I don't know why I haven't tried Yats before now, but it's SO good. I had the drunken chicken and it was so good. Just enough heat, great flavors, and perfect consistency. We are in, though this is more fast casual, so you don't get served. The counter person was really friendly, though. All of the orders also came with bread. Major win.

The food is DELICIOUS. Service is fast. Inside is okay but the outdoor seating is nice. Got the 1/2 chili cheese etoufee and 1/2 b+b and it was delicious. Love that they give samples, too. Bread is delicious and portion size is awesome. They cater, too! Who knew?

I love Yats! I live in Broad Ripple, where we have the Yats mothership and you're pretty likely to run into Joe himself. But I've tried all the satellite locations and enjoyed them, too. Unfortunately this one is my least favorite of the bunch. We each ordered our usual of half drunken chicken, and we each got mostly got rice and maybe one chicken chunk and a splattering of sauce. The dinning area feels a little more sterile than other Yats. Service was good, though it took a bit longer than usual to fill our order, which again was mostly rice. If you're in the mood for Yats and can travel a bit further, I'd take the Carmel location over this one.

Behold -- a few lonely chunks of bread, accompanied by a sprinkle of rice.

Rating: 2 Stars Used to love Yats--until I paid $20 for what felt like a toddler's sampler. I left so hungry I considered eating the to-go box for dessert. If this is a full portion, I'd hate to see the kids size.

Asked for sour cream and started to stir my food and it was buried under. An adult should have more common sense.

If you're going to provide packets of sour cream then they should not be put on top of the food but in the bag with the utensils and napkins SMH.

This is one of those places that shouldn't be overlooked. The inside in kinda Marci-gras themed, but I don't come here for the decor. The food is magic! Plain and Simple. The menu is simple and written on the chalkboard above the bar area. Simply explained, it's white rice topped with stuff. The food never disappoints and is like a comfortable blanket on a chilly day. You're gonna want to spend the $.92 and get the extra bread. Trust me on that one.

We stopped in here to get a quick bite after a long busy day, when we walked in the lady behind the counter asked how many meals we were ordering as they were low on rice and it would be about 20 min wait. I was so sad (and hungry) we decided to only get one meal and split it and honestly that was enough, they gave us extra bread for the inconvenience and in my opinion the bread is as equally good as the rice. I've ate here several times and the food is always hot and always good. If your craving some Cajun comfort food, you've found your spot!

Always yummy, a good value, and good to-go or dine-in! Good choice for local Cajun! Always love the B&B or White Chicken Chili.

Yats as a whole has went down hill. Don't order online because there is a 100% chance they will mess the order up.

The service is consistently great, and the food never disappoints. I started with the fried green tomatoes, which are some of the best you'll find in the Indianapolis area--crispy, flavorful, and perfectly done. The biscuits and gravy are a must-order. The biscuits taste freshly made, and you can really tell the restaurant prioritizes high-quality, farm-to-table ingredients. It's easily my go-to recommendation every time I visit. The ambiance is another highlight--intimate, cute, and welcoming. Even when it's busy, it never feels too loud or overwhelming. It's perfect for a casual date, catching up with friends, or even enjoying a solo meal with your laptop. Grindstone is truly a versatile spot that always delivers.

It was a very odd moment when we first came in to be looked up and down and then feeling like we were inconveniencing them. We should have walked then but I was excited to see the building and give it a try. Our server Alan was friendly but I have a feeling he had other tables at a different area because he would be missing for long bouts of time From a food perspective, it's really nothing special and it wasn't very good. The other inconvenience were several flies that were with us in the dining room. Here's what we ordered: - pretzel appetizer - a little overdone, mustard was strong but cheese queso good. Nachos with steak - see pic - smallest nachos I've ever had at a place like this for the same price - steak was fatty, cheese wasn't even melted and while the chips were good the notion that this was a restaurant quality/portion and name sake was laughable. Same queso as was served with the pretzels. - French dip - odd taste, maybe since it was prime rib meat? Beet salad - beautifully presented and was delicious - only highlight of the meal especially with the tasty raisin bread. Fountain drinks are Pepsi brands - those were good.

