I got my glasses from here a few years ago and went back today to get contacts. The ladies at this location are always so nice, friendly and patient. Today, Anixa took care of me and was very good and detailed about the process of getting contacts and answered every single one of my questions. During our contacts training, she explained everything with details and was very patient as I attempted to put on my first contacts. She provided me with everything I had to know about my contacts and how to take care of them at home, as well as all the information needed for my follow up visit in a week. I used to go to the Rego Park location and after that closed -- I guess for renovation? -- my family and I started going here. At this location, they are very relaxed and laid back, they offer their opinions and actually help you make a decision. They aren't tossing useless things at you and really get down to the nitty gritty of it. If you don't need it they won't hassle you and the appointments with the optometrists are great. I've gotten a different one each year for about 5 years and really they make you laugh and smile, want to carry a conversation, and overall want your experience there to be fun. Which it always is -- I find it amusing to come and get my check-up and select new glasses. Great customer service and great selection! read more

I have not actually gone to this business because they cancelled my appointment the day before because of an "emergency". I explained to her that due to my insurance expiring soon, and my last exam being on September 30th, that was the ONLY day I would be eligible to get my exam through my insurance. The insurance company had called them on 9/28, and they told her that they were open on Saturday and could see me. I called the next day to make sure it was fine, and to actually specify what time I could come in as they had told the insurance company that I could come in anytime before 5. She gave me a time and added my appointment to the calender. So, obviously I was suprised when I was out shopping and received the call stating the doctor would not be in. So, after I hear this I throw a fit, and explain how if I don't get in Saturday I won't be eligible until Feb/March. After being on the phone with them for a while the lady admitted it was not an issue of an emergency, it was an issue of not having the calender correctly marked as a holiday. (Yom Kippur) If you are not going to be in, make sure that all of your employees KNOW that you won't be in, and put it in the calender. Luckily my insurance was able to find someone for me to see, but it was very stressful trying to find someone else to see me on such short notice. read more

I love this place so much, me and my family have been going here for like 2-3 years. I'm so happy to have this place near my house. I am going to take my dad in a few days to get his glasses and I cant wait to see how much he likes it there. We were going to another one that was really far and wayyyyy to expensive. My dad did not like it there and ever since he hates going to the eye doctor. I really hope after going to this place his mind will change. I 100% recommend this place. By far the WORST eye care facility I've ever been to. The doctor (I don't even know his name-he didn't introduce himself) motioned for me to come to his office. Then his phone rang and he took the call and told me to sit back down. I waited while he took a personal call. He finally called me in. He barely spoke. He administrated the test and was done. I'm not used to this at all. Call me crazy, but I'm used to doctors actually caring for their patients and actually communicating. The eye technician was VERY pushy (she didn't introduce herself so who knows what her name was). She made it seem like I HAD to order from them. She made it seem like she could not process the insurance paperwork without me purchasing contact lenses. Don't believe anything she says. She will claim "we don't mess with insurances, we follow their rules strictly". When she says this, you know she's about to pressure you into buying lenses. Their price per contact lens box is $135. DO NOT order from them!!!! You have other choices!!Even if you have coverage from your eye insurance, it's not worth it. It ends up costing you more if you use your benefits and order from them. 1-800-Contacts prices their contact lenses from $44-$60 per box! Oh, and she will tell you that you cannot use your insurance benefits online. But you can! Google, or call your insurance directly. She also was speaking directly to my husband, even though I was the patient. She saw that I was trying to not order from their facility so she tried to convince him. I've been ordering and wearing lenses for 6 years. This was my real experience. I will not be returning to this facility, because I appreciate professionalism. Just had to get my lenses put in to a new frame, which was done luckily because they had the same frame in stock I'd bought, but broke, 2 years ago. The staff was very friendly & efficient & I was in & out in no time being able to see clearly. My experience in 2016 was very good as well. I had to get a brand new set of glasses, which included my 1st transitional lenses. They continued to be perfectly fine so I just had them put in to the new frames. A good experience, but then that has been the case for several years as I've gone to this location before. read more

This is my 2nd go round at this location. I liked them quite a bit the first time. My return visit-2 yrs later-didn't work out as smoothly. On my initial contact-2 yrs ago-I ordered glasses and a new frame. That was simple enough. But this time, I decided to use the same frame-thinking it would save money. What this Sterling location didn't explain-the 2nd time-was that I would need to return to have the new lenses cut, and placed into my old frame. And, that I would have to part with my glasses for at least 4 hours to do so. Fortunately, I had an old pair as a partial backup. It was difficult scheduling with them for the 4 hr window. They ended up doing it in 2 hrs. Don't think I will return. ;-( read more

this place is such a rip off !! the lady told me that they have a "special " on glasses and that the glasses cost $79.99 if i paid without using my insurance but if i wanted to use my insurance towards these glasses they were all of a sudden $200. also i paid for an eye exam and did not even receive my prescription for the eye exam . i called and they kept telling me the doctor has to sign off on it but hasn't yet done that and it's been 2 days . the lady then told me the prescription would be ready for pick up today so i called today & now the doctor isn't even in and i have to wait till tomorrow to get my prescription . when i called and confronted the lady about it she said " well you should of asked for your prescription when you were here" i'm sorry but isn't that your job to give me everything i paid for . they were so quick to take my money . read more

My entire family have been coming here for years. It had great service and the manger Mellie is superb. However, it only take one BAD experience to say I've had enough and we're NEVER going back. My elderly mother purchased a pair of bifocals. The customer service representative did not measure the line of vision correctly. (She did not use a ruler or an apparatus to make sure it was correct.) My mother was very dissatisfied with her glasses. After several visits and several people remeasuring the line for the bifocals, they DID NOT want to refund her money NOR REPLACE the glasses without incurring an additional cost. As a matter of fact, she was told "You picked these glasses out." I believe that if the glasses you select are not the corrects size for your prescription, they are bound to tell you so. The ophthalmologist (Not theirs) who wrote the prescription wrote a letter to that manger telling her that the glasses were not correctly done. Still there was not offer to replace them without an additional cost to my mother. As a result, the place has lost 6 customers! read more
