First off, let me start off by saying that I've been going to Stereo Warehouse since it's old location on 150th and Aurora. I've NEVER had a problem with these guys. They're honest, informed on their products, and pleasant to work with. Every single one of my trucks/SUV's had been touched by the folks at this place. From single din decks to roof mounted fold down tv screens/entertainment systems. My most recent experience with these guys was when someone stole my subs out of my 2002 Tahoe (which Stereo Warehouse installed originally), got caught in the act and try to drive away with them but didn't close the tailgate to their getaway truck. My Subs fell out and hit the ground really hard. The next day I took a look at the damage, they tried to unhook all my amps and wires were disconnected everywhere. It was a mess! I took them up to Stereo Warehouse and told them what happened and asked if they could take a look at the boxes to see if there was any severe damage and to reconnect the wires and do a few sound checks... They took me in right away, fixed the issues (small crack in one of the boxes that they sealed off) and re-installed my boxes and hooked my amps up again. They didn't ask for any money, but I insisted that they take something and the guys said $20 bucks will be fine. I had no problem with that considering they had my truck there for a few hours. Some of these reviews are pretty silly. I'm not sure if people are truly aware of the standards these guys set on the rest of the market. They've always exceeded mine, that's for sure. read more

I was pretty worried going to an audio store because I don't know much about it. But my wife read tons of reviews and was buying me a stereo for my birthday. The reviews said this place was good, and they were right. The salesmen didn't really seem like salesmen. They were more like guides, and weren't pushy. Before showing me what they offered, they got a good sense of what I was looking for. This really set me at ease because although I didn't want to spend a fortune, I didn't want to buy something I'd regret having bought later and have to upgrade. I can honestly say that I couldn't be any happier with this purchase. The stereo is phenomenal, the service was great, and I highly recommend Stereo Warehouse to anyone looking for car audio. read more

I lost my faceplate awhile back and I'm starting to get road rage and the remedy is music, so I bought a new stereo today. The salesmen weren't pushy and were actually very helpful. The installer was very friendly and the work was done pretty quickly. The ONLY reason this place didn't get 5 stars is because $80 for a stereo installation is a bit steep. I would have done it myself but it's been about 8 years since I've worked on car electronics so I opted to have them install it. I was thinking about $50, not $70 for the installation. read more

I bought a Clarion stereo deck a couple months ago and within a month the sound started to go out in it... even though I couldn't find the receipt and it was past the store's return time, they called Clarion and allowed me to just bring it back for a store exchange! I walked out of the store today with a Pioneer (I think they stopped carrying Clarion decks) that is so nice and the same price I paid for the Clarion!! Ask for Dutton... I think he's the owner and he was able to make the exception for us :) Thank you! Also, my boyfriend does stereo installs and he's always found the best prices here! read more

Got a new radio installed here and am extremely pleased with my experience. These guys really know car audio and they have an extremely wide selection, expert service, and fair pricing. Dutton really likes to talk shop, and it's clear there is a pride in craftmanship in the work they do. Stereo Warehouse is everything I look for in a small business, and they receive a hearty endorsement from me. read more

I drove there on a weekend. It was closed. On a Monday, when I'm busy or not likely in town, they're open from 9 to 6. On the weekend they're open from 10 to 5. How about opening on some hours when people aren't, you know, too busy working to come get stereo stuff. To boot, their website doesn't even show their hours. What kind of idiot makes a website for a single location business and doesn't include that. I talked to them about it today and got the generic oh yeah sorry we'll look at that. I see why the place gets such mediocre reviews. read more

I wanted to come back here to say that I was contacted by Dutton from this business, in regards to making things right in terms of the big problem we had originally. Dutton was truly professional. He offered immediately to return our money spent on the stereo. He apologized, and wished he had heard about the issue sooner. With this follow up service, I just want to let people know that the place really is a nice place to shop for a car stereo, and you can feel safe that they will stand by their work. (Dutton, I am just trying to get my wife to follow through with ordering the factory deck, so she can get in there to square it up with you) Thanks man! read more

Came here for a alarm in my truck. the guys seem nice enough.

