This is my first time ever rating a restaurant for its poor customer service. Ordered my food on the phone and was rudely snapped at by the hostess. Wanted to try this place for a review. Nám kao(cured pork salad wrap) is crispy and fresh. Lao traditional sausages taste like at home and tasty. The only downside of my appetizers are the lao fried chicken wings they are still good but not as crispy that much like there was no batter just marinated. My entree was the red curry chicken and was flavorful and the thickness of it was at the right viscosity. Need to try more that was on the menu that I haven't yet but my stomach full will try more when I can. read more

When i walked inside, at first i had to wait for about 2-3 minutes to get situated to a table and got seated. I ordered a lemonade, crab cheese roll, and my favorite time all of soups, Kao Piek Sen Chicken soup. How i know this was because ever since i was 6, i always ate dishes my mom and dad cooked for me and yes, I'm Thai. The texture of the noodles was tasty and the broth had different types of seasonings and spices that i had never tasted before. And the artwork that i think the owner painted on the wall was outstanding. It was like i was eating in Taiwan and felt like i was home. The lastly thing that i ordered for dessert was fried coconut ice cream. I never ate fried ice cream so i gave it a shot. The texture of the fried bread was perfect and the coconut ice cream was still good inside making the combination of the bread and coconut ice cream tasty as heaven. Had the pleasure of dining here a few days ago and it was absolutely spectacular. Spring rolls and crab cream cheese rolls to start with. They were fresh and amazing. Had Thai spicy basil with chicken spice level four. The spice was just right, put a sweat on my brow but didn't over power the fabulous flavor a of the dish. My wife enjoyed the sweet and sour chicken, very good dish. The other star of the night was the Tom Yum soup with seafood spice level 3. Intense flavors with a bounty of seafood. Squid, oysters, shrimp, scallops, and fish balls. Then dessert stole the show. Fried banana with coconut ice cream. Look forward to coming back again and again and again!!! read more

Just got take out and when it got home found that all of the meals were a half portion of what we would receive if we were eating at the restaurant. Called to complain and was told that it was packed by the manger and then was laughed at by the person on the phone. Almost $50 bill for apps and two entrees and then get half of what we paid for and then treated terribly on the phone. The family LOVES Sticky Rice. Good food options for those of us who live in the Murphy area are limited. That being said, Sticky Rice is one the of great little places in our town. I wanted to give this place another chance but was disappointed with my 2nd visit as well. The chicken wings weren't fresh were hard and dry like when you heat up leftovers from the night before. If you are looking for a quick fix for Thai food this is the place. I ordered the Pad Thai with chicken with a spice level 4 and it was not hot at all; however, my friend ordered pad kee mow on spice level 2 and it was extremely hot. The spice level varies on the dish. The Pad Thai comes with tofu as well which I was not aware of. I will be coming back if I ever want Thai food nearby but it is not anything out of this world. Our family goes to Sticky Rice every weekend. It is a great place to have a casual lunch or dinner. I have been there 12 or 13 times, but only have had 3-4 dishes. The green curry, basil rice, and pad kee mow are great. I am so glad that Sticky Rice has decided to come to Murphy. The ONLY knock I have is that they open at 12 Noon on Saturdays and Sundays (Open at 11am on weekdays). Our go-to Asian spot in the Murphy/Wylie area. There's not much in terms of Asian food out here, but we're lucky to have Sticky Rice. We always order the Lao Sausage with Sticky Rice, Crab Fried Rice, and Pad Kee Mow. The Pad Kee Mow is usually a little on the sweeter side, so we always request for it to be less sweet and it comes out great. I rarely give reviews, but I thought our visit deserved one. Not only was the food delicious but the staff was on point! It's great to finally have a Lao/Thai restaurant in this area. I am very picky when it comes to Thai food. I've eaten Thai food across the country and I know what good Thai food tastes like. Since moving to the Dallas area, I've tried many places but had yet to find a place that made me want to come back for more. But today, I found heaven! This place is amazing! My husband and I ordered the Mussuman curry, pad thai, and pad see ew (all with chicken with a spice level of 4). Everything we ordered was perfect! We were blown away with the wonderful flavors. We were so full but couldn't stop eating! The portions were pretty big too. Our kids had the chicken fried rice without veggies and they really enjoyed it. My picky son even had seconds! Good God, this place is so good. If you're looking for authentic Laotian and Thai food, this is the place. All the flavors are on point. I went in a big group and we sampled the entire menu. The highest spicy level is really spicy and we made the mistake of ordering most of our dishes spicy. There are some dishes that are meant to eat spicy (papaya salad, pad kee mao, laab, and some aren't (pad see ew, lad na, pad thai, pad woon sen). I highly recommend the Lao style sausage! read more

