By 6:10 the crew had tarps hanging from the roof covering my shrubs, sidewalks, etc. the crew even got the potted plants out of the yard and under the front portico. Then the old roof started coming down! I returned from my daughter's house at 11:45am to find the job completed. The yard, driveway & sidewalks were immaculate. By tearing the roof down to the plywood they were able to identify & replace 7 sheets of plywood. They did a great job at a very competitive price!

It's super stressful. I have an older home and have been looking for someone to help me with a small but unusual project - a single story 10'x7' butlers pantry that is leaking. A friend of mine referred me to Old World Roofing. I called and they said they could help me with the project. I took time off work to meet with the guy and show him what needed to be done. I was promised a quote. Waited. Waited. Called, was promised a call back. Called was promised a call back. Nothing. In the meantime, my roof is leaking. Ghosting is gaslighting. I'm overwhelmed. Just tell me you don't want the project so I can move on to a company who does. I don't have time to deal with this kind of unprofessionalism.

For the most part the owner Terry was pretty reliable and easy to work with so we continued to use his services. Over the years there have been some minor delays and problems with scheduling. I would call and set up my annual apt. w/ Terry and there were multiple occasions where there was a no call, no show or I had to call him to see if he was still planning on coming out on a date where an apt. had been scheduled. He would make an effort of trying to get there that same day we had the apt. or he would typically come out the following day. Despite these minor issues with scheduling we decided to keep using Terry. However, this last year was something that could not be overlooked and anyone who is considering using Terry, I would strongly urge you not to. If you look through the reviews, I am not the only one that this has happened to. So, last April I called Terry as I typically do to have our irrigation system all set up for the year. I paid him in full for the initial turning on of our sprinkler system, sending in the backflow report and that payment would also take care of winterization services in the fall. Multiple service call times were agreed upon, and Terry told me he would be out in my area (this was in October of last year-2024) where he would stop by to turn our water off. He stopped by, had a conversation with my husband and told my husband everything was taken care of and that he would see us in the spring. So we thought we were good to go. Then in December of last year, we had a neighbor reach out when we weren't home saying we had water shooting out of the side of our house, our neighbor said he thought it was our backflow device. So we called Terry right away and explained the situation. He advised my husband on how to turn the water off over the phone. Terry then came out the following day to flush out the line and told my husband we were all good to go again and that he would see us in spring of next year. Now, keep in mind this was his second time out to our home, and on both occasions he told us we were completely taken care of and good to go. So I called Terry last week to set up our annual apt. We had an apt. time set up for today 4/29/2025 where he said he should be at my home sometime that morning to get me all set up for the year. At 11AM apt. day, I still had not heard from him and was needing to leave my house. So I called him and asked if we were still on for our apt. today. He said yes, he thinks he should still make it out to my house today. He then proceeded to tell me that my backflow device was broken, and that I needed to get that repaired before he can really do anything. I said, "Terry what are you talking about, this is the first I am hearing about anything like this?" Then he tried to tell me that I didn't contact him last year to get the water turned off in time and that our pipe burst. I explained to him that he came out in the fall, then had to come back out in December because he didn't do what he should have in the first place back in October which resulted in our backflow device bursting when the pipes froze. I even went into detail about the conversation my husband had with him on both of those occasions when he came out. Never once on either of those occasions did he indicate or let us know that we had an issue with our backflow device. He basically told me that I was lying and he hadn't seen or talked to my husband at all last year. I proceeded to tell him, yes my husband let you into our home because I was still at work. You and my husband talked for a while and then you told him everything was good to go and that we would see him back next spring. Terry continued to deny any interaction with my husband and basically told us he is not responsible for the damage to our backflow device and offered no resolution to the problem. He told us we would have to pay a company to come out and have it replaced. I had a company come out who quoted us $1400 to replace the backflow device. This is absolutely ridiculous! We have been loyal customers for many years and this is how we were treated. To say I am beyond frustrated at this point is a huge understatement. This is a completely crooked company and business owner. I cannot believe the level of unprofessionalism I experienced in that phone call earlier today. He was completely disrespectful, dismissive and unapologetic about an issue he created. We will NEVER use his services again and I plead with anyone else reading this to save yourself the trouble and future hassle of being out $1000-1700 by him doing this to you too. He is completely disorganized and clearly has no idea who he has talked to, who's home he has serviced, and 50% of the time will no call no show on you. It's terrible to be treated in this manner after years of doing business with someone. Use someone else with integrity!

