attended to at any point and no emergency fee was outlined either with the dates offered or the men on site, nor on the invoice. read more

I would expect a quality company that cares about their customers to use common sense instead of what their computer is telling you to charge. I have to share my experience with Stollwerck Plumbing. I live on Whidbey Island. I woke up to no water and water running from my property into Deer Lake. After shutting off the water line to the house I called 10 plumbers on Whidbey Island for help. All I got was an answering machine. I decided to try the mainland. Stollwerck Plumbing answered my call with a human being talking to me. After sharing my dilemma, the owner quickly found his crew and dispatched them to the island with only one boat running. They repaired the problem...had water back in my house within a couple hours upon arrival. they were professional, efficient, knowledgeable, humanistic, and caring. What a ripoff! It cost me $617 including tax to fix a copper pipe leak attached to my water heater and valve which took two guys, one of which was a trainee, one half hour to complete. $139 was charged to ride the Mukilteo ferry which is a $25 ride plus passenger one way. Hoping their work holds up. We shall see. In my opinion, the total should not have exceeded $400...ferry, repair, and tax. All I can say is ...."Never again". read more

*UPDATE* The owner left me messages 30 minutes after I posted my intial review saying that I left an inaccurate review and that it is not fair that I am lying about them. He also said that I was an unreasonable person. First of all, that was my opinion because I feel like they couldve told me that over the phone before coming out. Second, it happened like I said it did. I just wished they had given a heads up on any fees aside from charges on fixing things. His exact words when I said it was just my opinion were "Call it want you want. You are being dishonest. Typical passive aggressiveness from an unreasonable person." I feel like crap being told that as if I am not allowed to state my opinion. I may have seemed fine at the moment they had charged me that $100 fee but I was shocked at the fee and did not want to cause a scene with my son around. I am also not one to yell at someone when I know he would have tried to justify that I had to pay regardless. To be accused of lying just for stating my opinion is just wrong, especially coming from a business person who claims to work very hard for their customers. I had an issue with my washing machine because it was leaking from the bottom and when it drains, it smelled horrible like sewage. When I called to schedule an appointment, I told them what was happening. Someone had come out to look at it and told me theres no water leaking from the drains, which I already knew. They did not ask me about that over the phone. They told me the washer was the problem and that they couldnt do anything about it. On top of that, I had to pay $100 fee. For what? To tell me what I already knew and for them to look at the pipes for 1 minute?! I was not happy about that when they couldve told me that information over the phone with the information I had told them from the very start. I understand if the fee was smaller since they had to travel out here but $100 for literally nothing is ridiculous! I feel like they knew the issue and that they came out to see us anyways just to charge us that petty fee! read more

I noticed a leak near my water meter about a week ago. I looked up Stollwerck Plumbing and they had great reviews. JD from Stollwerck promptly came to my home assessed the situation and emailed me a written estimate that I approved via email. Shortly after, I was contacted to make a service appointment. Collin and Cecil showed up, quickly assessed the situation and were ready to work. They dug the access hole laying down a tarp to collect the dirt and keep the sod for reinstallation. I watched as they worked hard the entire time with no break. Collin was very experienced and knew what he was doing...taking care to not get any dirt or debris in the waterline. He also knew a lot about what parts to use and not use to implement the repair. Cecil, the apprentice, was knowledgeable about excavating and taking care not to damage the remaining waterline. Overall, these guys were pleasant and polite and didn't mind my questions as I learned about how to repair my main waterline. The entire task took about 3 hours. We hired our local Mukilteo plumbing company, Stollwerck to trim out plumbing in our new custom construction in Mukilteo. We wanted to help support the community. However, this was the worst decision we made. They are don't know to a bid a job correctly and kept on adding costs without approval before starting any work. They send over 5 guys who can't seem to manage time nor finish a job a handyman can do in few hours. Stollwerck has some good workers but is poorly managed. They are misleading in their plumbing capabilities, and we are not proud they represent our local community business. We still have a toilet that does not flush right, and the shower head does not fully function. We tried to settle the bill with them, but they were unwilling to work with us. They ended up blocking our email and threatened a lein on us with work still left unfinished. They will only talk by phone, which is not a pleasant unless you enjoy being lied to and talked down to. read more

JD was the one bright spot in a terrible weekend. My sister in law was getting married and while I was getting ready to go to the wedding I noticed a terrible smell wafting through the house. I followed my nose downstairs where I found myself wading through 2 inches of raw sewage which had leaked fro under my toilet to the whole downstairs. I frantically called over 10 plumbers from around my area. All were either closed (it was a weekend) or were too busy to come out. Meanwhile sewage was continually leaking in. I found Stollwerk on Yelp but thought it would be a long shot since they were way outside my service area. JD picked up immediately and could clearly hear the panic in my voice. Even though he was over an hour away from my house, he offered to immediately come out to take a look. While he was driving out he constantly texted to let me know how far out he was (this was T minus 2 hours to the wedding). By the time he arrived, we had determined the problem was a city sewage problem and not a plumbing issue. JD helped us talk to the city sewer guy and despite his rush to get to our house and 1hour plus drive on a Saturday, he did not charge us a dime. A few hours later he texted me again to check on the situation and offer some advice on repairing he bathroom. Now that's service! If I can convince JD to come out again to the shoreline area, I will turn to him for all my plumbing needs. I made it to the wedding, albeit smelling pretty terrible. Ultimately very few have perfect ratings, and that's definitely the case for those that handle plumbing. I went with Stollwerck because the of the number of reviews and that the trend was positive. JD is fair and thorough while easy to get along with making the plumbing work as painless as possible. Stollwerck Plumbing replaced the water main and hookups to my 110 year old farm house while adding plumbing in a new laundry room and hose bib. He also installed a full house water treatment system and softener (we are on a well). JD and his apprentice did an excellent job and I would call them back for any future plumbing needs. Just realized I never posted this review ... so here it is! JD is a great plumber to work with! We worked with him twice, and both times he was awesome! We moved into a new house spring of 2014 and had some issues with our master bathroom shower. The people we bought the house from had done a "temp fix" on the shower and JD worked hard to find the right fix so that everything worked the way it was suppose to. It took a few visits and trying out a few different parts, but he didn't stop until it was exactly right. Yay for a shower that works! This spring our outside faucets weren't working after turning the water back on. One of them had worked fine when we moved in last spring, the other one had always had low pressure/dripped. He came out and within a few hours had both of them working like new ... he even took the extra step to call a rep about the house and the parts, which ended up saving us money in the end.
