Absolutely love Stix. Everything is so fresh and flavorful! We don't eat out of often, but when we do it is more often than not at Stix! Reminds us of ours travels through northern Thailand and Laos. The food is spot on every time. We try to get an unfamiliar item with every order and it has always been a delicious surprise. A sure staple that we order is the crispy drunken noodles. I'm writing this review as we are still eating. The food was not bad. Reason why I'm giving this a 3star rating is because of the service. It took forever just too get our food. But mind you, there was only me and my wife who only ordered one entree each. Then it took a long time to receive some rice. Either hire more workers for the front or back or warn customers of the long wait times. Be honest with them, they'll appreciate it a lot more. read more

Tried Stix for the first time as they happened to move in to my old "go to" for Asian cuisine. So glad I did! The food was delicious. Service and food was great! Only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because food is a little pricier than what I'm used to. I had a chicken Pad Thai and paid $12 whereas, at other Thai places, I usually pay $8-$10. Nonetheless, really good food and decent portions! Definitely could have shared my Pad Thai with someone! Had green curry, which was ok, but eggplant in it raw in center and curry itself was thin and bland. Had fish cakes and stix calamari and was disappointed in both. Everything tasted authentic and delicious, the staff is very nice, the restaurant itself is clean and spacious and the food came out quickly. Highly recommend the Virgin Berry Mojito. My new fave place to eat in the Willow Pass Center, want Thai Food? They got it, want Laotian Food, they got it! Along with amazing portions, service and tasty bites, their "udon" soup is amazing and one of my new addictions! They make their own noodles in their broth! It's so so good! Their mango sticky rice is on point and their wok is killer for the garlic and Hawaiian fried rice. Can't go wrong with their wings. BBQ combination plate was delicious, and was able to substitute veggies for the rice. Lao sausages were the best. Big portions. My wife and daughter split the Pad Thai and fried rice and really enjoyed both dishes. Can't wait to return and try different dishes. We came here when there weren't many people and had to ask the waitress to clean our table (which seemed to bother her). My boyfriend and I ordered our food together but his food was brought way before mine. I waited a good 10 minutes for my food. The waitress wasnt prompt. Hubby and I tried this as neither of us had a specific craving for something in particular. When this happens we try a new place. Restaurant was clean, and staff was friendly. Food was yummy. The home made Lao sausage had great flavor. We ordered the Active Volcano and the server asked "how hot do you want it from 1-10" We ordered a level 6, and it was yummy, next time will be a higher level as we are HOT food eaters. The Stix Wings was great--loved the flavors, the wings themselves were not the typical fatty skinned ones you get elsewhere. They also had a perfect crisp to the skin! This Thai food is terrible. If you like real Thai/Laos food, stay away. The papaya salad was bland, the kao piek broth tastes like water, the beef salad tastes like artificial lime was used. I like this place. The Vietnamese Woman i was with was thinking of Pho, but we went here, she liked it. It is sort of Laotian,, and they were out of the Kapoon soup which i really like so we got the more plain chicken and udon noodles soup which was good, but i am glad we also got the other dish with the chicken and sauce,, it is sort of like Thai but little different so that is fun,, we enjoyed the meal the place is great, i was here before and liked it, i will come back read more

Went here for dinner after our massage. We ordered pad see ew with chicken and the krapow with pork and eggplant. The pad see ew was a bit salty for my taste and the krapow was way too sweet. The krapow dish came after we were halfway done eating the pad see ew. We were kinda full after eating that and the brown rice that should have came with the second dish. Carb overload. read more

Update: I received two "compliments" for my review. One for sure from a worker, the other I'm guessing is a friend or family of restaurant staff. One was rude and insulting and the other was an acknowledgement of the impression I got my first time eating here. The rude one said I shouldn't complain about getting free soup (I didn't complain about getting soup, by the way. It came with the lunch special, anyway, so it's not like it was complimentary for our messed up orders) and free water (we're in a drought, and they shouldn't waste the water!) and said I should eat at home alone and called me an idiot. If this is a friend of the restaurant, the owners should un-friend or fire this person because that's a good way to lose business! read more

I have to start by saying the food was great. The 2 stars are for the deliciousness of the food. Good Asian food is hard to come by. Food alone would get at least 4 stars. We had a group of 6, all together we had ordered fried calamari, beef sticks, chicken sticks, combo plate, thai curry, egg fried rice, pad thai, lao sausage, shrimp balls, pork ball, papaya salad, probably a few other things. Because of the service, I do not recommend dining here. The service was terrible. For the most part, we let a lot of it slide. The curry came out first. When it did, we asked that the food come out after the appetizers. Our waitress said that if she takes the curry back, it be cold. Odd comment, but whatever. She also said that the food comes out as it is complete, not all together. Fine, it's not fine dining ok, but at least bring the appetizers out first, and then the entrees. When she came back with appetizers, she seemed almost apologetic, so I know she misunderstood when we said we wanted the appetizers to come out first. Once the food came out, it was pretty quick. A couple dishes at time. After all our food was received, no one ever came back to our table. We saw them sit 3 more tables around us, take drink orders, etc. But no one ever asked us for anything else. Finally, after our waitress yet again delivered to another table, I had to shout to get her attention for refills and takeout boxes. From that point, we had already been patiently waiting for any kind of attention and we were DONE so we asked for the manager. She just started to cry. Another male waiter came to our table right after that. Instead of apologizing or trying to see what the issue was, he immediately began lecturing us on "having the audacity to make a young girl cry." First of all, if she's that young, don't have her wait on so many tables by herself that she can't even service them all appropriately. 2nd of all, if she's going to cry about it, she shouldn't be a waitress. At any rate, we excused his presence, wanting to speak to the manager. She also had no desire to learn about our issue, just that we were now making a scene. She offered to pack our leftovers. Huh? No! And for some absurd reason, they let the young girl come back to our table to get us refills. If they cared that she was crying, take over her table for her. If they cared that we had bad service, give great service, and don't start lecturing us about making the waitress cry. If they cared about not making a scene, they would have rectified the issue instead of trying to offer a discount for the NEXT time. Next time? No thanks. read more

