Excellent lodge, would give six stars if I could. Location--excellent. 15 minutes from town and a very large, very nice Wal-Mart. Location on the river is great. Nice, sloping bank access that's relatively safe (it's still a river though...) for kids, with a nice gravel bank. The current right at the lodge isn't all that strong compared to other places. The facilities are in great shape. I thought the carpet was brand new, but they told me it's years old--they just care for it all very well. The fishing right at the lodge is great--some of our best fish came from the bank at the lodge. The people are wonderful--very nice, very quick with advice. The boat rental is very nice to have, if you stay long it's nice to be able to fish different places. Boats are well maintained, they said they replace motors every 3 years and I believe it. Electric start, which is really nice drifting the river. If you damage a motor (which is likely to happen for first timers on the river), they are extremely reasonable about fees. This is one area I thought they could use to pad their bill, and take it from personal experience from someone who has a boat at home and knows the expense of them--they are extremely reasonable about it. Multiple guides with different options for fly, spin, bait fishing. The only thing I can think of to improve is I wish they had a mechanism to return the boats after 5 PM. Pay extra or something to be able to return them at sundown or so. When the evening hatch is on upriver 5:00 comes pretty early. If you are a hard-core big brown fisherman, especially from the bank, you may want to stay a bit further upriver, but there are browns here, one of our biggest came from the bank at the lodge. If the river's low it's hard to get to the catch & release area up by the dam, and if that's your preference you probably have more experience with the area and probably aren't reading reviews..... So many options for families or first time visitors who want to have options--the pool, playscape, swimming in the river (it's cold, yes!), fishing from bank, fishing from boat, fishing with a guide (fly, spin, bait, just tell them what you want)s, plus not a bad drive into town--make this an excellent place to stay. Pics are fish from the lodge.

The guide not only cleaned our fish, but packed them on ice in a complimentary styrofoam cooler! The lady in charge (Betty??) treated us like family. The guide not only helped us catch fish, but even brought us back for coffee and hot chocolate when we looked cold (heavy rains slashed the temps). First fishing guide service that I have ever wanted to use again - soon!

From having highly Experienced Guides taking you out to catch more fish than any one person could dream, these guides will take you ashore to prepare a lunch of fried fish, hush puppies, taters, bananas pudding and a few jokes to start you back onto the river. ( There is also a Box lunch in place of the fresh fried that consists of what I'm told is sandwiches ) If you want a down to earth business that makes sure you catch a bunce of fish and a whole lot of memories, Call Debbie and let her hook you up!! What a Blessing to have found this place!! Thank you

Beautiful area with a lot of hiking trails. One or 2 are easy but the rest will be more difficult…read more We had my parents with us so we did the easy Homestead Trail and walked from the homestead to the viewing platform and back. Then we drove around a little and found parking areas at campsites close to the river so we could get other views. The ranger did tell us that we could get more places if we had 4WD. We stayed mostly in the middle and lower sections. I wish we'd gone at night for the night sky but wasn't aware of it at the time and needed to move on to our next destination. We will be back in the future to enjoy more of the river and the park.

And today, I'm writing this review solely based on the drive down to Triple (aka Twin) Falls. If you are not into a long hike (2 miles+ one way), then this is definitely the one for you. To see the waterfall, you'll only need to take a very short hike from the trailhead (although driving down there is very winding and steep so there is even a road sign that says, "Cool your brakes" on the way.) Going back to the hike part, if you want to go up to the top of the waterfall however, you'll need to hike another 0.25 miles from the bottom but it's definitely doable even if you absolutely hate to hike/walk! The exact date of the hike was today (Wednesday, April 20, 2022). It had been raining on and off all day so the trail was muddy. But in my opinion, the rain made the whole experience so mystic, mysterious, and very green with abundance of water spouting out from the top of it. The water was, surprisingly, not so muddy. We took the time to explore the area for at least an 1.5 hours. Interestingly, not a single soul came and went during the whole duration of our visit; we had the whole area to ourselves. The area was so picturesque. It's definitely a great place for a meditation to empty your mind. You'll also have so many spots to take beautiful pictures from so many different angles. I HIGHLY recommend this place for waterfall chasers!!
