Recently hasn't old wood framed, single pane windows replaced. Stockmohr put in vinyl triple pane. The windows are beautiful. Installation is excellent. The difference in both the look of the exterior and the warmth near the windows inside is incredible. The gentleman that did the work were timely and professional. 2020 had them come out and reside my ranch house. I had wind damage on the old siding ,so they did the whole house. It was in the dead of winter (January) 2 guys were here every day @ 8 am for 5 days. They did a great job. I am very happy with there work. Its now 5 years later. No problems with work they did. They did a very good job and cleaned up after. I now need a new roof, they are going to give me a estimate next week. read more

Stockmohr roofing replaced the roof on my ranch home in the spring of 2023. They were one of 3 contractors we called to give quotes and they were willing to do the most work (reroofing all the different smaller porch roofs, etc) the soonest. They also gave a discount to my husband for being a veteran. We were very pleased with them. They told us about when we would be on their schedule and then called us a week ahead of time to let us know they would be coming the following week. We did ask them to hold off for a day and we were fine with it. They gave us a full set of instructions on how to protect all our belongings from any damage that might happen while the roof was being replaced. The roofers came and did the work and cleaned up after themselves. After the job was completed the president of the company came out and evaluated the job and let us know of any little problems he noticed and told us a crew would be out to address them. It would be some of the smallest things like the roof looked slightly indented in one spot. We were really pleased with this professionalism and felt Stockmohr really had our best interest in mind. Our experience with Stockmohr started on the day of the horrible windstorm in WNY (March 8th). Like so many others in the Buffalo-Niagara region, we lost about 50% of the shingles on our house. We had just gone to the Buffalo Home Show the weekend prior, so we had many brochures from different roofing contractors in the area. We started calling around to different roofers immediately to get a quote for an emergency tarp to hold us over until we could get the roof fixed. A few other companies quoted us between $600 and $1000- yeah, you read that right.. $1000 for a tarp! Based on the recommendation of a coworker, I contacted Stockmohr. Stockmohr quoted us $350 for two HUGE tarps to cover 50% of our total roof and better yet, they were able to come out the very next day and get us tarped. The following week we scheduled several estimates from a few roofing companies we were interested in. Not only did Stockmohr's quote come in over $1000 below the other three companies, it was the most detailed. We received 3-4 pages of detailed notes about what exactly needed to be done on the roof and what the recommendations were. This was especially helpful as we were working with our insurance company to get the damages covered. At first, the insurance was only willing to cover half a roof or a patch job on the shingles. Our insurance adjuster said he reviewed Stockmohr's quote and agreed to immediately cover all of Stockmohr's recommendations (a full roof replacement). The adjuster actually mentioned how it was one of the most detailed estimates he had ever received in his time working in the insurance industry. So of course, we decided to sign a contract with Stockmohr to do the full roof replacement. I was very impressed with the entire contract-signing process. I wasn't just handed a piece of paper and told "hey sign this," instead, every item of the estimate was explained line by line to us. We felt very comfortable that Stockmohr would be providing us with an excellent service. Unlike some other shady companies in WNY that require a huge down payment for the work, Stockmohr didn't ask for anything up front. We simply had to put down a deposit the day the roof work was started and then pay a balance once completed and inspected. It took a while to schedule the roof replacement, but that is because Mother Nature wasn't very nice to us during the past few months. We just had our roof replaced this past Monday (May 8th) and we're very pleased with it. The roofers actually completed the entire tear off and replacement in one day. In addition to how great the roof looks now and knowing we have quality shingles and quality workmanship on the roof, I would like to add that the "emergency tarp" really held up for TWO MONTHS. Even with several inches of rain and snow during March, April, and May, we never experienced any major leaking. We periodically went up into the attic just to verify. This was a major concern of ours since the wind ripped the roof off right down to the plywood. We've dealt with other roofing companies in the past and Stockmohr was by far the most professional. It was always a pleasure calling the office and speaking with Jessica who kept us informed during the entire process. As first time homeowners, it's scary to start working with contractors especially when there are so many shady companies out there. I would not hesitate to recommend Stockmohr for any of your roofing needs. Quality product and quality workmanship at a very affordable price. Had a leak in my roof because of an incorrect vent being used for the bathroom (thank you, previous owners). Very disappointed in this company. I only used them because they originally installed the roof that is on my house. They will not tell you when they will be at your house. They give you a weekly range of time ("three to four weeks") and when they haven't shown by week four and you call for an updated time frame (because they haven't called you, either), they tell you that they are extremely busy and you are "on the list." Mind you, this was the rainiest season in years, so my roof was actively leaking. This did not matter to Stockmohr, and gave them no sense of urgency. After they did not show up during the weekly time frame they originally quoted me, and then told me they could not estimate when they would actually be there, I called a different company (referred to me by several neighbors). Even though this company, too, is extremely busy, they were out the next day and my repair was done by the end of the week. I wasted a lot of time and money waiting on Stockmohr to do their job. read more

