Step in is a long time local spot that I've never really visited until recently. I typically order food for my grandmother but I dropped by while running errands to pick up instead. Danny the bartender made a really good lychee martini! I also ordered a shrimp cocktail while waiting for the to go order it wasn't that good (no flavor). I ordered the shrimp & salmon combo and the steak and shrimp combo to go. The steak was too lean (strip steak) no fat content so not really as enjoyable. The shrimp was broiled and had a char to them, not too bad. Food was just okay overall but the lychee Martini was awesome. I would come back for drinks. I came back a second time for the lychee martini lol and I ordered the shrimp/salmon combo with garlic mash and broccoli. Now that was tasty and on Saturdays they have a Dj at night! The waiter was friendly and welcoming. He made us feel at home. He helped with the food choice. So many options! They have a brunch special that comes with a small Carafe of Bellini or Mimosa. Decided to come here for some after work drinks on a whim. Step In is located just steps from the Parkchester 6 train station. Happy Hour ends at 7 but you'll still find a lively crowd. Had a seat at the bar and ordered some wings and a drink. Scoping how the bartender pours is usually my clue whether I'm gonna stay or not. Judging by how he poured that Henny cocktail let me know I was in the right place. Happy Hour prices are more than reasonable so get here between 3 and 7pm for sure. The BBQ were fried hard, seasoned and had plenty of sauce like I like. Step In is just a good neighborhood bar period. One of my favorite things are my favorite wings the garlic Parm (the best on the planet) but you can get them dipped in whatever. They offer plenty of drink & food specials. They also offer a fishbowl for $30. Beware of the waitresses disappearing for long periods of time. There's been times where I had to put in two drink orders because the wait was extremely long. Some drinks range from weak to strong depending which bartender makes it. Step In serves delicious Honey BBQ Wings & they make a mean Shrimp Quesadilla. Do not order the Nachos it wasn't anything to write home about. Social distance at it's best, Other restaurants should take should follow in their footsteps. We were seated at a booth and promptly greeted by THE BEST WAITER EVER JOE! I absolutely loved his energy, he knew the menu and offered suggestions. We started with Long Islands made perfectly. I'm in here for brunch at least once a month. The mimosas will have you "lit" if you let them. The stuffed french toast is my all time fave, with the berry sauce of sorts. The menu is too all over the place for any chef to really concentrate on everything so something gets lost in the execution. Step-ins is notorious for their long wait times for their food, but today took the cake. We walk in at 4:05pm ordered our food at 4:15pm. I ordered a drink and that came at 4:45pm. So while we are waiting there was a loud family who was causing people to leave. The manager come to tell them to be lower it down they didn't listen so myself and 3 others families left. So due to the restaurants loyalty to a regular they lost about 5 tables since 2 families outside walking saw the commotion and left. Oh I fogot to mention the food finally was ready by 528pm. 1hr 15 mins later. It wasn't the waiors fault so I still paid, but the kitchen time was terrible. The drink wait time was terrible and the "regulars" who caused about 5 tables to leave were terrible. I doubt I will be returning here anytime soon read more

The staff here are lovely. I have, over many years, laughed at the bartender's silly jokes, enjoyed the cheese grits at Saturday brunch, and had my last birthday celebration there. It is comfortable, unpretentious, and the portions are substantial. The only improvement that could be made is a vegetarian protein offering like maybe a Veggie brat or burger?
