After getting a quote from Car Toys a friend of mine suggested I stop by Stereo Warehouse on my way home and they quoted me literally half for more equipment! Install was great and the owner even asked that I come back so that he could make the sound even BETTER, which he did. They installed my stereo in the wrong compartment and then overcharged me for it ($150, just the stereo install after being told it'd be half that, including parts when I came in a few days before and spoke to the weird owner guy who hit on my girlfriend). When they finished they wouldn't let me leave because some dude working there demanded $20 (cash only) for an adapter...they wouldn't give me my keys and made me walk to some random ATM on Aurora. This was a really bad experience and just so unprofessional, so much so that I just had to write this review in order to quell the cognitive dissonance that this bizarre, unpleasant exchange left me with because I don't ever write reviews but this was just too weird. I feel cheated and swindled and won't be going back and would advise others to not support these thugs. Go to Car Toys across the street, Best Buy or just do it your self. read more

I bought almost a full new system (door speakers, tweeters, amp, 2 new 12" subs, new subwoofer box) at Car Toys in Lynnwood 2 weeks ago and had to go back numerous times because the subs kept jumping in bass erratically, amp overheating, and distortion in the Focal speakers in the doors. It's been extremely frustrating to say the least. So I went to Stereo Warehouse today because of past experiences years ago and they diagnosed the amp for $40 finding Car Toys over powered the amp and speakers and they made the right adjustments to get everything where it should be. I told them if they fixed the problem with a different amp and speakers I'd be fine with it and return the old components to Car Toys, but Tucker didn't try selling me equipment I didn't need. They just want happy customers. I recommend Stereo Warehouse for your needs and they've given me a reason to give them more business. Great store for anything your car needs! The owner is down to earth and tells it like it is. I got some speakers for my old car and they worked around the price for some main brand speakers and when I came and got my security system put in they only wanted 200 bucks for a 600 system I found online. The cool thing is I came in at 10am I had to be out of there by 12pm and they worked around it. for them to install is dirt cheap! Stereo Warehouse - The best!!! My son bought a car with a stereo system installed by Car Toys. Needless to say, the system stopped working. We took it to Car Toys but they couldn't figure out what they did wrong when they installed it. To be fair, the technician didnt do anything other than stand there, look at it and check a fuse. While they admitted it was their work product, they refused to look into it further without being paid for an hour of labor. Not only is their policy of fixing their work product, horrible, the customer service we received was equally as bad. We took it to stereo wharehouse, they tested various things associated with the system and found the root of the problem. One of the technicians, Miles, spent a lot of time working with my son to make sure he got it working. They were all very helpful, and their customer service is on point. Car toys could learn a few things from them. I highly recommend Stereo Warehouse!! read more

After some really un-nice jerkfaces stole my car stereo last winter...I was more than ready for some good sound in my car. I checked a few other places in the area; one of the larger chains (you know who I'm talkin' 'bout) wanted to put a really, really nice system in; while completely ignoring the budgetary limit that I had mentioned. When I re-mentioned the budget that I had in mind, the salesperson acted as if that amount of money couldn't buy anything decent. Ugh. I HATE salespeople, I really do. Next, I tried the local Fry's (who I usually love for all things electronica). While the pressure to buy wasn't there, I got the feeling that the workers there (while nice and helpful) were not the most savvy with their product(s). Oh dear... Finally, I saw the light and headed to Stereo Warehouse. I spoke on the phone with Dutton who patiently fielded my questions and was even able to make an appointment for me; same -day service! SWEET! I drove to the store and talked with Dutton. That guy is awesome! You can tell he really cares about what he does...and how he interacts with workers and customers alike. The dude is golden! As I work in the service industry, I know excellent service when I see it. I had brought an aftermarket amp in to be installed; Dutton stated that he would do it; and then pointed out that the brand name on the amp was a fake...so instead of a true MB Quart amplifier, I had a piece of "swap meet" garbage. Dutton's suggestion of going with a smaller in-line amp actually saved me money and time...and I know that it's the brand name that it says on the box. Install was great, too! Took a few hours, but the wait was worth it. The only thing that's super minor...the clock wasn't set. Not even worth mentioning. :) Do yourselves a favor; make Stereo Warehouse your FIRST stop when looking for car electronics! Don't waste time going elsewhere; there's really no need to do so. Well my story is similar... they installed a amp in my VW. The did not disconnect the battery during the install causing my airbag light to trip. Needless to say they wouldnt fix it because they didnt have the computer to reset the light and would not pay for it because its the risk of installation. They are deffinately a hack shop and would never go back. Do yourself a favor and walk across the street to Car Toys. read more

