December 2025 purchased a kid's meal from drive through at Noblesville's Steak and Shake. Person operating intercoms was cheerful and easily understood. My order was recorded quickly and accurately. I upgraded the drink with a child size classic strawberry milk shake which was just the right size. Ordered my burger with everything but cheese. It came home correctly made and packaged. This store has had its ups and downs and appears to be under new management. These folks are working hard to regain business and very much deserve it. Steak and Shake's Noblesville is actually a great place and my family and I always feel like it's a best kept secret because I never hear people talking about Steak and Shake around here. This location has a great crew - very friendly - they always get our orders right - tonight they even asked us if we needed any help with the ordering kiosks. The food actually looks as good as the menu pictures (few other burger joints can say that in this world), and the food is just really decent and a great value! I hope the crew here keep it up in that management keeps this place going because it's a really good burger restaurant. read more

Process the food as ordered! Ordered chili 5-way and ordered extra sauce, but didn't get it. Took it back and let them know there was very little sauce. Seemed like no one was interested in helping me as no one acknowledged me. Finally after getting there attention the young man actually argued with me telling me there was plenty of sauce on my Chili and that the extra sauce was on the bottom, but it wasn't! Spent $26.45. I Put some ketchup in it and tried to eat it Not sure why Noblesville has such a hard time with fast food. With the exception of Culver's and Chick-Fil-a everyone has trouble with service. I was impressed. I haven't been to a Steak n Shake since they went downhill around 2018. After seeing the advertisements for the beef tallow fries, I decided to give them a try again. I agree with others' comments that S&S is not what it used to be. Everyone should know that going in and adjust their expectations. For us this location has done very well for several carry out orders in recent weeks, in terms of getting the orders right and the food was prepared well. So the 4 stars are mostly for their service, not the food quality. Their shakes are still pretty decent. read more

So we have been to this location twice this week including today, just an hour or so ago actually. We hadn't been since the pandemic so we were shocked with the changes they have made. Everyone always thinks of Steak N Shake as a 24 hour establishment but that is no longer the case. This location closes at midnight. They no longer have servers so you place your order at a kiosk and then pick it up when they call your name and number. You make your own drinks and get your own refills. I think this is a wonderful improvement and I love it the way they are doing things now. The food both times were hot and fresh. You won't get a hot burger at any of the other fast food joints. They also now have some really good onion rings. There are a couple things I didn't really like one was it asks for a tip when you checkout and I struggle with that because you don't tip at other fast food places. The other thing is they charge for dipping sauce 40 cents each. I do understand they cost money but I think that's a little excessive. What I really loved today was how welcoming and friendly the manager on duty was. He talked to everyone who came in the door and called them by name if he knew it and even hugged a few regulars who came in. That was so refreshing to see because you don't see managers doing that anymore and it seems they take customers for granted. With so many places to eat it's staff and managers like this one that will keep you coming back. He talked with us for maybe 20 minutes and I commended him on how well he ran the store. I wish I had gotten his name. He was a tall red haired man and did just a wonderful job. I've always loved Steak 'n Shake even if they did discontinue my straw nana side by side shake. read more

Thought I would give them another chance to make up for the last disastrous visit. But... once again this place was a madhouse with servers running all around. The restaurant itself looked filthy with food and food containers piled up on the floor. I ordered a dinner salad and I was told they were out of silverware....who runs out of silverware??!!?? So daughter wanted a hot dog before we went to the store so husband and I begrudgingly parked and came in. Over the years this location and the food quality had gone down hill. We actually had stopped coming if we could avoid it. Well we have decided to put it back on the list of places we would be happy to eat. I hope they keep it up. For starters the place was clean. We were greeted and asked if we had been in since they remolded. We said no and they explained that there was no longer wait staff. We were pointed to the kiosk and the drink filling station was pointed out and we were told they would call our number when our food was ready. The kiosk was super easy and efficient. Also, now that you pay when you order, they will no longer loose money on people walking out without paying. Food came up quickly and it was the best burger and fries we have had from this place. Slow, disorganized, ran out of ice. How do you run out of ice? So my drink was room temp. Foe tge number of people I see walking around with uniforms on, it doesn't make sense for everything to be so slow - seating, ordering, getting food - they really need a dedicated busser. There will be 5-6 empty tables and several groups of people waiting to be seated. I come here once in awhile because my kids like to eat here, but I'll probably drive a little out if my way to the Carmel location. This one is awful. Got my food - taco salad with grilled chicken. . Our party of 5-6-7 meets occasionally for breakfast and coffee. Despite my reservations, the group chose this local place. So there's 5 of us this round. Our coffees come first,we all chuckle they could have given us clean cups w/o cracks. Only to shortly discover that our mugs are disgusting! You can't tell when full of coffee. (see pic) Service beyond slow today. Biscuits were delish as were gravy - but eggs way overcooked & apparently on dirty flat top. On leaving, one buddy asks if I've looked at the floor. Update 4/12/19. Corporate sent us a $10 gift card due to our poor experience previously. Tonight we gave it another try. We were seated immediately. Our drink order was taken as soon as we sat down. Then shortly after our dinner order was taken and it arrived promptly. The woman server, JJ, provided great service. Last time we gave it a 1 Star. I would give today a 5 Star. So I will average at 3 and try again. Nice to see the improvement! Just terrible service. Stopped in after a movie at 9:30 pm to grab a shake and fries. Waited 10 minutes to be seated and were never acknowledged by a single employee. So we decided to then sit up at the counter. Then an employee running the register looked over and said it would be 15-20 minutes even before they could get to us. This is a Friday night. The place is half full at best. So sad as we have loved Steak n Shake over the years but the last year it has gone down hill. Terrible service no matter which one we go read more