Let me start by saying this review is based on their customer service not the overall product. Last Friday they installed a new roof on our house. The roof looks great and so far so good. However, where this company falls off is their customer service. The owner's son Doug called me the night before. I asked him if there was anything I need to do to our landscaping. He assured me they cover everything with plywood and he would be there in the morning to review everything with me. The next morning someone came to drop off supplies and about 10 minutes later the crew was there to begin the job. However, no one came to the door to review the project or walk the grounds with me as I had been told. At the end of the day they crew cleaned up and left. No one spoke to me the entire day. They were supposed to collect a check at the beginning and end of the project. Those checks are still sitting on my desk. When they were done I went outside to find an entire row of flowers and a shrub flat as a pancake. The downspout extensions had not been put on. To make matters worse the crew also used my shed as their personal bathroom throughout the day. I left a voicemail Friday evening for Doug to voice some of my concerns. Monday just before lunch I received a call from a secretary saying they would send someone out to look at it (they have yet to come out). A few minutes later I got a call from Bill our sales person to ask about the downspouts. At that time I told him how unhappy I was with the customer service aspect of it. He was surprised to hear that Doug did not show up on the day of the job, collect a check and of course the "bathroom" issue. That was the last I have heard from them. It's now two days later. What bothers me most is that Doug is the owner in training and he doesn't seem to have an interest in rectifying a situation with an unhappy customer. It was down to Stockmohr and Black Rock for this job. I went with Stockmohr to save $800. At this point I think I made a mistake. I will certainly update this review if any new developments occur. **Update 7/2/2015** They did come back out and replace our bushes and downspout extensions. Which was very much appreciated. Still I had never been able to have a conversation with Doug. He just showed up unannounced and scared my wife when she open the garage and he was standing there. Then he told me he'd come by and do the final walk through. When the Stockmohr truck pulled up, guess what? No Doug. It was Doug's father. I expressed all of my concerns with their customer service and was basically told a bunch of excuses. I keep hearing how Doug is pulled in different directions. I told them it feels like my $11,000 isn't as good as their other customers. Which I was then told "no what you should feel is..." That was about all I could take. Please don't tell me how to feel. I'm the customer telling you how I feel about your service. And he also kept telling me that they aren't here to hold hands. I understand that but make me feel better about signing over the 2nd biggest check I've ever written in my life. I was also told that Doug didn't respond to me right away because other people were shouting louder than me. I changed that pretty quickly. Overall, workmanship I'd give them a 4 out of 5. Customer service a 2 out of 5 and that's only because they did make good on the shrubs and downspouts. If you're looking for a roof, they can put one on. If you're looking to feel good about signing over an enormous check then this isn't your place. read more

Called for an estimate for skylights to be replaced. Gave them all the details as I was only looking for an estimate (no work done at this point) as it was due to a sale of a house (inspection results). Showed up at my door, no hello but " Oh, your selling your house? Did you mention that on the phone when you called?"....I said yes I did. The guy came in looked at the skylights and said he would need to measure the size to write the estimate. Walked out to his truck in the driveway and never came back....I was in the kitchen making lunch for the kids and thought hmmmmmmmmmm its taking a while for him to come back in and measure...went to the door and the he was gone. Didn't even have the decency to let me know what was leaving. Not a good look for a company that was referred to us from our agent. I would never refer this company even if there work is amazing simply on the fact there customer service it pitiful! I would be embarrassed if an employee acted this way. I also gave the agent a heads up on this situation because I didn't want their future clients to have to deal with this. read more

We bought a picture window from Stockmohr 18 years ago. I know it is a long time but the glass coatings began to deteriorate and it is difficult to see out of the window. We found the original contract which was on Company letterhead and clearly stated '30 year glass'. So I stopped into store and met the owner Curtis while he was having lunch. I am also in customer service but to make a long story short I was frustrated and I was called belligerent before he had stopped chewing his french fry. He said that particular window company went out of business and he can no longer get glass. Well, Curtis, bite the bullet, go buy a picture window from your current supplier and have one of the guys put it in. Cost you a couple hundred and my wife and I won't have to write negative reviews about you. read more

I had a rental in Tonawanda and had Stockmohr come out and give me an estimate. Each time it rained, it leaked in the laundry room. The guy came out and barely even looked at the roof and said it would be $8000 for replacement. I told him that the shingles have at least another 8 to 10 years. I told him that's a lot of money and I thanked him for coming out. He responded to me you win some you lose some. ??!! I called Besroi for an estimate and the guy came out went on top of the roof and told me the roof was fine. He re-tarred around the ventilation pipe that was coming out of the roof and it solved the leaking issue. Only call Stockmohr if you feel like being ripped off. read more

I can't attest to how good or bad this company's work is, but what I can tell you is that they were crass and unprofessional when i called them about getting an estimate for roof repairs. The person on the other line coldly told me that "You will call us and blame us when your roof leaks again" and spoke to me in the tone one would use to scold a small child. She told me that one of the crew would indeed call me, but no one ever did. On top of being unprofessional, she either flat out lied to me or is incompetent. read more
