Grilled chicken, mac and cheese, and fries
    Kaitlyn C.

Decent experience, not the best! $20 for 3 and a half mimosas. The biscuits were good but dry. The grilled chicken was alright. The handful of fries I was given on the side was kind of disrespectful. Some of the cheese curds were empty grease balls with no cheese.

A good Cracker Barrel. The atmosphere is as you expect if you know Cracker Barrel restaurants. Old country store out front with all kinds of stuff and a whole lot of antiques and country decor in the restaurant. I got my order to go this time and it went very well. The people at the front counter were very friendly and had a short conversation with me as well as welcoming me to the restaurant while we waited for my food to be brought out. The food was good. Just down home cooking. I got the mamas French toast breakfast. It included French toast, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, and ham and my favorite, the hash brown casserole. It was all well cooked and seasoned and I enjoyed it, though the portions are getting a little smaller, as is true at most places. But the prices are still pretty good.

We always love the food at Cracker Barrel. There are also options for folks who have Celiac Disease. The ambiance is wonderful when it gets cooler ~ the fireplace makes it so homey. The service is usually fantastic ~ especially at this location. However, this trip was a little disappointing. We don't fuss because we understand that everyone has a down day from time to time. So, even though our service may not have, and what we consider up to par, it's just a reminder to be nice to everyone, especially those that are taking care of us. (This is the reason for the 4 star rate this time.)

"well done" New York Strip Steak
    Sunshine H.

We stopped coming in for a while because the quality of the food had dropped tremendously and the managers seemed to not even care. Tonight I splurged and ordered DoorDash because I can't get out. I ordered a well done New York Strip and received it almost rare. I contacted the manager on duty Jennifer and she insisted I had to contact DoorDash because they delivered it. I asked her why it was a DoorDash problem when I ordered through the Cracker Barrel App and Cracker Barrel cooked it. She rudely repeated call DoorDash or she can recook it and I can pick it up. I thought about it and called back and spoke to Jennifer again and she said she would remake the steak but my other food was fine so she wasn't replacing that. She did allow me to have my husband pick it up since I cannot get out. My husband called after picking up and said the manager was rude to him also and said she put the steak in the oven to hopefully get it well done. In the past couple months we have also received raw chicken in the restaurant and quietly informed the manager and had it remade. We stopped coming in for a while but recently started coming back to give them another try but this is probably it for us. We really enjoyed many of the servers and even have a few favorites but management has been a mess for a while. Sad because this used to be one of our favorites in town.

Found Aluminum Foil in my food only to be told by the manager that they don't know how it got there because they don't use aluminum foil

The fried chicken definitely doesn't taste like it used to. Batter is thick/dense, and peppery..tastes like it sat in old grease..

The young woman who came out told me she only came out because they weren't busy. I told her it wasn't an issue and I was fine ordering inside. Maybe this was obvious to everyone else but if the in-car ordering wasn't available they should remove it from the menu board. It seemed odd to have customers walk in to order then have food carried out to my car, which is what happened. The patio seating is enclosed so there is seating "indoors". I think that would've been a better option. I was excited about their sourcing from Tyner Pond but don't think they do this anymore. The fries definitely did not match any description I read and I definitely was not expecting a small bag of crinkle cut fries. These are not worth ordering for $3. I ordered a double burger but a single would've been fine-it was quite large. It was good, but I wish the onion was sliced thinner- it made the whole thing difficult to hold and was just a lot of onion. The root beer is Sprecher's on tap. Overall a disappointment. I don't know if they have a new meat supplier or what has happened but I get the steak salad every time because it's the perfect amount of food for me and I can get it without cheese and croutons. And I have no worries about my allergies. Plus it is normally yummy! And perfect. I have to remind them that I want the bacon though? One server said cheese was pre-mixed with the bacon and that's why they keep forgetting it? Anyway, the steak has been chewy to the point where I don't enjoy it. Gristly I actually sent the last one back. The one before that I just set half of the steak aside after I couldn't chew it. My husband thinks I need to ask for a different cut of steak because sirloin is notoriously inconsistent cuts of meat and I just need to pay an up charge for a filet or something. Anyway, I panicked about getting a bad steak salad again last week when I was there and I ordered a burger. Who can mess up a burger I thought, right? I forgot about the bun. I think they toasted it with butter so I took it off. I still got sick though. Blast it. Why can you tell a server you are Allergic to dairy and they don't understand that butter comes from a cow!!!! I'm telling you this is my girlfriend's favorite place to meet up for girl talk so go and enjoy yourself. The atmosphere is nice. Seats are comfortable and if you linger to visit the servers are wonderful to keep filling your drink glasses. But after three bad meals in a row and getting sick after eating that burger... I'm going to talk her into going elsewhere. At least when I'm her tagalong.

