I knew I should've jumped in line as soon as my group of 4 ladies walked into the Live & Up Close Theater at Sycuan. This was the first time KGB 101 was having a DSC (Dave, Shelly, & Chainsaw) Ladies Night. Our group of 4 were the first ladies in line for the event. We were strategically planning which booths to visit AFTER we enjoyed complimentary bites! This is where I went wrong... AHN was the only Brow/ Makeup booth. The event was from 7- 10pm. I waited in line for an hour & fifteen minutes. And my turn came at 9:30pm. Now, let me give you a rundown on my caterpillars. I had microblading done literally one year ago. And, as we know- this is not a permanent treatment. My blading strokes were fading. Since I knew there was a brow booth for Ladies Night- I didn't bother to do jack shit to my brows. I could've easily been mistaken for the Yeti's cousin. When it's my turn, I lay down on AHN's table & she adjusts her light to take a look at my brows. She asks politely, "What's goin on here?" I give her the rundown of my microblading & how I don't bother getting them waxed at the nail salons- because they usually end up having my brows look like a chola. We laugh about our chola days. She commented how the microblading gave my brows a different shape than what she'd think would look. I tell AHN, I'm open to suggestions. As she preps my brows- she leans in & politely says," At least, tweeze your fucken brows". I died laughing! Within 15 minutes- she transformed my brows w- makeup & waxing, and eyebrow trimming. My jaw dropped! Yes, it was worth the hour plus wait! Even though it's a mini expo, per se- I had to tip $15!!! She worked miracles! read more

My skin looks great! Thank you AHN Skin & Beauty. Pronounced like ON. The new location is easy to find, clean and modern. It's in the Hotel and they validate parking. Walk through the lobby and it's the first business on the right! I got my facial today with Aitana. I have bad scars and blackheads but she has magical hands and got them out for me! My skin looks so fresh I am so happy! I've had challenges finding the perfect person but I am happy I found Aitana. I highly recommend the products. They are amazing, works very well and isn't oily! At AHN's they do almost anything a dermatologist office will do. But make sure to book ahead! I am going back got micro-needling next with Ahn! read more

I received a gift certificate and made an appointment for today. I normally get facials at luxury hotels and they normally cost $200+. However, my custom facial today was very comparable and super relaxing! I actually prefer AHN over other locations that I frequent. The décolletage (neck/shoulder area) massage was sooooo relaxing and my favorite part! It felt so good, I wish she did it longer! I noticed online, they have a few new client specials which are very affordable! For the quality of the facials, I believe that it is definitely worth a try and you will end up being a fan! Parking in this lot can be difficult mid-morning since almost every spot was filled due to the many businesses/Devry University in this building. Give yourself time to find parking. I highly recommend! read more

Aitana is awesome! I saw a deal on Groupon, and wanted to make sure I could get an appointment within a week before I purchase the Groupon. Turns out AHN will honor Groupon pricing if you mention it! I got a facial from her. I love her honesty and sincerity. Will be back!! read more

Cory was amazing! I purchased a Groupon for $39 for a Spa Facial (50 minutes). Come early because you have to fill a quick questionnaire. Cory was friendly, incredibly knowledgable about skin care & organic products, & professional. I had numerous concerns about my skin & she had solutions for all of them! The products she used made my skin feel silky smooth. From the enzyme peel, to the extractions, to the hydration mask, to the calming music, to the soft bed, I felt so relaxed! If you want more than a facial & solutions on how to heal your skin, Cory is your gal! Go to her! This place is within the DeVry University structure, parking can be a little tight but there is plenty of it. Bathrooms are near the elevators. read more

Thank you Local Twist for helping me find Theresa and Ahn Skin & Beauty! I was really nervous to get a Brazilian wax and Theresa made it seem like I was visiting a friend. I just had my first Brazilian with Ahn. A recommendation from a friend at work. Ahn was great, she made me feel comfortable. I'm not going to lie, it was painful, but not unbearable. She worked quick, and explained everything. Her office is clean, and has a nice vibe, very professional, nice deco as well. As soon as I walked in it gave me a sense of calm. I think the anticipation was the worse. I totally recommend her. Thanks Ahn and Shirley! read more

