    The view....

When my fiancé and I first decided to do this we were not exactly sure how a bed-and-breakfast like this would work because we are used to staying in normal hotels. But it was exactly what we were hoping it to be and EVERYTHING more. The experience as a whole was nothing short of PHENOMENAL. It was refreshing to get away and be around Moose and Tina who are such kind and whole hearted people that make you feel right at home. Plus they are SO fun to chat with. They went above and beyond to make the trip special. We started calling them "Mom and Dad" by the second day because they were taking such incredible care of us. The food was OUTSTANDING, we ate until we COULDN'T MOVE for every meal. The lodge is such a relaxing environment with so many cool elements to the decor and scenery. There is also awesome wildlife watching. A family of deer that come right up to the house and bald eagles that fly across the skyline. The stars at night WILL take your breath away (bring a telescope.) The beds are extremely comfortable and the rooms are all very spacious. There's not a single picture that will do the view justice from the top of the lodge but I have posted a few. It honestly looked like a green screen it was so beautiful. (note: None of my photos have been edited for this post. That cotton candy colored skyline is REAL! ) The fishing was FANTASTIC, the guides were hilarious and we so much fun. We caught at least 100 fish between the two of us over two days. It was so exciting and thrilling. (Fishing Highlights: Alan caught a rare California Golden and I caught a big brown trout.) Then, on the last day we kayaked on the Buffalo River and it was so much fun. The Buffalo River is hands-down the most beautiful rivers to kayak. Moose also helped us arrange the reservation for the kayaks. We stayed at the lodge over the Fourth of July holiday and at night we got to watch about 10 different firework shows from the balcony, near and far - you can see them all. I will never forget it. Overall, we will NEVER forget our experience and hope to go back as soon as possible. The White River Inn is a hidden gem. Don't hesitate. Make your reservation. Families, couples, friends, colleagues- every type of group will have a blast. Thank you so much Moose and Tina for the experience, we hope to see you again soon.

Words can't express this fantastic lodge tucked away on a bluff perched 300 ft. above the White River. The owners, Moose and Tina, promised the world. They didn't deliver anything less. I will definitely be going back for more. This place would be ideal for a great weekend get away for couples or for the outdoorsman. The food at the lodge was better than any Resturant I've ever eaten at. The accommodations were 5 stars plus. In 2 days of fishing between 4 guys there were over 300 fish caught! Highly recommend for nearly year round fun. Drive or fly. Ask for Moose!!!

Tina and Moose handled every detail to perfection and our father/son trip turned out exactly as I had hoped.

First things first....call dibs on the master bedroom!! We had the OTHER main floor bedroom, and it was the smallest of the ones we saw, plus only a shower. The master is huge, with a huge bathroom and jetted (and huge) tub. There are TVs in every living space and bedroom (there are 5 bedrooms, I think). The cable stations are a bit out of whack, but that's the area, not the house. The home was decorated very tastefully. The bed was fairly firm, but that's better than being too soft. The home was very clean, and had some decent views, although with the new construction nearby, some of the area's grounds were a bit torn up and unsightly. It wasn't far to the lake, and I wouldn't consider it being ON the lake. The clubhouse was fabulous as well. I could list all the amenities, but they are all listed quite accurately on their website. DO bring your own shampoo and soap of course. There was a small sample of some wonderful shampoo, but barely enough for me, let alone anyone else. The prices are VERY reasonable; you can't stay in an upscale hotel for the price you get the house!! It was fairly simple to find, despite arriving just before dusk and the sun in my eyes the whole time. Just make sure you don't stay on 265 when given the option...go to Highway P a few feet past that turn.

The home is just minutes from Branson, which worked out great to accommodate for nap times. When we weren't out on the Branson Landing, or visiting hot spots in Branson, we could relax in the spacious home nestled in a wooded area near the lake. The house was very clean and had everything we needed to cook a meal and just relax. When our son went to sleep, my wife and I played pool, watched TV or just enjoyed the calm on the back deck. We found great restaurants in Hollister where we could avoid some the hustle and bustle of Branson. We had the best night of sleep in a long time on the comfortable beds. I will recommend this vacation home to anyone visiting Branson. The house has five bedrooms and we will visit again with family and friends.

Details of our stay--received an email the day before our arrival stating the owners had purchased new furniture, bedding, and had "stocked" the room with "luxury" items. Nothing was new, furniture outdated but okay, and no luxury items of any kind were present. The "dedicated work area" was a small round table, with two old chairs (like you find in a dentist's office from the 90s). The advertised, provided breakfast was a pint of milk, 2 small individual juices, two small granola bars, and two individual cold cereals--one of these expired by six months. This was all the breakfast for two people for a two-night stay. The advertised sauna was extra cost, though was listed as free. With cleaning and service fees, room was $175 a night. Weird thing--our room had a small flyer with the picture of a young girl, with a short bio stating she was 13 and was the housekeeper for the room. Unless they are violating child labor laws, I assume this was one of their kids (and could still be a child labor violation?) A blatant ploy for tips or sympathy or...? All in all, way overpriced and not as described/advertised. Their Facebook post states all rooms are remodeled with fireplaces--not true. We had an issue with safety and reported it, nothing was done. This place in no way felt like a wellness spa stay.

When we first arrived, a man was sitting behind a closed door to the right of the entry in a recliner, almost hiding behind his laptop. We walked into the lobby and saw no one, so we went and knocked on the door of the room where the man was sitting. He finally spoke to us and we were able to get to our room. later than evening, we wanted to take a shower, but found that the shower had no faucet, only a pipe coming out of the wall. That left us no choice but to take a bath in the jacuzzi. Getting in and out was problematic for me, and truly almost dangerous, but I managed. On top of everything else, there is no breakfast so it is false advertising to call it a "B & B". Whereas under the prior owners, I rated the place a 5 out of 5, and referred numerous friends to the place over the years, I am stretching it to give it a rating of 2. Needless to say, we won't be back. It should be noted that the "host", when told of the shower issue, advised that his wife had been working on it and he thought it was finished. He did move us to another room, but the shower in the other room hardly left room to turn around and the water never got more than luke-warm. All I. all, it was a VERY disappointing experience. PS - a phone call on Saturday to advise of the problem with the room was never returned.