There is apparently no difference in service. My hubs ordered a glass of merlot and I ordered their lemon/blueberry martini. The merlot was nice but the martini was out of this world. My new fave drink! We started with the asparagus dip and again, the best we'd ever tried. We ordered their smothered chicken and an off menu pasta with sausage. Both were incredible. I wanted to try their pasta so I ordered a side of fettuccine in herbed butter. It too was lovely. The venue is in the basement of a former Carnegie Library. It's a little dark and has a speakeasy feel. We turned the lamp on our table to a brighter setting to see a bit better. Our server was Chris. He is very knowledgeable and gave us a lot of information about the food, business and building. The GM, Jeremy, gave us a tour of the upstairs portion of the building where they hold specialty events. Overall, we loved all of our evening and were able to have this experience right at $100 for both of us. We'll be back!

NY strip wrapped Asparagus was good but not something I'd get again ... kind of bland. My SO ordered Pork Parmesan over spaghetti but didn't like it as much as I liked the smothered chicken. It had great flavor and texture with mashed potatoes and green beans. With the new ownership, I was hoping for an upgrade in the dining area. We went on a weekday for a special occasion... my SO's birthday. They gave him a card which was a nice gesture but service was slow for a slow night. The room was freezing... the door opens and the cold rushes into the basement-like dining room. It's still too dark (couldn't see the menu without using our phone flashlight). The chairs are not comfortable. Overall it's too expensive for me and it'll be a long time before I go again. (We tend to drive to Fortville for dinner and are never disappointed with multiple restaurants to choose from. ) The reason I gave a 3 is because of the service, the room temperature and the fact that we only really enjoyed the chicken dish. They also might serve a piece of cake for a birthday if they wanted to impress me... lol.

I love the small town feel!! The restaurant vibe reflects the town. Everyone is very welcoming. I didn't catch bartenders name, but she was very friendly to everyone at her bar. She told us her favorites on the menu. I appreciated her knowledge about the restaurant and the menu. The bar area seemed a little dark, but that actually enhanced the experience of an old bar. We only sat in the bar area, I believe there is additional seating in another room, but I didn't look. I opted for a grilled tenderloin and a cup of beer cheddar jalapeño cheese soup. The sandwich's are Ala carte. The sandwich was bigger than I expected, that would have been enough for lunch. The trick with grilled tenderloin is that many times it is over cooked, so it is dry. This was cooked to perfection; cooked but still moist. The sandwich, with the "garden" was awesome. Now to the soup. I think she said they use wee Mac as the beer. The jalapeño was puréed. There was crispy bacon crumbled on top; I did not care for the bacon. The soup was odd to me as I was eating it. Because of the texture, it reminded me of corn chowder. There was a little spice/flavor from the jalapeño. What was odd to me, was it didn't wow me like I thought it would, but I kept eating it. So in the end, I think I really liked it bc I ate all of it!!! The menu is not large, but has a good variety for its size. The desserts were impressive, I just didn't have room for it.