I've been going to Ahn and Aitana for the past 6 years and my skin has improved immensely. I am a die-hard fan of Ahn's Moisture Replenishing Creme and I love that she carries Jan Marini products. Ahn is an extremely knowledgable esthetician and is constantly doing research and learning more about skin care. After every facial you come out not only refreshed but with a little more knowledge on how to care for your skin. She is AMAZING! I was recently waxed by Aitana and she made me feel very comfortable. She walked me through the process and kept a very professional and relaxing demeanor. Both ladies are very accommodating when it comes to scheduling, and provide follow-up reminders prior to your appointment. I highly recommend them! read more

Ahn is amazing! I get compliments on my eyebrows so often- which could be odd to some people because eyebrows can be taken for granted. But when you have a skilled aestheticism who is also a perfectionist, gear up for some eyebrow compliments!! read more

I got a facial from Janina here for the first time after hearing about it on bloomspot and getting a coupon. Janina is really great! She even gave me a sample of the clay mask, and I'm excited to try it out at home later! My skin felt really great after the facial, and Janina was great to talk to. I also really liked that she told me about the products she was using, but she didn't push me to buy anything afterwards (always makes me feel uncomfortable at other salons, because I'll buy if I want to). I'm definitely going to come here again! read more

Wanted to update my review from 2014. If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would! I recommend this place to everyone who is needing to get a Brazilian! When I first started going here in 2014 I was going to Theresa. Since then she moved, but left me in the hands of Aitana, who is simply THE BEST!! She is flexible, kind, quick, and professional! Trust me, I did my research before getting my first Brazilian, and this is the place to go! All the staff members I have seen are friendly and professional. The location itself is quaint and relaxing. I know Aitana does other services and I would trust her with everything! I have never had a problem making an appointment and Aitana is super accommodating with my work schedule! Do yourself a favor and head over here for a Brazilian, massage, facial, anything! So glad to have found this place three years ago! read more

Just left AHN from getting my eyebrows waxed with Janina. I realized on Monday that I was well overdue for an eyebrow wax and that I had company coming at the end of the week. My skin is sensitive and I tend to break out a day or so after, so I needed to get in asap. I called the salon and left a txt asking if they could get me in immediately. Janina responded and said she had an opening on Wednesday. I asked if there was any way she could squeeze me in on Tuesday and the angel that she is made time to get me in!! LOVE! Janina gave me a tutorial of how to fill my eyebrows in to create more fullness, made some product recommendations for growth and then preceded to wax. It costs $22 and looks fab! Thanks again Janina! read more

I have short fine eyelashes. Eyelashes that you would have to squint to find that they exist. And I am obsessed with long pretty eyelashes. So I bought one of those "Groupon Now" from Ahn Beauty and got my eyelashes done by Liz, who works at Ahn. Despite getting eyelash extensions at a discounted price from Groupon, Liz did an amazing and natural job with my eyelash extensions. She had me lay down in her reclined chair, while she wore supermagnified glasses and she worked her magic. She was soothing, gentle and relaxing. Most of the time, I didn't even feel her put the eyelashes on me. When I was done in about an hour, I had beautiful, natural looking eyelash extensions on me. Within a week, my eyelash extensions started falling off of my eyelashes. I texted Liz and she put me in within a day to see her. We realized that since my eyelashes are thin and fine, they couldn't support the extensions. So Liz helped reapply new lashes, and adjusted the way the glue adhered to my lashes, and redid everything, with no extra charge. I was willing to pay her, but she refused and insisted that my lashes were supposed to last longer and it wouldn't be right to make me pay for it. She even ordered thinner (and lighter) eyelash extensions so she will have it in hand next time I come in. That is amazing and generous. What great service. Liz also recommended a serum to help my lashes grow longer and thicker, which I have been using and it's been working. I think I'm going to give my eyelashes a break from extensions but the next time I come in for extensions, I will for sure go back to her. I highly recommend Liz to anyone who wants a great eyelash extension experience. read more