My husband and I ate here for the first time today and we are SO UPSET! Not at the restaurant, meal…read moreor service but at ourselves for waiting so lonnnnggggg to try this delicious gem! We had the crab cakes and crab & artichoke dip for apps and our lunch entrees were the fried catfish sandwich with fries and the filet with mashed potatoes and collard greens. For bevvies, we tried their rosé and red zeppelin English ale. All of it, every bit and bite, was 10/10. Food breakdown: - Crab cakes: succulent lump crap meat within a lightly battered and flash fried coating. They come on a bed of arugula with a light dressing and dipping sauce for the cakes. Super yummy! - Crab & artichoke dip: ooey gooey deliciousness, perfect balance of cheese sauce too. You don't have to search for the crab or artichokes. And the fried naan chips were sliced long and thin, and could've been called naan fries actually. Perfect companion for the dip. - Fried catfish sammich: the piece of fish was huge and the batter was good. It came on Texas toast with fixins and tartar sauce. Won't lie, the only thing I wanted for was some hot sauce. That's a me problem... just gotta have hot sauce when I eat fried fish but I didn't ask for any while I was there (they may offer it) and still very much enjoyed the sandwich. - Filet: it was great... hubby got it medium and it arrived perfectly cooked. The Demi glaze sauce was so good and so were the sides. Their collard greens are seasoned up! I said does my auntie work here?! This cuisine is so comfortingly southern and didn't disappoint. Shoutout to our friendly and helpful server, Dan... our food and drinks came out quickly and so did our to-go box. His service was truly top notch. We have been living in Carmel for 5 years and this is one of the best restaurants here. If you're on the fence about trying this place, jump off and make a reservation. You won't regret it.

*2.25/5* Unwhelming. - Service was fine to average…read more - Good ambiance outside. - The red wine sangria wasn't worth the price for the pitcher; house red with maybe 5 slices of assorted fruits. - The crab and artichoke dip tasted good. The pimento cheese dip was fine; closer to a nacho cheese dip. Both dips came with too few naan dippers to finish the dip (they charged extra for extra naan to finish the dip). - The cajun pasta was fine. Pasta was cooked well. I got it with chicken, which tasted good. The sauce was fine. - The hot honey chicken tenders were crispy, but lacked flavor. - The CBR chicken sandwich was good. Crispy and good size. - Do not order the side mac n cheese. $6 for some Stouffer's mac n cheese topped with the pimento cheese dip (that's basically nacho cheese dip). Overall, if someone asked to meet here for a meal I would request another restaurant but I'd still eat here if they insisted.

It took some time for us all to order and start getting our drinks. However, the food started coming out pretty quickly. I ordered the Plant Power with cajun seasoning at the medium spice level with a side of boiled eggs. It was so delicious! It came out piping hot and covered in seasoning. The plant power comes with a generous amount of corn, boiled potatoes, and broccoli. The boiled eggs were overcooked, though, and they were too hot to eat for awhile, though. They burned my fingers! I loved the flavor and didn't think it was spicy at all, though. I was worried that the veggie plate would be underwhelming in comparison to the seafood boils that everyone else ordered but I think I actually enjoyed it the most lol Since they knew we were celebrating my boyfriend's birthday, they gave a gift card for $15 off his next visit. They also have a neon lit birthday sign and our server lead us in singing the Birthday song -- if you don't like that kind of attention, don't tell them lol

We are…read morenot big seafood eaters (I am vegetarian but willing to try seafood), and thought this may be a good chance to have crab for the first time! It wasn't busy on a Saturday at lunch time. Staff was friendly and we were sat right away, we were however sat in the wrong section and had to move after getting settled. But no worries, we were understanding! I loved the decor, very fitting for a seafood spot. And when we were sat we received a bucket with all the tools needed to get into the meal: wipes, gloves, bibs, plates, forks, scissors. Our drink menu was well loved, and hard to read. I opted for the flying tiger drink, and the server laughed a little and walked if that's what I wanted. I was a bit confused, but let me tell you it's delicious but STRONG. We started off with Mozerella sticks and Cajun fries. The Mozerella sticks were served with marinara, and were good but nothing special. The fries came with tartar sauce, and were some of the best fries I've had! As for the reason we came, the seafood boil. I got the Plant Power (potato, corn, broccoli) and added boiled eggs. I got it "juicy style" which is all of the seasonings, and chose medium for my spice level. Everything was great, the eggs were over cooked a bit, but good nonetheless. My spouse got the Mr Captain (Snow crab, sausage, shrimp, potato, corn, egg) with the same spice & level. He was not pleased with the shrimp overall, and could have done without it overall. I tried some of the crab, and can confidently say it was the best thing we ordered and I am a huge fan of crab now! The crab wasn't as meat-y as we hoped and overall it was a lot of work to crack open for such a small amount of meat. Since we are new to the seafood scene, I'm not sure if it's normal to have that little of meat in snow crab. Overall, we will be coming again to try more things. The must haves for us would be crab (duh!) and those Cajun fries!
