Good fast food. Quick nice staff and clean. We got the mushroom Swiss burger and a milkshake We both thought the burger was a little small compared to normal burgers. But it was good. read more

Great place, Such a friendly environment with great staff who are always so nice! Great milkshakes and have cool car shows!!

Went to get a shake yesterday, and it had a burnt chemically smell. It tasted awful like it was burnt and had some kind of chemicals in it. Almost like the machine was burning and putting out fumes. Both milkshakes. I also ordered a large sprite and large tater tot and we got a large fry and tater tot. Paid $20 and only ate the tater tots. read more

I went through the drive-through and my son dropped a toy outside of my car window. I mentioned to Barry who was working the drive-through that I was going to pull back around to look for it. To my surpriseHe offered to retrieve it And did just that . I was very thankful this an example of a genuinely kind person with fantastic customer service skills!! thank you Barry!! read more

Terrible service and unhealthy employees.... After ordering from here and going to the restaurant. The employee that made our milkshakes stirred it with his bare hands and touched the cherry with his bare hands as well. Not to mention forgot my son's food and then refused to refund me. It was 11:30 at night and I was told the store was closing, online says 1am. Make that make sense. I then had to drive around and spend even more money on food because this establishment can't do their due diligence. On top of everything else when you call the store no one answers the phone and there isn't a voicemail to leave a message. Terrible service! read more

We had to go get our menu they didn't even bring some to us and we never got service we sat there for 40 minutes would not recommend

Did a mobile.order today. When I went inside to get my order, I noticed that one of the cooks was cooking without a hair net. Her hair was in a ponytail, but it was a long one. The staff was friendly. My wait wasn't too long either. Food was good Nd shake was amazing, as always. I would eat here again. read more

Update: Jan. 1, 2021: Came here with my husband and 3 kids for lunch. I'll keep this blunt and to the point. We were seated at a dirty table. Someone promptly came to clean it though. Our server got everything wrong - probably because he wrote it on his HAND instead of paper. Ordered 4 milkshakes. Got 3. Never got the 4th. My husband burger order never got turned in at all, so our food was cold by the time his came out. My daughter didn't get cheese on her CHEESEBURGER. When asked about it, instead of bringing her a fresh cheeseburger, he brought out a cold slice of cheese on a saucer. My husband and I both asked for the regular Steak & Shake seasoning on my fries, and I specifically asked to make sure it was the regular, NOT the Cajun because it's too hot and burns my lips. He brought fries covered in Cajun seasoning anyway. When we told him it was wrong, he brought us a small condiment cup of the correct seasoning - what are we supposed to do with that? Put it on top of the Cajun kind we specifically said we didn't want? I had to ask twice for new fries before he finally reluctantly brought them. My husband never got the correct fries. My daughter asked for chocolate milk. He brought her a milkshake. At some point during our visit, he just left and went walking into Walmart parking lot. I had to go to the counter to get refills for three of us, at which point I asked to cancel the milkshake that we never got. When we got our ticket, the milkshake was still on there. Seriously. It wasn't even busy. There were only 2 other tables with customers in there, and it was 3pm. read more

My sister, son and me went for late lunch about 3 pm and all had double steak burgers fixed three different ways as per our orders. Our waitress was excellent suggesting we order milkshakes before happy hour was ending at 4 pm. The steak burgers were good and the milkshakes were excellent served in tall ice cream glasses made this nostalgic restaurant worth returning someday. read more

We use to love Steak n Shake. But the last several times we've visited have been disappointing. This will be our last time. The place is generally unclean. But the biggest issue is the fact that servers wear their hair literally hanging in their eyes (several of them). And we actually saw a worker digging in his nose. Manager, you are responsible for this. Expect more from your workers. read more

The food was amzing staff was super nice and joyful 10/10 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So the food was cold just a mess tomato lettuce was old FF cold just a bad experience

Steakburger? More like Saltburger. Ease up on the salt my man. The burger is saltier than the fries. Couldn't finish it. Also, a double cheese has two slices of cheese. The cashier certainly got the price right, you should get the order right. read more