Holy clear skin and radiance! This place is incredible. Particularly, Janina is awesome! I've had a few facials before trying a Bloomspot deal for Ahn, and went in skeptical. I've never felt a huge need for regular facials and the places I'd gone previously (which are highly rated as well) left me feeling clean, but not transformed in any way. I was impressed with Janina from the get-go. 1. The most important thing is the outcome, so we'll start there: I've never had my skin looking so radiant - ever. Possibly not even when I was a kid. I am the type that always wears makeup because I'm not a fan of my complexion and other blemishes. I went home after this and cooked a steak dinner for my boyfriend and I with no rush to cover my skin. My face felt so pure and smooth, and I looked so radiant that there was no way I was covering it up! 2. Availability: I was highly impressed with Janina's openness to her customers without ever having met me. When nobody is in to answer the phones, she directs you to her personal cell phone to ensure you get your appointment booked and feel taken care of. I know how it feels to be constantly connected to work, and I applaud her for choosing this for her customers. 3. Products: Janina customized my facial for my needs. Occassionally I've had facials that resulted in break outs, which I understood may be part of the purification process. But the products that she chose for me only made everything better. I had a couple minor issues that cleared up within a day or two after the facial. I love their products as a result. She gave me a free trial of a skin clearing mask to try if I ever have a big break out again, and gave me advice on what will work best on my trouble spots and insecurities. 4. Overall customer service: The worst thing is to go into a spa for a service just to feel like you're being upsold constantly. The relaxation factor gets sucked right out of the experience. Janina gave me advice on products to use, but did not once push me to buy Ahn's products specifically. That's a sign that the products will speak for themselves. 5. Aesthetics: They just moved into their new location, so they were still getting fully set up. However, the reception room is nice and airy. The furnitire and showcases are great - they fit the atmosphere and do their job well. The bed was comfy and she appeared to have everything I needed to relax, including good music. So I was more than satisfied. Long story short - I'm not a regular facial kind of girl, but I will definitely return! And I'm likely buying some Vitamin C infused serum from Ahn since I loved their products so much - I'll pay the spa product premium rather than risk it with a random drugstore product. read more

I had never gotten the dreaded Brazillian before.. Yanking Hairs out in your most sensitive area by applying hot wax by a stranger?!?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Nevertheless I have always been extremely jealous of my friends who claimed that "my hair is so soft! and I never have to shave" My only issue was that I never had the time or self will to let my hair grow to the length needed to get a wax. LUCKILY two amazing things happened. My boyfriend went on a week long vacation & Groupon had a an awesome deal for Ahn Skin&Beauty (25$ for Brazillian) So I booked my appointment and prepared for the worse. When I walked in jittery and one glass of wine later, Theresa greeted me and led me straight to the room. She honestly was the sweetest thing about the whole situation. She comforted me, and assured me the first time was the worst and it only gets better from here. Throughout the process (which did hurt) she didn't stop talking and asking questions which helped so much in the distraction area. I am SO BEYOND HAPPY I DID IT. THE PAIN WAS SHORT LIVED AND WELL WORTH IT. Overall, I can't wait to be one of those girls who claim "my hair is so soft! and I never have to shave" I plan on going back every 4 weeks, and plan on scheduling all my waxing needs with Theresa. Thanks Theresa! :) read more

We have made appointments for my husband and myself for facial package we purchased on Groupon. We received text confirmation as well. But when we showed up at our appointment time, we were told that they booked us for massages instead and they mixed up our names to another couple. So we could not get our facial done as planned. If a service provider can't keep the customers appointments lined up, I considered to be incompetent. Very disappointed and wasted our precious Saturday morning. read more