We've been here twice now and I would definitely go back again. The service is always good, the food is yummy. *Edit* We've been back a few times since my original review, and I've been a bit disappointed. The service isn't great, it seems like there are never enough people working, though they're always very nice. Our table is always sticky, maybe they need a better cleaning method, but it's pretty gross that I've experienced that multiple times. Also, I can't stand when restaurants have a spice scale (1-5) that isn't accurate. I'm not a big spicy food fan, but I do like I bit of heat. If I order a two out of five, I don't expect to be sweating and chugging water from the intensity of the heat. I only order "NO SPICE" now. We really didn't expect Sticky Rice to be as good as it is being that it is located in a strip mall. With the name Sticky Rice we thought it was a chain, however, quickly found out it is a family owned restaurant. As regulars we have tried many items on the menu and have never been disappointed. The chicken lettuce wraps are the best I have ever had, the beef Pho is spot on, red shrimp curry deliciously filled with many shrimp, crab fried rice is also very good. They are BYOB and provide an ice bucket to keep your white wine chilled if you ask for it. Each meal is made to order so if you go when they are busy you may need to wait a bit, however, it is worth the wait. Ask for the spice rack if you like to add an extra kick to your meal. read more

Now I've had Spicy Thai Basil with minced chicken. Very good. They don't buy their veggies where I buy mine. Crisp, firm, fresh, tasty. The tofu soup (complimentary) was ok. Same thing though... Fresh tasting mushrooms, peas, etc. I think their coconut based soup or egg drop are better. read more

Completed my order tipped and additional $15 as what I believed to be for my delivery driver. 2 plus hrs after I made my order Sticky Rice calls me to say my order is at the pick up counter. As a lover of Thai food, I just thought this place okay. I'm a creature of habit, so regardless of the restaurant (helps me gauge the chances of returning) I'll order just about the same dish. Ordered take out for dinner with the family, so I can't judge the service here. The inside was nice however and from what I could tell clean. Ordered Pad See Ewe, Pad Thai and one of their curries, slips my mind which one specifically, and coconut icecream! Pad See Ewe was good, not the best I've ever had but decent. My parents were just meh about their entrees as well. My biggest disappoint was the icecream. I like for coconut icecream to be creamy but still light. This just tasted like they poured sugar, coconut milk and flakes into an icecream maker and called it a day. One of the best Thai/Laotian place in town! Authentic fresh flavors and good promotions. Tried the steak and peppers, jungle curry, and Thai basil curry - everything was delicious! The steak was cooked well, very juicy and tender. The jungle curry had very strong flavors going on so it was a bit much for my liking but my brother loves it. The Thai basil curry was my absolute favorite tons of crisp veggies and a nice basil flavor. Would love to try the curries next time. read more

I love this place. I'm from murphy but I never tried this place before. But today I tried it and it's one of my favorite new places to eat. Loved the herb chicken entree and fried rice. Husband liked the cashew chicken enteee and Thai fried rice. Did not like the pad Thai so I gave it right back and took home another herb chicken and fried rice. Chicken satay was delicious but it was too small of a serving. Beef jerky appetizer was pretty good too. Waiting on them to bring out dessert. Went to Thailand a couple of years ago and must say that this is the closest we have had to that eating experience since then. Pros: The Tom Yum soup had amazing flavor! Favorite of all the things we ordered. Cons: I ordered a 5 (on a scale of 1 to 5) on our curries and it didn't even register as spicy to me. The curries had okay flavor otherwise, but nothing special. We didn't like the crab and cheese wontons for some reason.. They were rolls instead of the pinched sachel type and were kinda soggy. My mom said her PadThai was rubbery and didn't have strong flavor. So the whole experience was just ok. Food wasn't completely terrible, but honestly not worth the eating out money. Probably won't be back even though there aren't any other Thai restaurants any where near where we live. I can cook a Thai curry on par with what they serve here AND make it the kind of spicy I crave! read more

I am a huge Thai fan but it's hard to find quality Thai in a clean environment in the burbs. Problem solved. This place is welcoming, clean, friendly, and tasty. The fresh rolls are amoung the best I've ever had. The pad kee now is a wonderful fusion of Thai flavors with your choice of heat level. Be careful here because Thai food is traditionally very spicy. I love very spicy so I chose level 3 out of 5 spicy level. It still brought the pain and I probably could have done fine with level 2. Regardless I got a quality product in a clean environment with a friendly staff. I will definitely be back as well as recommend it to all of my friends. read more