My family and I came to Steak 'n Shake, when we walked in and said we had a party of 9 the lady who asked how many people we had she jokingly said 'you don't mean three?' I did not find that funny at all. Then proceeded to be sat at a dirty table when the table should've been cleaned before we sat down. Service was alright had a newer server. Noticed the ceiling tiles have water spots and is leaking on the floor, they should be concerned about someone slipping and falling and filing for a lawsuit. Probably won't be back anytime soon. read more

Steak ’n Shake - a man in a diner - Burgers Near Me - Mobile, Alabama

We have always ordered garlic steak burgers all the time but recently every time we've went it has been terrible and dry. No sauce. Dry patties. I don't know if they fired a great cook in the back or what but were very disappointed. read more

We walked in at 10pm, the worker was on the phone at the counter it sounded like a personal call and was very rude to us saying "the lobby was closed" but in a very annoyed tone and was very obnoxious about it then proceeded to say "hold on let me go get this key to lock this door" I assume to her coworker or to whomever she was talking to on the phone with but we simply said sorry and walked out needless to say we will not be purchasing anything from this particular store. There was not sign or anything at all indicating that the lobby was closed and Google said they were open until 12am. Had this worker been nicer about it we would've just went through the drive through. read more

Tried to take my kids and their friends here after a movie. After sitting in there for 20 minutes and no one taking our order we left. I did have a large group of 10 kids but they were not being rowdy or anything like that. I think maybe none of the girls wanted to wait on the "big group" since they waited on 2 other couples that came in after us. When I saw those tables got their food I decided it was time to go. When we all stood up to leave there was still no attempt to ask if we could be helped. Right as we were passing through the doorway one of the employees whispered "they're leaving". read more

Didn't even serve us. We waited over 30 minutes and we had not been asked for menus or anything. We also didn't even get asked for drinks or anything. Wasn't able to even order food or anything. Place wasn't busy and it felt as if they did not want to serve a large group. We were not being loud or anything or disrupting anyone. read more

Walked in and wasn't greeted for a while then told to sit wherever. We sat in a booths for 20 minutes and a server never came by. We ended up leaving and going to Wendy's. read more

The ratings on this place are low for some reason, we had never been here and there was great food and great service when we went here. The servers had a good amount of people to take care of and all our food needs were met! This is a great environment for families and gatherings for groups. We will be back again! read more

This restaurant needs to be closed down. The ceiling is leaking sooo bad. Half of the tables have notes that says "do not sit". Theres large puddles of water on tables. We sat at a booth but it had water and ceiling pieces on the ketchup bottle and seasoning. Just complete gross and disgusting. I don't know how the health department allows them to keep operating like this. We left before our drinks even came out. Wont be back until i see them close down and remodel! read more

When we first walked in we asked to be seated in a booth if that was possible as soon as we sat down the ceiling started leaking. When you look up you see mold on the ceiling. When we order our server messed up several times. The first two times was understandable but when it came to our food it was just a mess. She kept forgetting everything. Me and my family will definitely not be coming back here to eat. read more

Food is always great. Drive thru service is always terrible. Sat at the menu for 10 minutes, and no one would say anything. Finally decided to pull up to the window to order and see the workers just eating and talking. Finally got someone's attention. I assorted a whole deck of playing cards with lots of extra minutes to spare before I got my food. read more

This is by far one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had at a fast food joint. To get a simple milkshake it took us 20 mins of waiting in line. The manager was extremely unapologetic. And in fact accusatory and claimed that it was due to her store being short staffed. All this while at least two employees were outside on smoke breaks while the drive thru line piled on. No refund was offered. No compensation. Not even an apology. Jasmine the extremely rude manager slammed the drive thru window and went back inside. Avoid this store at all costs. read more

Good food, but they seemed understaffed. Full restaurant but only had 2 waitress. I will go back and maybe it will be a better experience. Will update when I do. read more

Me and a group of 10 came in and sat down we waited for around 30 minutes and no one came to give us menus or ask for our order.

