Pretty good place! The first time I went we had the coconut rice starter - that was delicious. For my meal I had a veggie massaman curry. I personally thought it was a little to sweet, maybe too much coconut milk. The second time my family went I got a red veggie curry which was 10x better. Food was average. Service was slow though. We waited a good 30 mins for the first dish. They bring out the dishes as they become ready so there was about a 20 minute gap between the first person that got their food to the last person. That's no good. Sticky rice is one of my favorite restaurants in Murphy! There is a wide variety of options, ranging from your classic pad Thai to green curry. However, what I love the most are their appetizers! There is one in which it is sort of like fried rice with bits of crunchiness to it. I've never seen it at any other Thai restaurant. The only bad thing about this restaurant is that it's almost always crowded, so service can be slow at times. However, it is truly worth it if you're out in the suburbs looking for some authentic Thai food! read more

I immediately love this place. In had the pineapple curry and my girlfriend had the pad kee mow, and both were awesome. Best curry I have had this side of Dallas. The staff is really friendly and on top of things. The food took a little longer to get out than I would have expected considering the volume of customers, but it was worth the wait. If I could offer one suggestion, it would be to get more kinds of hot tea (because I really want chrysanthemum tea), but I believe this will now be a regular spot for me. read more

We tried Sticky Rice yesterday for the first time. Everything was delicious and the service was great. My family shared the corn cakes(so good) and crispy pork rolls(yummy). I ordered the basil fried rice w/shrimp (no mushroom, add egg). My husband and son had the chicken thai fried rice. I couldn't resist ordering the fried banana w/ice cream(coconut and vanilla) for dessert. Everything was amazingly fresh and delicious. The fresh coconut in the ice cream brought a small tear to my eye. Honestly, I will not cheat on Sticky with any other Thai restaurant. I've come to really like this place a lot. After hearing my coworkers rave about this place we decided to give it a try. You have to try the Nam Kao WITH curved pork its like Thai style taco kinda. Its severed with a mix of coconut rice which makes it chewy but very flavorful. They have a spicy scale and I don't like spicy food so I got it least spiciest but my boyfriend got the 2nd from the bottom spiciest and he couldn't even handle it, his nose had started to run. Makes me wonder how spicy the Thai spicy is. We got the Pad Thai and pepper pork which were both so delis but were to big for us we should've just shared. For desert we got the stick rice with mango.. let me tell you HEAVEN in our mouths... okay maybe a little exaggeration but it's seriously bomb dot com. Sticky Rice is located in a shopping strip in Murphy. They do attempt to give the place some ambience, service is polite but sometimes can be spotty, which is typical of most mom and pop restaurants. The food is Thai Laotian and good for this side of North Dallas without having to drive so far. Growing up in North Dallas, Thai, Laotian or any ethnic food weren't much to sing about, so we were surprised how tasty Sticky Rice is for being in the suburb. It is decently authentic and more spicy than the typical Thai. A level 3 heat is sufficient for most diners; scale down to 2 or 1 if you are not used to eat spicy food. We have been here multiple times since this place opened and there are occasional variability in spice level and food taste, because there is going to be some variability when food is made fresh from scratch. I do like that they use fresh tendrils full of clusters of green peppercorn in some of their dishes (probably frozen, since fresh green peppercorn is not easy to come by); in addition to the heat from the ubiquitous hot red chile, the green peppercorn add a different layer of spiciness and heat. While the food is good, it can be pricey because portion is quite small. If you are eating family style, you will need to order 1 dish or more per person. read more

Actually, someone came to take our menus away before even taking our order. Really like this place. Just moved across the street and I can say it will be dangerous. I had the pad kee mow and it was delicious, decently priced, and decent portion size. We got it with spiciness of 2 which was too hot for my wife, but I'll be going for a 3 or 4 next time. We also got the sweet and sour chicken which I didn't really care for, and was a little overpriced imo. Awesome! I had the crab egg rolls and they were absolutely delicious as well as the chicken fried rice. Pretty plain decor but quaint and casual. Service was good and pretty fast. They even offered me something to drink while I waited for my food. I haven't dined in yet but I've had takeout twice.
