We managed to pull 3 fish out of the water before the lightning started. Kevin got us off the water quickly and pulled out a lunch spread that could have fed a small army. After lunch and some great conversation, the weather cleared up and we ended up having a few hours of beautiful clear skies. With Kevin's help, we each pulled at least 10-15 beautiful trout out of the river. Kevin was quick to get the fish off the hook, and get us back in the water. Making our trip easy and very fun. We would definitely go back out with Kevin, not only was he an amazing guide, but also a great person.

We had Jamie and Curtis as our guides for a two day trip. This is definitely a full service place. They tie your hook, bait it, and tell you when to reel it in... then when you get a fish they take it off for you. I enjoy getting in there and playing with the bait and the fish, so by the second day I convinced Curtis to let me pick my crawfish and bait the hook and even take a few fish off of the hook as well. These guides really know where the fish are, and what to use to catch them. They provide lunch on some of the trips, which is generally good (store bought) food. We did misunderstand that the bar had some limited food options. All in all we decided the wording on their website was just as little confusing regarding the food options and about boat rentals (as opposed to guided fish trips). But if we had not been wanting the pool option on this trip, this was a really nice place and we would definitely consider returning!

While the water was up and we did not have any luck fishing, we were fortunate to find this place. The cabin was perfect for the price and had almost all the basics you could need. Access to fishing was excellent, especially with waders, and they also rent boats or you could schedule a guided fishing trip. They indicated plans are in the works for a version of a restaurant and I would say that would be a welcome addition, even if only open limited days and hours. But if you don't mind sandwiches and burgers on the grill, there is a wal mart a relatively short drive away. The pool was small but enough for a refreshing dip and to sit and relax for a while. We will definitely be going back.
