A blue diamond in the rough! We found this eatery while in Old Town Temecula. My wife and I split a large plate with tri-tip, pulled pork, potato salad, and coleslaw. We drove in from San Diego, just to get away from work and home. Hung around old town and saw this cute spot. The sign read "seat yourself" but we were quickly greeted by the sweet and beautiful Hope. She waited for us to sit, handed us menus and proceeded to be the friendliest and most helpful she could be. Her recommendations were all 100% delicious. She checked on us at the right time and even chatted awhile with us. The owner also asked us how we were and how everything was. He's really cool and owns the car shop next door with all the cool older vehicles. Food: the pork belly tots were AMAZING!!!! They are a must. The loaded flatbread was really delicious and flavorful. The cheese was yummy and the toppings were perfectly proportioned. The tropical ale was fruit packed and refreshing. A must visit! Great service, great food and really cool spot. Came here on a Thursday, around lunch. Trendy spot with outdoor seating--true to the garage feel. Drinks were okay-- a little on the light side for me, but good nonetheless. Where do I begin? Our first experience here and we were so excited not knowing we are going to be let down. No parking anywhere around the building so be prepared to spend $25 in park a couple blocks away from this place. Make sure to call ahead and make sure they actually have what's on their menu because they were out of a lot of items. Who runs out of ribs at a barbecue house on a Saturday afternoon? Beans were from a can pretty sure they were bushes baked beans The mac & cheese looked so promising as it came in a little cast-iron skillet, but was absolutely destroyed with a huge amount of salt poured into it. My girlfriend couldn't even take another bite after her first because her face said everything I needed to know that I wasn't wrong about the saltiness. When we were greeted by the waitress, there was a very open concept when you came in, and she began some small talk and set us down. She failed to mention anything about the restaurant and its history. She did not mention anything about the games arcades or amenities at the restaurant. She also did not help us go over the menu or any special items for the day. Also, she failed to mention that they were out of ribs until I was ready to place my order, and the main reason I came to barbecue house. We were the only ones in the restaurant at 5 o'clock in the afternoon on a Saturday and she was more entertained with the guys working there then worrying about if we need drinks or accommodating us. $25 for parking $85 for barbecue experience to teach me to never come back here again thanks for the wasted money but lesson learned. The best restaurants know that the secret to success is providing exceptional service and settling for no less than 100% customer satisfaction. Our experience at 4th Street Garage indicates its owner, Mark, was born with this knowledge. His congeniality is sincere, warm and friendly, but more importantly he showed us his willingness to rise to the occasion when necessary. Quick story to follow, but... First: Their food is on point, but be prepared to wait a little; you can't be in a rush when you come here but nor should you be. We had the wings (excellent and meaty!) and their rib meat sandwich, made from the same rib eye steak entree they offer; well trimmed of fat and delicious. The night air was cold but ample heaters kept it pleasantly warm. And the musical entertainment was very talented, playing to much applause from the appreciative patrons. My wife and I stopped in to get a quick bite before my band loaded in for a show at a venue close by. We had to get our order to go as we were running late, and so my wife stayed behind waiting for our food while I went ahead. There is no sidewalk at the entrance and the ground is uneven; unfortunately my wife after leaving tripped and took a bad spill damaging her knee and spilling the fresh food onto the ground in the process. Apparently, the City of Temecula has plans to address this but as yet none have been implemented. Mark saw what happened and rushed to her aid. He valiantly helped her up, escorted her down the short walk to the music venue, and then returned shortly afterward with a replacement order. This was a level of service we did not expect, but my wife - a cancer patient who also suffers from arthritis - so deserved. We will be telling all our friends and returning soon and often. Thank you, Mark, for knowing and showing what it means to run a quality establishment in our beloved T-Town. read more

Not a great experience for our group. The food was mediocre and took way too long to arrive. The owner was very nice, but the overall experience was not worth a return. Our waitress told us, "I tried to warn you." when it took over an hour to get any of our food.