My review is a little different from everyone's because I already have all the car stereo gear I could ever want. However, I did have a sporadic problem with one of the door speakers, and their diagnostic rate was reasonable. They pulled the door panel off and it turns out the crossover wiring was a little mucked up (different company that installed it originally). They put some new connectors on (properly!) and off I went (for only the diagnostic rate). I don't know anything about their sales methods or upselling, but they were great with the diagnostic work for a great rate and I was happy. read more

These guys are local and have great competitive prices. Friendly funny staff, and when I brought my car in because I thought the speakers had blown instead of selling me something I didn't need they honestly told me it was an easy wire fix and did it as well as mounted the speaker so t wouldn't happen again for the already agreed upon base price of $25 to diagnose the problem. Definitely coming back for the remote start when I'm ready to upgrade my car. read more

Fast, friendly service this morning from the staff at Stereo Warehouse! Their prices are excellent, and they provided me with good information on my options for replacing my Corolla's speakers. Their installation work was efficient, and got the job completed in the time promised. Very satisfied with my new speakers! read more

I liked this store, because the salesman had a no nonsense approach. I told them what I needed, they showed me the options, and we got it done for 150 dollars cheaper then all the shops in my area. Straight forward. read more

Manny is the man! I had gone somewhere else and they had hooked up my sub wrong causing it to blow. I had an amp that wasn't meant for the kind of wattage needed, and took shortcuts using low grade wiring which was incorrect. He corrected all this and recommended a system which meshed well. I also appreciated that he didn't try to up sell to me showing me multiple options, answering my questions and telling me why he recommended the ones he did (not the most expensive). It was refreshing to see this kind of attitude. I Would definitely recommend this place to a friend. Another positive is that there was a separate waiting room with two comfy couches,TV, WiFi, and pop machine. read more

These guys were solid. They allowed me to browse before they asked if I needed assistance. I told them what I needed (a birthday present for someone special), and I was pretty specific. I needed a stereo that will play an iPod via Bluetooth or USB. They mentioned that I was looking at the perfect model, but suggested 2 others. When I asked the salesperson which one he recommended, he picked the model that I was eyeing. They offered the stereo that was similarly priced on Amazon, but after reading other reviews, I wanted to buy from a local store over Amazon, Best Buy & even Car Toys. They were able to install the stereo right away. They said 45 minutes, but it took them around 35 minutes. The birthday boy was pleasantly surprised with his gift. I am very satisfied with Stereo Warehouse and would recommend them to anyone in Seattle. read more

Update to my previous post review. To the owners credit, not only did they refund my entire install, they also paid the bill from Car Toy's. While their install bay is completly screwed up, at least the owner has integrity. it wont change my decision to not go back, but it does change the view I have of the place. A place with an owner like that deserves staff that reflects the same level of customer service. read more

Bought a sub from the business for 380$, not even 24 hours later the thing breaks. I go back the next day & get "sorry no returns". Owner was extremely rude & blamed the issue on me. Don't come here, save your money & buy online. read more

So, like many North westerners I've of course seen the commercials on TV for years and live not far from Stereo Warehouse, but seeing as I hadn't really had a need for car stereo equipment I didn't really have a reason to stop by this place.....until recently! Long story short, my factory deck finally stopped working after several years, and I thought I'd have a real hassle on my hands. I stopped into Stereo Warehouse and was immediately met by the familiar face of the owner, who right from the get-go was colorful yet very friendly, but more importantly was up front in telling me my options and very informative about all of the decks. I never felt any pressure to buy any one item, so selecting the deck I wanted was easy! The topper, the prices were great and, with installation, I was in and out of there in the span of one hour! Great staff, top of the line products, and the added satisfaction of shopping at a longtime LOCAL business!! I'd go back anytime, and recommend Stereo Warehouse to anyone! read more