I've been going here since I was a child, and throughout the years the place has become more and more disgusting. The wait is way too long (I've seen some people even walk out before they get their food) and the food seems to be rotten. This is the third time I've gotten food poisoning from this restaurant, getting different meals every time. It's safe to say I'm not coming back willingly. The service at your SR 37 noblesville restaurant on 11/24 between 6 and 6:30 was awful. The staff strolled from table to table barely waiting on those they bothered to sit. While they allowed many to continue to wait with multiple tables open. After rudely being seated, my family waited another 15 minutes. We had to ask for our waitress and was then passively told by the assistant manager they would be with us shortly. The same manager then strolled around waiting on no one and helping none of the staff. The speaker in the drive-thru of this location does not work. I couldn't hear the person taking my order, and the person taking my order couldn't hear me ... like at all. And I wasn't whispering, either: I was shouting and leaning out of my window like a nutcase, screaming "I'D LIKE A NUMBER 10 WITH AN UNSWEETENED ICE TEA!" But the guy kept telling me he couldn't hear me. This ridiculous scene happened for a while -- me screaming out my window -- until I just drove away and went to Wendy's instead, which is right down the street. This couldn't have just been an issue specific to me -- I mean, this has to happen to everyone who drives up, right? So you'd think they'd do something about it -- like, I don't know, fix the drive-thru speaker. You can get a good cheeseburger and fries for $4 served to you with a smile at a clean table 24 hours/day. The chili/chili mac/chili 5 ways is always good. I tend to shy away from milkshakes these days but have always enjoyed their orange freeze shake. Cheese fries and a frisco melt (maybe a shake) may kill me one day, but it will be a great way to go! I'm sorry but when NO ONE is there aside from me, and all I order is two shakes then the least you can do is get the order correct. The Rude woman on the drive through mic seemed irritated that I was there and in a very annoyed tone told me that Steak 'n Shake no longer serves hot fudge. I thought "ok no big deal, that is the world we live in" so I asked for a chocolate cookie dough shake ( double extra cookie dough) and a birthday cake shake. Only I received two PLAIN vanilla shakes with just barely a little topping on the whipped cream. So I was charged extra and given less. This is basically theft! I would go back and complain but I don't want to be a Karen and I highly believe they would spit in to my replacement with their attitudes! That woman has no right to work with the public. Tried this steak and shake location after seeing on Facebook that there had been a change of management. Was completely unimpressed. Walked in and the place was not busy at all. Took about 5 minutes before anyone came up and seated us and the whole restaurant was dirty (crumbs on almost all tables, the booth they seated us in was dirty and had food on the booth seats as well). Restrooms were filthy. Stunk, paper towel everywhere, floor was wet . Waitress acted like she was in a hurry the entire time even though there was probably 4 other parties in the whole restaurant. Messed up drink order and never corrected it as she never came back( another server brought us our food) & never received our cheese or sauces. Big thumbs down read more

Tell me why every time I go to this Steak 'n Shake I receive god awful service? Tonight we waited 30 plus minutes in the drive thru! The food is fire but there's no reason for fast food to take this long especially when it's not busy. Plus last time I went through the drive thru here it took a year to get my food AND y'all forgot my cheese sauce! That's literally the best part. i used to work here but i kinda got treated like shit. they got addicts working in the back while the other managers don't work so the teens have to do it all and get blamed for it all. 2 of the managers just walk out during their shift and don't come back until an hour goes by. one of the mangers (the guy in all black) yells at minors, complains about everything single thing. he is always on his phone checking his facebook and other messages. yet he gets mad when other people are on their phones. they close the lobby early because they dont have any workers for night shift, they are supposed to be open until midnight but they close at like 10. when i was working there we lost 3 people, because they were getting treated like absolute shit. good pay but im kinda glad i got fired.‍ read more

Definitely wasn't my best experience with Steak'n Shake. I had just drove in from OH and was starving. My sister took me to the only local spot open that wasn't fast food. The service was slow and the cashier act as I was and everyone else in the building was bothering her. The cooks actually were funny and lighten the mood. My order took over 30min and I only ordered chicken tenders and they were not even packaged right. I had to return for sauce. The food was hot and to a hungry person it was all I needed. I won't be coming back but I enjoyed the meal. read more