Approximately 2 weeks prior to July 2022 he was paid to inspect & turn on the system for the season. A week after activating the system, I noticed the outside piping leaking and contacted Mr. Matthews to come back and address the leak. When he arrived, he indicated that he would need to do a backflow service. This service blew the plug off the systems indoor system pipe, and flooded my basement, damages amounting to $26,458.91 where sustained. Due to Mr. Mattews negligence of not appropriately, inspecting the indoor system plumbing before performing the backflow, which showed clear signs of corrosion, which was the result of him installing galvanized plug and connector instead of brass in 2007. After seeing my flooded basement he left and I have not heard from him since.

Alex and his receptionist Becky have been behind the scenes trying to fix Michael's back handed mistakes. I appreciate this more than anything. This is a small business company and IF you are looking for a new roof or a any type of repairs I would honestly recommend this company to anyone. Alex DID come out to our house climb on our roof and inspect it to ensure we would be safe throughout the next storm coming our way. Yes, it is his companies name and when they found out they had issues they did come out to try and address the issue. I just wish there were more better kind hearted people in this world. 1 STAR IS TOO HIGH FOR THIS COMPANY! I had signed a contract…read morefor siding on my house on 4/12/25. I gave Rusty, the owner, a total of $5,800.00 down, a little over half of the contract. A few weeks later, he called to verify the colors with me. It wasn't until June 21st when he called and said the siding was in. He said the siding was in but was waiting for the soffit and fascia. Said it was about 1-1 1/2 weeks out for that. July 6th, he said still not in, out of his control. Next day, the 7th, oh... now it is in Delivered, supposedly, everything on 7/12, didn't start until 7/18. They slapped up some siding on front of house and garage along with some of the soffit and fascia. NOT THE COLOR I HAD ORDERED!!!!! I was told by Rusty's son, the supplier called and told him they could not get the color I signed for so Rusty told them to get something close. He tried to substitute without even discussing it with me first, thought they could get away with it. NOT EVEN IN THE SAME COLOR SCEME!!!!! They were nothing but amateurs working on my house. One guy had to get his helper out of a halfway house in Arkansas, then there were health issues of installer, then both he and his partner were picked up for outstanding warrants. The craftmanship was horrific. They had to take large sections down due to installing it wrong and sloppy, they did not use the proper material to start the siding or to finish it. I had to supply the starter strips, and they decided to to try and glue the top strip of siding on to the wall with caulk! I was told it was a preference on material used to install not actually required for installation. NOT MYPREFERENCE!!!!!! I ended up firing them for breach of contract after the installation crew packed up all of their tools and told me to call them directly when the Altman's decided t get all of the proper material needed to do the job because they were not making any money on this one. DUE TO MISTAKES AND TOO MANY TRIPS BACK AND FORTH. I decided to finish the job myself and have over 100 pictures of the sloppy unprofessional workmanship that they did on my house. At 1 point, Rusty told me if I wanted the mistakes and slop fixed properly, I would have to pay extra for labor and more material. I can't believe I let them stay on the job for 6 weeks on a job that should have taken no more than 1 and 1 1/2 weeks according to his installers doing the work. they never showed up before 10:30 am and would leave by 2 pm because of the heat. They were told they could get started by 6:30am and work until it was too hot. I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING THIS COMPANY FOR ANY TYPE OF PROJECT WHATSOEVER!!!!!!!!! I was threatened by Rusty if I did not let them finish the job, he would file a mechanics lien against me and sue me for breach of contract. Like I said, I decided to finish the job myself and went out and got the rest of the material on my own that they refused to supply. Rusty did ask if he could bring the rest of the material over, I said yes, He could put it in my driveway and take a picture to prove he delivered it. That never happened!

One factor could be they applied the herbicide a couple of days after our lawn got cut. And our lawn was cut short than 3 inches. It was extremely heat in August too. The tragic browning of our lawn could have been avoided should the crew have professional common sense regarding lawn care and they should have advised us to postpone the treatment.