Had a nav head unit and speaker package installed here. Customer service is a big deal to me, and when I wasn't completely satisfied with the equipment I had selected, Dutton (the owner) took care of it and I now love my system. 5 stars for their commitment to customer satisfaction! As an aside, if you have an Android phone and want a head unit that works well with it, look no further than the android-based parrot asteroid line. I hadn't even heard of them until Dutton introduced it to me. read more

My experience at SW was great. They went out of their way to figure out a way to replace the deck in my new car (I wanted Apple CarPlay, and my car was too new to have the parts; they improvised). The place is a little intimidating for me, a "mature" woman. From the outside it looks a bit ghetto, and inside it's full of huge speakers and looong rows of other audio stuff. However, the staff is friendly and helpful. Especially the owner, Dutton. And the installer, Luis, was helpful and courteous and didn't make me feel like the audio newbie that I am. I know that if I have questions, I'll feel welcome going back for help. Their price ended up being about $100 less than the quote I got from Car Toys. And they have a really sweet dog, Baxter, who hangs out inside the front door. read more

I don't usually write Yelp reviews, but I think these guys deserve it: I found the dudes there very professional and VERY helpful. Dude even was explaining to me how great a stereo was that costs LESS than the one i was looking at !! So, he's not up-selling you something you don't want. The guy in the back installed my car stereo right there and then, took about as long as he said it would, totally reasonable, and it works perfectly. I went in there the next day with some other questions and the guys all took their time answering my stupid questions. Oh, and they had more car stereos and better displays than the other guys. All in all, avoid the Big-Box chains and the Toy-stores, go with a locally owned smalltime operation. They are awesome. Good prices. read more

Was afraid to be a young woman alone here. Came in to buy the most inexpensive/ basic car stereo ($90) to replace the one in my old car. I was speaking to the man at the desk about the price, and he quoted me $50 in labor. At that moment, the man who would be installing the stereo walked over to us, did the unbelievably cliche body scan with his eyes from my feet up to my head, and without blinking said, "nah, $70". He assessed my appearance and decided he could get an extra $20 out of me. Feeling incredibly unsafe and fearful of being alone there, I decided I would rather pay the extra $20 and leave immediately than put myself at risk by arguing in an unsafe setting. The employee had my car for exactly 12 minutes for the installation, and I left being utterly ripped off on labor ($50 was still way too much) and fearing for my safety. Would not recommend to anyone I care about. read more

Huge selection and very knowledgeable staff, super friendly and fun to talk to, they also have a decent quiet waiting room while installation is happening. read more

Beware! Do not bring your new car here! Brought my 2015 Nissan 370 Z to this shop for a new stereo. Whatever they did caused my air bag light to come on and they couldn't get it to turn off, told me I had to take it to a dealer. The dealer is now needing several hours ($500+) to figure out what the issue is and Stereo Warehouse refuses to take responsibility for the repair costs. After they realized the light was on, two techs discussed how this happens sometimes when they unplug something they shouldn't. If they'd warned me in advance that this was even a remote possibility I never would have let them touch my car. Now I will be stuck with a huge repair bill for the damages done by this shady shop. read more

Just got my Pathfinder back from these guys and I can't say enough good things! First off Luis did an absolutely fantastic job on installing my 4 channel amp, 4 new speakers and a mono amp with a sub. Everything came out clean as can be, the wiring, mounting and tuning of the amps. Sounds 3x better than I imagined. Came on an extremely busy day first thing in the morning and they assured me that they would do everything they could to get to the install and Luis the installer actually stayed late (after closing) just to finish it up so I could have my rig back the same day. Thank you! Awesome prices for installs and Luis went above and beyond and even tuned up my stereo to sound incredible. A+ for stereo warehouse. Earned a lifetime customer read more

This place is horrible!!!! I payed them $1500 to install a system in my truck...when I took my truck in it worked fine... When they were done it was shooting wiper fluid everywhere and my wipers were running non stop. They couldent figure out why...so they reccomended I go to an auto electrician that they use...they told me my wiper motor had shorted out...when that happened STEREO WAREHOUSE refused to pay for it saying that it wasent there fault. Its funny that it happened at the exact time thay installed the stereo...hmmmm. BE WARE read more