I've gone to stereo warehouse for all my cars. After having another audio shop mess up my subs these guys worked with me and explained everything that they could do and that I should demand the other shop to do. (So I'll save money) I've had three cars done here for speakers and subs and alarms no complaints at all. They have wifi and provide a waiting room with a soda machine. And I ended up blowing my speakers twice and they replaced them with no issues. (Cause it's covered under warranty) I only had to pay for shipping which was like 15 dollars. I've referred friends and family here. It's hard to find a honest family owned and operated Audio shop these days. read more

Installed them myself, if I had an issue they took care of it, without question. I cannot attest to their install dept. I have never used them. I was back at SW today. Before I went I checked the latest yelp reviews. I see that the sleazeballs at Car Toys have taken to writing terrible reviews of Stereo Warehouse, said reviews which always prominently mention Car Toys. Do not be fooled. I realize that these reviews aren't all from real people. I, however, am as real as it gets. Anyway, today's visit was for a diagnostic/repair. They whipped my car right in and fixed it in just a few minutes while I waited, for a very reasonable fee. Once again I was delighted. Admittedly, their showroom is a bit lacking. And there isn't an area where I could wait while my car got fixed. But those are truly minor complaints. I recommend Stereo Warehouse over Car Toys any day of the week. read more

So here's my story. I used to come in here all the time, I loved it here it's like Toys R Us for audiophiles. But yesterday I came and asked if they could do a remote start install and they said yeah just be here first thing in the morning we don't schedule appointments. So I show up this morning and I was third in line for an install and one of the employees said (some spanish name) can help you. So I waited up front for him for about 20 minutes and finally when he got up here I told him what I wanted done. As soon as he found out what kind of car I was driving, it's known for being a pain in the butt to program a remote start with my car, his attitude totally changed and he took a deep sigh and then he started telling me he could fit me in another day and that the guy that usually does installs isn't here. I told him I have to get it done today because it's my girlfriend's birthday and I wanted to have it done before she gets off work so I can surprise her, and he just kept telling me he can't do it and I should find somewhere else to get it done unless I want to come back in 3 days. The reason I showed up early this morning is so I can get in and get it done. One installer ruined it for me for good. Every other employee that works here goes out of their way to help but this guy doesn't want nothing to do with hard work. I went there thinking I would have a stereo installed that day. Since my car is an 87 toyota I asked if they could install the stereo I wanted, the guy said, "let me see if we have a kit". So he goes to the other side thinking I don't see him and helps two customers that get there after me, comes back 15 minutes later and says, "we don't have the kit" and walks off. Then I went to cartoys to see if they would have a problem with my car and the guy looks at my car and says "piece of cake". So I got one from them instead. read more

Dropped by Stereo Warehouse on a Sunday morning to see about installing an android head unit I purchased online. Manny and company were very welcoming in the store and very straight forward. Install was half the price of another Seattle competitor. Half. That other competitor had a 4 week waitlist. Stereo Warehouse had it done 1.5 hours after I walked in. ON A SUNDAY. I got a new radio/CD player installed in my Audi for $500 and change. Before I agreed to the deal, they warned me that the existing steering wheel controls on my car might not be fully compatible with the new system (it turned out that they did work, albeit with a caveat that they explained as soon as I picked up the car). The only complaint I had, which was minor and which they fixed, was that they forgot to give me the owners manual to the new system when I picked up the car (since the box that it came in was sitting on my seat, I assumed that the manual was inside). I called them when I got home, and they agreed to mail it to me, but after some 2 weeks, I still had not received it. I called back and spoke to "Jake", who took full ownership of the issue. He made no excuses, and when he realized that I lived near him, he offered to drop it off on his way home from work. He came by as promised, and even brought a remote for my device, which I did not need. Needless to say, this is the sort of customer service that is hard to find. I hope Jake's boss sees this, too, because he did a stellar job. read more

