So I've been here one other time and had pretty good service. Today it was subpar. The drink (Mai Tai) was good and so were the yuca fries. I ordered a green mix salad with salmon. The menu doesn't clearly state that it's the $8 for the salad and an additional $13 for the salmon. Which is a bit pricey for green mix salad, croutons and cherry tomatoes. The menu should be updated to clearly reflect that its + $13 for the salmon. My friend ordered a classic cheeseburger, which she didn't eat because she stated that it tasted spoiled. I won't be returning or suggesting this spot to anyone else unless they just want to have the basics (fries and alcohol) or listen to the live band, when it happens. The server was extremely slow and non attentive. We waited longer for her to take our orders than we did to actually eat (or not, in my friend's case) the food that was served to us. read more

My daughter treated me to a lovely brunch of eggs over salmon with homefries. Food was great. Brunch menu comes with a free Mimosa or Bellini. Our waiter named Joe was great. When I walked in it I was sure what to expect, my girlfriend had been here before, so she didnt know if I was gonna like the food. The server we had was dope his name was Joe the mimosas got me started. I found step in on yelp so I knew I wanted the catfish and cheese jalapeno grits. My girl had a chicken club with home fries. BOY did the food exceed wat I was thinking. The catfish was cooked perfectly and the grits besides the fact I couldve use another spoonful of grits. Wow! This place really is a gem. I was strolling with my fiancé in Parkchester and we ran into Step In. We sure did! :) This place isn't what I will call a lounge but it is a beautiful restaurant. The decor and seating is very beautiful and gives off wonderful vibes here. The music is wonderful. And the food is DELICIOUS!!! We order the Garlic Parmesan wings for an appetizer. Cooked to perfection. Crispy and delightful! For main courses my lady had the Castro and I had the New Orleans chicken sandwich. Fresh, hot and SLAMIN'!! Nothing was a disappointment. I even indulge in one of their drinks. Kentucky Orchard!! So delicious and not cheap on the liquor at all!! I will be returning here and spreading the word about this place. Went there this afternoon with my Sister for food & drinks. I must say in the 40'years that I have been going to this establishment whether it is years apart I have never been disappointed. This is like my boyfriend and I's favorite spot to go to after a long day of work or just a close quick bite to where we live. Everything we've tried so far is delicious and so are the drinks, especially those fish bowls! The service is OK, we always get the same man every time we come. At first, he was a little rushy and somewhat rude, but each time we come, he warms up to us more and more. They usually have good music playing, however the music is just too damn loud. Asked for light rice as I'm not a fan of rice in soup and the kitchen took the note properly. Only a few pieces of rice in the soup. Came with lemon pepper crisps on the side. Heavenly for a hangover or a cold winter day. The wrap didn't fail to amaze either. Well seasoned with shoe string fries. I came here late on a Saturday night with one of my friends , probably around 11:30pm. There was a DJ blasting the latest hip hop/r&b/reggae tunes. In fact, the music so loud that we could not even hear each other. Most of the patrons were in their mid to upper forties. So, everyone was pretty mature and genuinely there to have a good time. We were escorted to our table n immediately greeted by our waitor. He had no issue explaining certain dishes and answering questions. I ordered cocunut shrimp and waffle fries. I also ordered a Mai Tai. The food was good and filling. The drink was strong, but it tasted really good. The prices were reasonable as well, I don't remember exactly but I felt that the price was worth it. The service was fast and the waitor was very attentive. Only complaint I have is that the music was blasting. I literally had to yell in the waitor's ear to place my order. Well this place was a great disappointment. I was tricked by their 2 drink brunch special. I had the red velvet Belgian waffles with fried chicken strips. The waffles were barely red and the batter had no flavor (they were not sweet at all). It came with one half of a strawberry( I guess meant for presentation) and a bit of cream cheese sauce (could have been more of that). The waffle was also over cooked. The chicken itself was just barely cooked. The outside had a few burn marks but, the inside had that strange, almost raw, kind of texture. On top of it all, there wasn't a pinch of salt on that chicken. Very bland. So, all-in-all I paid $16 for two mimosas. Shame. The server was quick and friendly, so I left him a good tip. read more

I've lived in the neighborhood my whole life and never came into this place because it looks like a run down hole in the wall from the outside. Tried it out for the first time two weeks ago and i've been back 3 times already. For the neighborhood, the food and drinks are on the much pricier side but sooo worth it. The truffle mac and cheese is delicious, I get it every time. I've had the Bronx Bomber burger and the catfish and both were incredible. The drinks are strong and the female bartender who works nights is such a sweetheart. I love that this place closes late, as there are so few nice restaurants that do in this neighborhood. All in all, this place is a hit or miss on service and takeout but if you dine in, you won't be disappointed with your meal. I haven't come in on a weekend night yet but I will soon! The food is mediocre at best. I got the corn beef hash with scrambled eggs and potatoes and sliced bread. While the prices are pretty cheap here, there is much to be desired for the quality of the food. I had to douse my plate with salt and pepper, as there was no seasoning whatsoever. Very bland. Food also took nearly 20 minutes to come, and everyone's plates (party of 7) came at different times so we had to awkwardly wait for everyone to get their plates before digging in. Although our waitress was nice, she also came to our table three times to make sure she got our orders right. If you can't remember, then you should always take notes to be on the safe side! I have tried lots of things on their menu and I am always happy . The french onion soup is great. Their salads are fresh and abundant. The burgers are all big and juicy. They make a steak and tostones that rivals all the dominican joints I have ever been to and the owners are greek! My husband has been going to this restaurant since it was at its previous location so he is very much a regular(Norm!) but the service is sooo friendly that the place seems to have a real following.The prices are okay...maybe a little pricey for Parkchester, but you get what you pay for.It doesn't get more stars because it has a bar section that gets pretty loud sometimes and takes away from the dining experience.But if you're in the neighborhood,definitely check it out. read more

I love this place. The prices are a little high but the food is always delicious and portions are big enough for leftovers usually. The drinks are always yummy and hard. It's a good romantic date place as well. Me and my wife always go here for the amazing wings mango habanero so spicy and sweet and juicy and crunchy. The people who usually attend this place are in their 40s or late 30s which me and my wife love. We like to be around an older crowd. The music here is always on point oldies and old school rap and R&B. They also take all major credit cards and cash which I have to include because some places in the Bronx seem to only be taking cash lately or only one type of credit card.
