Today I walked in expecting to receive quality service and i walked out 65 dollars poorer with nails that even the nail tech wouldnt buy. I asked for something simple. A normal pink and white french set. What I got was completely different. A set that was poorly done with no effort. The white shellac tip that were too thick. I literally wasted hours for nothing. They were clear dip powder with glitter. $100 later, they took advantage of a teenager and overpriced her nails. They claim she got a "design" on each nail. Nope, just glitter!!!! Since when is that a design. Never again and ladies, don't send your kids there. They will be taken advantage of. I went in there the 2nd or 3rd day of opening and wanted to get solar nails, the nails that I have ever known (since high school). Let me tell you this first, is that I am a nail biter. I have always bit my nails, but recently tried to stop for my new year's resolution. Which I have succeeded and stopped, but Le stopped me from ruining my nails and told me that I have good nails. My nails can be natural and long. Thus came the CND Shellac information. I loved that she told me I CAN have strong and natural nails. Seriously, thought that she was pulling my leg. I was skeptical at first, but after her information and convincing I went with that service. I never thought in a million years that I would or could have natural nails, and now here I am with long, strong, and healthy nails by just listening to her advice. I love shellac and never thought I could, because I loved solar nails. Great atmosphere and very personable!!! Also Le is certified on the CND website, so look for the salon to confirm her certification. Let me start by saying this place is quaint, friendly, and clean. Not sanitary looking, but clean. I think it's charming the way they have the curtain sheers hung, and I like their patterned, stone flooring. I also like that there are not multiple TVs, which for me helps me to relax. There are two - but not one at each station. My favorite thing is that they were playing relaxing spa music- which for me I appreciate bc while my nails are a routine maintenance thing for me, I invest in this service so I can relax. The work was fine my manicurist was fine. A real massage not just rubbing some random lotion on, would have been better even if it was just a couple mins. Their polish selection both gel and non gel is awesome. They have CND, OPI, Gelish, etc. I also REALLY like that they have their pricing posted ---- up front, but my suggestion is for you to offer laminated service menus so when I sit down I can really look and see what I want. So I raised to know how to do my own nails. I'm never suppose to go and pay for them because I have all the tools and equipment necessary to do whatever I want at home. I have accomplish this. HOWEVER, being 8 months pregnant, the last I can do is bend over and give myself a proper pedicure and nonetheless sit and Give myself a proper manicure. It took me all day to talk myself into getting my nails done. It's against everything I was raised!! But I wanted to have nice nails before the baby arrives. So on to yelp I went searching for the best nail salon in Katy. I knew to look at north Katy because south Katy nail salons just over charges strictly because of the area. This is how I stumble upon Stillwater. I have driven past this place about 100 times and never noticed it. I am very picky about my nails and know exactly what I like and don't like and how I want it done. I was very skeptical that I would like this place and I that I would probably never return. But I was proven wrong. I entered the salon with my toddler and my bff, everyone was busy with a customer so I figured the wait is going to take a while but I was wrong. Lucky for us someone was finishing up on another customer. We picked our colors (took us forever) and sat down in the spa chairs only to be introduced to a basket of shellac colors we had to pick from instead. They have a wide variety of colors and brand so picking a color was easy. Tim did my basic shellac manicure. Beautifully shaped and buffed and did not cut my cuticles like I asked for. He took his time which was appreciated. I never got the name of the girl who did my shellac pedicure but she was on it, too! She went super short like I asked for and shaped, cleaned, and scrubbed my feet oh so nicely. They turned out great!! I love my nails! I will return for sure! My only complaint: they were a little rough with the buffing, besides just buffing only my nails they also buffed my skin in the process and this ended up hurting, especially when they sprayed alcohol on my hands and feet afterwards! Ouch. Total for basic manicure and pedicure was $33 plus $25 for shellac and then there was tip too! Gotta make sure to tip them!! I felt like $33 was fair for a pedicure/manicure and $25 is fair for shellac because those last for a long time. Next time I will get a pedicure with a full set since her work actually looks decent according to the photos on Yelp. read more

I called after 5pm and they were closed so I took a look at the reviews and noticed that everyone in the KATY area seems to really like them. I booked an appointment for myself and my fiancé and there was no one there, which is surprising for a summer day. Kim did my nails and his pedicure and I'm unsure of the young lady that did my pedicure but everyone there was so amazing and they are reasonably priced. We ended up spending about $95 with tip but it was all worth it. $44 for both pedicures + I got 3D designs on two nails, ONLY $10. Usually it's 10 per finger. I went to Stillwater as a drop in for mani pedi. I wasn't sure, since I had a cracked toe with a removable boot, if the pedicure could be done. Le was so pleasant on the phone, and instead of trying to sell me assured she would take a look and see what was possible. Score one point. They had someone available right away even though I came in 15 minutes after I called. 4pm was a good time on Friday- I just missed a rush and one came in after I left. Parking was a little tight but I got a spot without having to walk much (score another point- hurricane Patricia was sending some clouds through). I got the name of this place from the CDN website. So I specified that I wanted Vinylux only, since my workplace banned Shellac, gel, and acrylic, but I still wanted it to last long as possible. The ladies were interested in what I wanted and why- they recommended shellac as long lasting, actually checked out the health of my nails first. After I explained, Leyung went right to work. She used the correct technique and products (score more points) but was very gentle with my broken toe. The chairs were a little worn but everything was clean and well-lit. The decor was plain and relaxing. I was offered a drink as soon as I sat down. The ladies (Le seemed to do phone and cosmetic work as well as nail designs) were kind and spoke in mostly English, which I appreciated. Conversation was good but I was also given time to read. I've never been in a salon or spa so friendly- everyone was talking to everyone else. Normally people dissolve into their own world where I come from, so that was a nice change.