These guys are awesome. I had them install an entire system for me about 4 months ago and just recently Started having problems with the amp. I took it in and they immediately came out to take a look at it. They spent some time fiddling with it and then replaced the amp free of charge. Everybody was super nice, extremely helpful, and made sure I was satisfied with everything sending me on my way without paying for the install or the amp. These guys are great! I stopped bye the other day to have them look at the stereo in my work truck. I bought it from them a couple of years ago and It had recently quit working on the serius radio mode. Since it was over two years old, I Figured I would just have to buy a new system. The guy looked at it for a couple of seconds then drove it right in to their shop. Within about five minutes, they had it fixed and I was on the road again listening to 70's on 7. NO Charge!! Good deal on a great stereo. Recently made a trip to stereo warehouse in search of a new car stereo and came home with exactly what i wanted. Told the guy i was looking for HD radio and bluetooth and he showed me a ton of options in my price range. Started looking at Kenwoods and he offered to give me $50 off one that wasnt moving quickly. When asked why he said it was because straight out of the box it wasnt easy to use and required some time spent reading the owners manual, but that it was a better system than some of the others. Came here back in March to install a sub and a amp paid over $400 but had no issues and seemed like the work had been done good and clean. About a week ago my system just gave up and had no signal wasn't sure why that had happened but figured everything was gonna be okay since they had a guarantee on their job. Came in today to see if someone could take a look and let me know what was wrong since I walked in the guy who helped me seemed very uninterested in helping me and more interested in talking to other clients. He offered to take a look at my system and see what was going on he came outside took a brief look and said my amp was getting any power, he said to pop the hood open to take a closer look I did that's when another client that he seemed to know showed up he proceeded to walk away and go help him instead he had a small conversation while I was waiting there to be helped again seemed uninterested to help me. He then proceeded to walk back into the store with the other client and told me to wait , I waited about 5-10 min and decided to leave . You would think that after paying $400 for a service they would at least try to help you and pay attention to your needs. I stopped in on a Saturday to inquire about adding an amplifier to my stock stereo in order to power a subwoofer that I had purchased elsewhere. I was looking for a specific Rockford Fosgate amp so being Stereo Warehouse is the only authorized dealer in Seattle, they were the logical choice. I had an LC2i with me already to compliment the install as well as a custom tray for my amp to go under the seat. Rudi was super cool about getting it all installed, and their price was comparable another fosgate dealer that I talked to on the eastside. The best part was they were able to install it that day, so I pulled the trigger and I've been throwing down mad bumps ever since. Install was super clean, Rudi even let me take a peak at the amp tray install before he put the seat back in and I was impressed with the clean install. Needing to replace my AM/FM/CD I called and spoke to Jay last Friday. He was VERY helpful and spent time answering questions on the phone. So I drove over and told him that I have an Alpine in my other car and am happy with it, so to look at those. My current deck was an OEM and the FM reception would fade when out of town, so Jay recommend going with the Pioneer instead, as it's receiver was very good. So I chose one with all the features I need, including Bluetooth, and was told it would be an hour. So while at Ivar's next door, twenty minutes later I get the call "It's done"!!! The unit was perfectly installed, the mic where I wanted it, the balance and fade set to the driver's seat and the clock set! these guys are TOTALLY into car stereo and have a huge selection. The installer was professional and capable. In the course of two days my partner and I purchased a Deck and speakers for around $1200 total. On the first day there was a mistake installing the deck and backup camera which resulted in the trunk sensor being disconnected. I returned the next day to get that issue fixed and picked up the speakers and had them installed as well. The installer fixed the trunk and got the speakers working beautifully. read more

I was a repeat customer. I've been here twice before. I didn't hesitate in having Stereo Warehouse install a security alarm and stereo system in my week-old brand new car that had no flaws or damage due to working with them before. When I arrived with my boyfriend to pick up our car, the installer told us that he installed an actuator in the driver's side door and didn't bother attempting to install the stereo. During the time our car was in the hands of these professionals, the installer managed to scratch the driver's side window and door handle on the interior, and damaged the dashboard due to his laziness and negligence. When this was brought to the attention of the owner, he offered a referral to a man that could merely repair the damage his employee caused on the dashboard. The owner did not take ownership of the damage to the window and door handle - stating that he saw no reason why his installer would have caused it - despite the fact that the installer told us he had to place an actuator in the door! I called the owner a couple of days later, attempting to discuss the incident and give him the opportunity to make things right. The owner had no interest in speaking to me. He told me to refer to the paperwork that was signed upon leaving the vehicle with them to install the alarm system and stereo. I advised him such a clause does not allow him or his employees to intentionally damage vehicles without repercussion. He asked if I had spoken to the man to whom he referred me regarding repair of the dashboard; when I advised I did not trust his judgment, he said, "Well, I'm sorry to say that you can take it or sue me!" before unceremoniously hanging up on me. I will never go back to this place, nor can I ever recommend anyone else go there because they don't seem to care about customers, only money. read more