This is the best place for stereo equipment and installation. They were able to do the installation in the same day. The knowledgeable staff were great and helped narrow down the options that would work for my car. I didn't feel like they were trying to rip me off. Located on the east side of Aurora Avenue just north of a Motel. And south of a small car dealership.. And just a few blocks south of the Shoreline/Seattle border. It comprises of about 4 buildings. And is generally easy to find. I found the staff and technicians a very helpful and friendly bunch. They looked over the vehicle, and when an economical suggestion was needed for a particular device they gave some good selections. A number of them are SciFi fans so conversations of Battle Star Galactica will be welcomed. As well as other tv/cable shows. The shop is well equipped with a variety of nice things for vehicles, not just stereo equipment but video displays of various sizes as well. From what I saw it looked like they had 2 workshop/garages. One in the back east of the main shop building and the other building just south of it. They also have a decent sized waiting room/lounge building just east / behind their southern workshop. TV is a small 19 incher but it has decent cable. You'll have to manually change the channel though. There is a restroom and at least a soda vending machine in this waiting/lounge building. If you do not want to wait in the lounge building about half a mile to a mile south you'll find a selection of shops like Office Depot, K-Mart, KFC and a PetSmart. And if you need a new Social Security card the Social Security Administration has an office in that area as well. Also if you're looking to tint your vehicle's windows there is an tinting business just east of them / behind Stereo Warehouse. Sadly I forgot the name but the workers of Stereo Warehouse said they were pretty good and thought well of them. read more

These guys were awesome. I was recommended by a friend to go here, and the service was great. 250 is what I paid for my new deck and the install. They removed my 6 disc changer, installed the new one and set up my hands free calling. It only took about 45 minutes, and I was out the door. Couldn't be happier. read more

Came in and got a quote from an employee for a new head unit. Was told they were really busy and couldn't do it till next week. Come in a week later for my appointment and the guy who helped me originally wasn't here but the owner was. He ran up a new quote that was suddenly $300 more. He insisted the guy didn't include a steering wheel adapter which I'm 100% sure he did as that was something we discussed and then I watched him add it in to the price using the old fashioned calculator. The owner was basically screaming at me saying they couldn't do it for the original price so I left. The owner is the worst part about this business, everyone else I dealt with was nice... the owner is super rude as is evident from many previous reviews. After I left I gave them a bad review on another review site which led to them calling multiple times saying the would honor the original price. By that point there is no way I would have wanted them to touch my car. If you want good service head right up the street to car toys who had awesome customer service and can help you right away. read more

I brought in an avh-4201nex and momento m5 to be installed and was very happy with the end result. I did a bit of research and stereo warehouse is one of the few places that doesn't charge more for equipment purchased from the internet. I highly recommend them. read more

My husband had purchased a bunch of equipment while he was deployed and intended to be home sooner and handle the installation himself, but as the military would have it is deployment lasted longer. I got a quote from the big chain, and I took it to Stereo warehouse to see what they had to say, right away they were knowledgeable and willing to install equipment I did not purchase through them. They quoted me half of what the big chain store did, so between that, the assurance they were knowledgeable and that they were an independent family owned store I decided to go with them. The install took significantly longer than I expected, but I was not in any rush and they kept running into issues with the equipment that my husband had purchased, Dutton the owner kept in constant contact with me, I think we talked every other day about status updates and asking what I wanted to do and how I wanted to proceed. The final price was $300 more than originally quoted, which was actually quite fair considering the extra time they had to spend on it and the extra equipment I had to buy from them. The shop cares about doing a good job and working with the customer read more

I can't begin to list all the flaws in the stereo install they did on my car. I purchased an all new 5 speaker system, 1 deck, 1 big amp, and a sub for my classic ride. Turns out they used all the original stereo wire, it's over 25 years old and I paid for their stereo install kit WTF! Stay away! read more