I've been a loyal customer of Ahn's for many years and in my opinion, she is hands down the BEST esthetician and make-up artist! She is an expert in eyebrow shaping and will give you the best shape for your face. Technically, anyone can wax your eyebrows...but what she provides is her artistic talent in grooming your eyebrows to properly frame your face. She is also an expert in Brazilian waxing. In general, the procedure can be uncomfortable - especially when you don't get them done regularly but Ahn is very reassuring and she talks you through the process. She is very quick and thorough. The procedure is relatively painless (well, depending on your pain tolerance of course). I've been to other places which have hurt a heck of a lot more. Her facials are amazing and I love her products. Since she started taking care of my skin, I've seen a vast improvement in my skin tone and I have little to no more breakouts! Ahn has vast knowledge in skin care and helps put together a beauty plan to help me maintain younger looking skin. And last but not least, Ahn is an extremely talented make-up artist. She enhances your natural beauty without making you look "fake" or "not yourself". She also provides make-up tutorials if you're like me and have no talent when it comes to putting on make-up! : ) She taught me the very basics in putting on make-up for the workday. Overall, anytime I see Ahn for the variety of services she provides, I always have a wonderful experience. The office is a wonderful oasis and it's beautifully decorated. The waiting area is very comfortable and she always has current magazines to read to entertain you while you wait (which isn't even that long). There is fresh water and teas should you want any refreshments. Some mention the business is in an office building...true but I don't necessarily believe that's a bad thing. It's a nice little escape from the busy world and the surrounding area is very quiet. There is a lot of free parking in front of the building so that's another plus. What are you waiting for, book your appointment and give Ahn Skin & Beauty a try...you won't regret it! : ) read more

AMAZINGGGGGG! Their service is wonderful! So far I've had Becca for massages and Janina for my ultrasonic cavitation. Becca is super sweet and her massages feel amazing! Janina is also soo friendly! I have an appt with her to do my eyebrows and airbrush tan. I'll do an update post and let everyone know how that works out. :) As far as the ultrasonic cavitation, results vary from person to person. You HAVE to drink lots of water and exercise after. I've lost about an inch in my waist after 9 days, but I've also been going to the gym everyday since. I also love that you get the same great service even when using coupons or special deals :D i know some places treat clients differently if theyve got coupons or special discounts. read more

I LOVE this place!! Recently went in for a waxing by Theresa. I've never had a Brazilian before, but she assured me that I was in good hands. Oh my goodness, she made the process so quick and painless. I was impressed by Theresa's professionalism and care, which made what could be an awkward experience totally comfortable. I will definitely be going back to Theresa from now on!! read more

I see Theresa for all my waxing needs. She is very good at what she does, and is easy to talk to as well. When my 10 year old was curious if waxing hurts, she even took the time to show her the wax, put a little on her hand, and "waxed" it. I would recommend them to anyone. read more

Okay so this review is a long time coming- I had a facial last month that has sustained a variety of stresses and travel, but still musters a compliment every now and then about some magical mystery facial 'glow.' I had an appointment with Carlee and she was super sweet and thorough. She did an amazing job with the facial itself and the bonus upper body massage. I can't wait to go again especially for that massage! Side note: the waxing at this place is meh- both pricing and complete removal wise. Stick to pampering yourself at this little haven and you can't go wrong! read more

So after months of considering a bikini wax rather than shaving, I browsed around on Yelp to find a good place to go and I chose Ahn Skin & Beauty because they had the top review. After my first visit, I completely understood why. I saw all the reviews about Theresa and her waxing expertise and I can definitely say that she lives up to it! All of my other waxing appointments have been with her too. She's unbelievably nice and makes what could be something awkward and embarrassing completely comfortable. Usually, I'm in and out in about ten minutes. She keeps you occupied by talking while she works which I think helped a lot during my first Brazilian. It's small talk that's actually interesting too! She explains what's going on with the hair so that you understand what she's noticing and why she'll either schedule your appointments closer or farther too. She's super sweet and the reception area and rooms are always clean and organized. I don't know if she's the only person that does waxing because whenever I go in, I'm usually the only person there. However, my appointments are usually on Mondays in the morning, so it would make sense that the place is quiet. Bottom line is that this place is incredible and totally worth every dollar. read more

I've been serviced by both Ahn & Cheryl. They are very professional and know what is best for my skin. I am completely satisfied with their services and fully comfortable to go to them again. Ahn has been doing this for years and I completely trust her with what my skin needs. Cheryl knows my skin type so her facials and peels leave my skin glowing. She has also done facial waxings for me. She is very meticulous in what she does, and I benefit from the results. I can't wait to go back for my next facial! Thanks ladies! read more