This is my very first review. One star it too kind for this place. I come here thinking it will be a different/better experience than the last time and every time I leave aggravated and disappointed. EVERY SINGLE TIME I HAVE BEEN HERE THE DRIVE THRU PEOPLE ARE EXTREMELY RUDE. Not even rude, but disrespectful rude. Like they can get away with treating and talking to people however they want & CAN BECAUSE THE MANAGEMENT IS JUST AS BAD AND LAUGH AND SMIRK WHEN YOU BRING IT TO THEIR ATTENTION. I've never been so angry leaving a restaurant before. Not to mention my WHOLE ENTIRE $50 ORDER WAS WRONG. This place needs a whole new staff. Management needs to be replaced asap. read more

Fries were too small for my liking but the burgers are overall great!! My go to favorite is the one with garlic buns I forget the exact name

Last time I've been to one of these was during my childhood in my hometown. This one surpassed my nostalgia I had for it. I used to only get milkshakes as a kid, but the food was amazing too. The fries were great and the burger was greater. The milkshake was gigantic and the service was great. The waitress was really nice and pretty funny overall. read more

Another satisfying visit and extremely inexpensive meal at Steak 'n Shake. Tonight it was a standard double with cheese and some chicken fingers. The Buffalo sauce (reminiscent of a thickened Frank's Red Hot) was a tasty accompaniment. As usual, I sprinkled seasoned salt on my shoestring fries. Staff literally checked in with me every 5 minutes to see if I needed anything, including the manager. Outstanding. read more

They do have some of the best burgers and best prices but a lot of people don't realize they have a great breakfast me and my dad stopped in there for breakfast and we was very impressed but we was the only ones in there and it kinda bothered me so I been trying to spread the word to try a really good breakfast for low prices read more

Went to Steak 'n Shake thinking we could get a cheesesteak. When we asked the girl at the register she had never heard of a cheesesteak before! You'd figure with a name like Steak 'n Shake they'd have cheesesteak on the menus. read more

Went to the drive-thru with my wife. We have not been to a Steak n' Shake for years and were looking forward to it. The fries were cold and greasy, the burgers had NO similarity to what appeared on the screen and were cold. My wife's burger could hardly be found under the mound of pickles (she like pickles, but it was literally a mound of pickles). We realized why they had no line at lunch time when every other drive thru had lines. Now we know and it is be a VERY long time until we ever go there again, if ever. read more

My husband and I brought a group of teens and kids to eat after a movie. Group of 11. They were excited to be at Steak 'n Shake. It's a family favorite. We sat for 15+ minutes without being greeted or given a menu. One of our guys got us menus since we are regulars. Then we sat and picked our orders and waited. We watched 3 other smaller groups come in one with 5 people, one with an older couple, and 2 or 3 guys in work clothes be served and get their food after we arrived. We got up and left. From the parking lot we watched a girl immediately serve the family that sat in our booth as we left. The restaurant food smelled great. The tables were clean. That's what 2 stars are for. I give a zero to service and managment. I've worked in good service years ago. I think this is a fair score. We were clean, dressed nice, not overly loud, we were not rude to anyone upon entering or while waiting, and are also a diverse group. Not sure why we were treated badly. We went to ChickFilA instead. read more

I've had quite a few good dining experiences here, the 4 dollar burger menu is such a great business move for these guys that it keeps drawing me back again and again. Thus far I've tried quite a few of the burgers on the 4 dollar menu and even one of their great chili dogs. Good burgers, and a healthy pile of fries for a good price. I always leave full but not overly stuffed. The Garlic Burger, the Bacon Cheese and the Royal something or other are all really tasty and juicy burgers. But breakfast is where they really earn my money!! I am hooked on that Country Skillet. The whole thing is beyond delicious, is comparable to skillets at places like Denny's and IHOP, but are MUCH more reasonably priced. Steak and Shake has become a favorite local hangout. Try them and see for yourself. read more

Service was horrible. My Family and I were sat at a table and after 20 mins nobody greeted us or took a single drink order but could hear the waitresses cutting up at the drink fountain.