I have bought several different types of stereo/alarm equipment from these guys for my boat, two trucks and my Impala...and had everything installed by them. Al and Rudy have both worked on my vehicles and my boat and they do very clean work and I have found that they are very honest with regards to how long they think it is going to take. Obviously in reading other reviews sometimes things take longer than expected...but so is life. With regards to the pricing of equipment, I'm sure you can find some online shop that is less expensive, but I know their prices are VERY competitive and I would rather give my money to a smaller family owned shop vs. some big online retailer. I would 100% recommend the Stereo Warehouse and will be back again!! read more

I would of rated them 4 stars based off my previous experiences until today... I've gone to stereo warehouse to get a compustar alarm installed in the past they did a great job it was put in quick and it was done at a pretty decent price. However this last experience I had was terrible and I'm not too happy about it... I went to stereo warehouse to get some rear speakers installed since for 1. I didn't have any rear speakers in my car and I was tired of not having a decent amount of sound to listen to and 2. Because the prices were pretty good. I believe the guy that helped me yesterday was named Manny, anyways he showed me which route I should go speaker wise and I chose his recommendation and so far so good I'm happy with the speakers(so far it's only been 1 day) now this is where things went wrong...after the install and I got home I was pulling into my driveway when I notice my head unit of my stereo was moving quite a bit so once I pulled into my driveway I checked to see what was causing my head unit from moving so much...well the aftermarket mount for the head unit was broken, the right side was broke looked like it was snapped and I know for a fact it wasn't like that before I got the speakers put in that day. Well when I called stereo warehouse to see what can be done about this they told me i could bring my car in and they'd fix their mistake. So I was cool with that however when I brought my car into stereo warehouse today for them to fix their mistake I was told by Manny that I needed to speak to the owner of the store and that I needed to come back sometime during the weekdays before 3 pm...now I was confused and I wanted to ask him then why was I told to come in, I wouldn't have driven 45 miles just for them to tell me to come back during the week after they told me on the phone the previous day that I could bring in my car for them to fix their mistake. They could of told me that on the phone then I wouldn't have wasted time, gas to drive over 90 miles roundtrip all the way to North seattle and back. The mount should of been an easy 5-10 min fix and I'd even be willing to do it myself as long as they provided the mount. Not very happy about this, I just don't understand why the installer didn't fix his mistake I mean it was a pretty noticeable you can tell that nothing is flush on the Mount I just didn't notice until I got home but once I did notice regardless of what angle you look at it, it wasn't right and it was noticeable as hell. read more

I went here for a speaker install on my new car. Due to system integration I cannot replace the deck so I just chose to replace the speakers. The price for the install plus speakers ended up being $475 and took about 3 hours. I was in a rush when I grabbed the car due to a lunch appointment and didn't really have time to do a full inspection. Well come Sunday I decided to have a good listen to the speakers and run a sound sweep to see how they perform and it was awful. My base speakers sounded WAY better. Come Monday, I decided to go to cartoys (if only for the reason that they won't smoke near my car) and see if maybe throwing an amp in would help them sound better. They immediately could tell something was wrong. I paid them to take it apart and see what the problem was. Turns out the installer at Stereo Warehouse threw the crossovers IN THE TRASH. No one told me. "They made a popping sound when they were plugged in." WHY WOULD YOU NOT INVESTIGATE WHY THEY ARE POPPING!? So at this point, a simple speaker install it costing me nearly $850, 6 hours of my life plus the time I had to take off work to get this fixed . The only reason I am not leaving one star is because they refunded me $125 because of the installer being a dumbass. TLDR: installer threw important part of install in garbage. read more

I had a great experience here. They were more than helpful, and I really feel that I got a great price. I purchased an in dash nav system, a nice amp and two 10" subs they installed them in a custom box under the seats in the back of my f150. This was a few months ago and it is still working great. I went into this store to buy some new speakers. I'm always a fan of supporting local businesses over large corporations like Best Buy or Car Toys. After taking a look at their prices, I'll never go in there again. Their markups are through the roof! I can't believe how much they want for their merchandise. Case in point; a Dynamat kit selling for $70 at Best Buy costs $110 at this joint; are you kidding me!? If they can't beat a big-box store, what's the point? read more