I'm pretty sure I just got waxed by my best friend. Or at least Theresa makes it feel that way. Thankfully after a small mixup with Groupon, Theresa was there to save the day and me as a client. Or else I would have never experienced the best Brazilian ever. She was incredible. She welcomes you with such a great smile, assures you that it's going to be quick and smooth if you're nervous, and the next thing you know, your pants are off and almost done. She doesn't count to three like my previous Brazilian. She finds talking is a lot less painful and she's right! We talked so much that I totally forgot I was getting waxed! I can't say enough good things. The place is also so clean and you don't feel like you're in a doctors office. With it being designed so beautifully you almost feel like you're at home. Lastly, Theresa offers a great deal for her Groupon clients, gives you a great coupon to refer friends and even offers a special offer for you when those friends book with her. So go do it! See Theresa and you'll thank me. I know you will. read more

I got a Brazilian wax from Madison and I couldn't be any happier with the results. She made me feel very comfortable and did all she could to make it not as painful. I was hopeful for a good Brazilian wax after seeing the wonderful reviews, but it was a bit of a let down. Great customer service in terms of scheduling, which is why I'm giving 3 stars. I'm a pretty frequent waxer and decided to try to find a place closer of a commute. I found Ahn on Groupon and decided to give it a try. Not really sure what it was, whether it was the wax or the technique of the esthetician but OW. Wow, most painful wax I've had. Felt like she kept waxing the same spot over and over. It was stinging like crazy. She also was wearing gloves I believe, which I would understand why ppl would lol, BUT the wax on the gloves kept touching the sensitive part of my pee pee area!! So whenever she went to remove the strip of wax, her glove would tug a little of my skin in the sensitive area. Also upon examining the area, I was disappointed to find a small strip of hair left. There's always some stubborn hairs, but this is obviously a patch of hair that wasn't even touched with wax. As I was checking out, I was told the student price which is unbelievably considerate. However, I don't think it's enough to bring me back. read more

This place is GREAT! I called around to see where I could get a quick eyebrow clean-up and many places were closed or booked. I wanted to get it done today and not wait. When I called, they were really nice, not snotty, like other places I had called wanting to just do a "walk-in". While they didn't have walk-in, they were able to book me an appointment within 2 hours. I saw Theresa, who did an amazing job! She asked me questions about my skin care or problems before doing anything. She really took the time to check out the shape and find out what I was really looking for. I've been in SD for almost a year now, getting my brows messed up every time. I have FINALLY found a place I can go to, and Theresa is my girl! They are located in an office building, so that might throw some people off, but it's worth the hunt to find them! You won't be disappointed with Theresa when you go. read more

I first came to Ahn through a group buying site's certificate and was simply looking for a great discount, but the quality of Ahn's work has made me a client for life! Cheryl rocks. She was so patient and sweet, on top of being technically awesome. I changed my mind about a few things throughout our trial run, and I felt totally comfortable doing so. Just went to Ahn today for the first time and I've never been happier with a brazilian wax. When you walk in, it instantly feels spa-like. I appreciate that with the fair price point, you're not in a no-frills type of waxing place. All the rooms/ common areas are very nice and clean. The lady doing my wax was Aitana. She was very pleasant, and most importantly... painless! I've had some painful waxes in my day, but Aitana's unique technique of doing long, thin strips left me clean with minimal pain. I purchased the Groupon for Ahn but would gladly pay full price for the quality of the service! I texted the number on the website and the recipient was polite and responsive. I was able to get a next-day appointment for two waxes so that was nice. The location is in the Devry University building. It's a little difficult to find, but Ahn will give you detailed instructions that are very easy to follow! I think I have found my go-to brazilian wax place! I will definitely recommend her to all my friends and family members! And ask Aitana about her student discount! read more

After reading all the good reviews, I decided to get my FIRST Brazilian wax here. I purchased a deal from one of those websites, so it was only $25. I can handle pain fairly well & I hadn't heard any too awful stories.. so I wasn't really nervous .. but holy cow .. I don't think I was prepared enough! No matter what anyone says, it WILL hurt! But Ahn is a good conversationalist & will keep you talking & will stop when the pain is too much. The only CON is that afterwards, I saw quite a few sparse hairs .. but I was still satisfied with everything because I understood that she couldn't possibly get out every hair. BUT after my 2nd brazilian experience elsewhere (Viva Brazil), I realized that it was possible! read more
