    Original Double Cheese 'N Fries
    Kayla N.

During my recent layover at the Houston airport, I wanted to grab a quick dinner before my next flight and visited the food court in terminal C. As Steak 'n Shake had the shortest line (no line at all), I figured I would pick it to get in/out faster. I ordered the Original Double Cheese 'N Fries ($8.75) with grilled onions (+$0.50). I wanted to order a shake as well, but the ice cream machine was broken so that wasn't an option. Taste wise, the burger was great and hit the spot while the fries were a miss. The fries were so thin and a bit overcooked. The burger was quickly put on the grill and cooked but then I watched it sit for quite awhile before the woman who packed the bags with fries grabbed it to get it ready. Even with minimal people having ordered before me, she was incredibly slow and not enthusiastic about helping customers. Once my order was finally ready, I asked for ketchup packets and mayo to which the woman bagging orders replied "we don't have that" as I saw the mayo and ketchup right in front of her. When I pointed it out to her, she then replied that she didn't have anything to put it in so she couldn't give it to me. Luckily, the man who took my order corrected her and said that they did. She still chose not to get ketchup and mayo for me so the gentleman taking the orders had to do it. He was clearly frustrated with having to do it but I did appreciate him helping me.

I wouldn't waste your time. Steak 'n Shake is not worth the cost. Overhyped and over priced.

Steaks are mediocre at best, was expecting a lot more. It's ok, service was quick though. I say, if you can find a better spot, do it

Let's talk about it…read more First time visiting Jack in the Box, fresh off the plane in Houston and ready to see what the hype's about. Spoiler alert: there isn't much. We ordered the Bacon Double Smashed Jack Burger, and let me tell you -- it looked like the love child of a Burger King Whopper and a Wendy's Double Stack... just without the flavor. It was all meat, no magic. Thick patties, lots of bite, but zero seasoning. It was really hitting on nothing. Now let's talk about the curly fries -- they were extra crispy in the way that says "we forgot about these in the fryer." They tasted like they wanted to be Arby's fries, but got left behind in the group chat. Dry, overcooked, and aggressively forgettable. And then -- the tacos. Oh man. Easily the worst thing I've eaten in the past year. Greasy, soggy, and barely holding together, like someone dared to deep fry a disappointment. Taco Bell's basic crunchy taco would sweep these in a street fight. The vibe inside? Funny enough, it looked like an old school Taco Bell that never got the renovation memo. Dim lights, weird energy, and not a lot of love. Final rating: 4 out of 10. Would I come back? Probably not -- unless I lose a bet or all the other fast food joints are closed. Catch me somewhere else next time -- this one's getting a hard pass.

It's a little slow for a fast food restaurant, but overall the food was good. Had a great burger.read more

Their Chocolate shake wasn't too bad, but also didn't taste any different from shakes I had in the past, nor was my friend's burger, which I took a bite of, anything spectacular either. I felt a little ballsy and ordered an item from the secret menu: Animal-Styled fries, which consisted of American-melted cheese, grilled onions, and Thousand Island sauce. While the toppings sounded appealing, I was extremely let down by the fries; they weren't crispy at all, and they didn't have any salt. Their grilled onions were my favorite, but that's me being generous since nothing else was delivering. I also wish their cheese were more melted, since it made the fries a bit difficult to scoop. Overall, In-N-Out wasn't atrocious, but plain and overhyped best describes it. I am glad I gave it a try.

On the way to the hotel I…read moresaw the sign "Hot Biscuit" and since biscuits are one of my favorite foods, I decided to walk over and have dinner there. I wanted to start with one biscuit, but the biscuits come in pairs. The waitress said I could order just one anyway, but the order ended up being two. I meant to save the second one for breakfast, but that was not to be. It did not survive long enough to make it out the door. My actual meal was a bacon swiss and mushroom burger, which was excellent. Between the biscuits and the burger, I am forced to acknowledge that it was entirely too much food. Sadly, that did not prevent me from eating all of it anyway. Delicious! The restaurant, which is a diner with very basic decor, is on an approach road to IAH, and is open 24/7. When I arrived in the evening, the place was empty. By the time I left, there were a whole bunch of customers. I noticed in other reviews that people were saying they did not receive checks for their meal and felt they were over-charged at the register. I did not receive a check either, but the amount I was charged at the register seemed accurate -- and I was paying attention because I had read the other reviews first.

I was catching up with my sister, we were there about 5 hours and the restaurant was empty. A mature-aged Asian woman came in, spotted the restroom door, and proceeded to it. The manager/owner (older man with balding hair) RAPIDLY went from the other side of the restaurant to intercept the woman right at the restroom entrance. He asked her what she needed, she told him to use the restroom, he then asked if she needed a table. When she replied "no", he stated that restrooms are for paying customers only. She was embarrassed, froze, said "Okay", and walked towards the exit. The guy saw my sister and I watching this unfold with screwfaces, so he tells the woman at the exit "Well go ahead and use it, you're already in here, I guess". While she was in the restroom he made a sign about their restroom stance and was taping it to the front door as the woman was exiting the building. We left immediately also. A business has the right to have such a ridiculous regulation, but this woman was dressed clean and came from a Lexus SUV. She wasn't homeless or some street prostitute that might be reckless in a public restroom. The idiot guy was petty, rude, inconsiderate, cold, and careless. I refuse to spend money at an establishment run by such a person.