Crab rangoon have REAL crab in them. They may be small but they have a lot of flavor. Also if you order spicy food here be careful cause they dont mess around here! Food is always great very authentic and their drinks are very good. I'd recommend to anyone to come here read more

So, all I had was the chicken fried rice. It was $13, but it was a HUGE portion. It wasn't greasy, the chicken was cooked well and it had nice flavor, not bland at all. Service was friendly and quick, and the restaurant was very clean with an open kitchen. I'll be back to try more when I have a bigger group to share with. read more

This place is fairly new. So far all the food I have tasted are yummy! The Thai noodle salad has the correct ingredients! Their curries are not too salty. Fried volcano shrimp is one of their popular food on their menu. One of the guy made this awesome sauce for calamari and it tasted a lot better than what they originally prepare.. I hadn't visited here because I thought it was that chain restaurant with the fauxsian (faux Asian) food, but I couldn't be more wrong. The food is on point for authentic Thai food. It started well when we received complimentary bowls of soup containing glass noodles, minced chicken, corn, cabbage, and red peppers. My husband and I shared the papaya salad, beef red curry, and the mixed barbecue plate. The papaya salad was nice and tart and fresh tasting. The red curry with beef was a little spicy, but not too hot. It was also light and not over powered by coconut milk. The mixed barbecue plate was the biggest surprise. It has flank steak, pork, and chicken and all the meats had its' own flavor. They didn't all taste like they were marinated with the same marinade. The plate also contained some grilled broccoli and a sauce on the side that was like their own version of a sweet chili sauce, but way better than any I've ever tasted. Portion size made it a good value. Can't wait to go back and try other dishes. read more

Decided to give this place a try and we were not disappointed!!! It's located in the old McDonalds in the Park and Shop. They did a great job remodeling...clean and inviting with table service. The service was excellent...it was taking a while for our food so the hostess brought out cups of soup for free. Now to the food- Stix wings-perfectly cooked spicy and crunchy Tri tip BBQ-bursting with flavor served with Thai dipping sauce Pad Thai - with prawns- lots of fat ass juicy prawns-sauce had a nice complexity-not too sweet. Mixed veggies in peanut sauce-my hubby loved this since he loves peanut butter...it was ok We ordered way too much food for 2.....this would serve 4 hungry folks. Looking forward to the leftovers. Was going to get the drunken noodles but they were sold out....getting those next time. Definitely will be back for the excellent food and service. read more

The lunch special here is really good! you get a bowl of great soup, and their curry is amazing and fresh. Although the service can be a bit slow but i think its cuz theyre making everything from scratch back there. the Restaurant is clean which is nice and i love the large mason jars for their specialty drinks. This two stars oly for serving, actually this is the one oly worst thai Restaurant i went in all over this bay area, i ordered veggies and mushrooms noodles with out egg and meat but they given me egg without mushroom noodle then i complained about this and finally given only noodles with uncooked broccoli mushrooms in that noodle ,they even added salt that was a worst taste ,then i asked for some hot sauce i manage to eat the noodles with hot sauce, this is the oly place you order for veggies they will give u oly broccoli is the one and only vegetable in the Restaurant, i never recommend for any one very worsttttt Restaurant..... read more

They really did a nice job of making the restaurant look like it's own and not a revamped McDonald's. I went for lunch with a friend and we were the only people in there. The menu looked awesome! So many things to try! I ordered the Panang curry and garlic noodles and my friend ordered the red pumpkin curry and mushroom skewers. They forgot our order and had to retake it. No big deal, I could tell they are trying to work out the new restaurant kinks.........we got our lychee tea right away (which is AMAZING!) but then we waited, ........and waited,........and waited. We were starving! We waited almost 45 minutes. Finally we get our curry. Only our curry. 10 minutes later our rice comes. Then someone comes to check on us and I remind them that we never got our skewers or noodles. They apologized and rushed to the kitchen. Our noodles came out fast and our server apologized that they were out of mushrooms. I was bummed. But he did comp the noodles for taking so long which was very nice. My curry flavor was very good! Lots of chicken, but a little skimpy on veggies. It'd be awesome with some bell pepper and onion. But the flavor was spot on! And spicy! Finally and good spicy balance! I'm only giving 3 stars because I can clearly see they need to work out the new restaurant routine. I hope this place makes it because the flavors of the food are on point.And that lychee tea was awesome! I will go back after some time passes and they settle in and try it again. read more
