My coworkers decided to order from Southern Jerk for lunch, and I'd been wanting to try this chicken spot for a while--so I went for it! I ordered the 5-piece with a side of macaroni. The chicken came as drumettes, which I really liked, and it was packed with flavor--perfectly seasoned just the way I like it. The macaroni was simple but really tasty and comforting. I also got to try some of my coworker's collard greens, and wow... they were absolutely delicious. Definitely recommend giving this spot a try if you're in the mood for some good, flavorful chicken!

Southern jerk crispy fried chicken it's the spot. Don't be fooled by the gas station stereotypes, this place goes hard. Made fresh to order, I got the 8-count wings with mac and cheese and a side of jerk chili sauce. Great flavor, a mouth-watering experience. It's a must try and the prices are decent. I will definitely be back for more.

My favorite Jamaican entree is usually jerk chicken, so when I found out there's a spot which sells fried jerk chicken, I was really excited to try the offerings. Southern Jerks, though not a Jamaican spot, does get the jerk flavor right. The wings (5/5) I ordered had a great flavor. This is more of a takeout-oriented business inside a gas station, so I ate a plate later at home. in regards to sides, I had originally thought of ordering greens, but instead ordered the dirty rice (4/5) and mac and cheese (5/5), the latter of the two being really good. The box comes with a roll and a pepper (jalapeño). You also get dipping sauces, which are awesome. Chef Jabril was really cool and kind, eager to explain his business and all the various offerings. I definitely recommend Southern Jerks for the unique flavor, 5/5 overall.

I ordered the "Just Winging It" 8-piece combo with spice, and paired it with sides of 3 Cheese Mac 'N Cheese and Collard Greens. The fried chicken was golden, crunchy, and seasoned to perfection without being too greasy. The golden ranch on the side was the perfect touch. The mac and cheese was creamy, cheesy, and had just the right amount of richness. The collard greens were tender, flavorful, and not too salty. They even threw in a soft roll and a crisp pepper that balanced everything out. The portion sizes were generous, and for under $25 (including a tip), I definitely feel like I got my money's worth. Service was quick, and my order was ready right on time. If you're looking for soul food meets Southern comfort with a little island kick, Southern Jerks is it.

I'll admit, I was skeptical at first because it's inside a gas station... but Southern Jerks is LEGIT. The food is fresh and you can smell it the second you walk in. Nothing tasted like it was sitting around -- everything came out hot, crispy, and seasoned all the way through. The Caribbean jerk fried wings were the highlight for me. Great flavor and the seasoning actually sticks. The three-cheese mac and cheese was also really good -- creamy, cheesy, and not dry at all. I tried the tenders too and they were definitely on point. This is one of those hidden gems you'd drive past and never know. Worth stopping for.

I recently tried Southern Jerk, and I have mixed feelings about my experience. The food was absolutely delicious! Every dish was bursting with flavor and truly showcased the essence of Southern cuisine. However, I did have a rough time afterward, as it left my stomach in shambles. While I loved the taste, I wish I hadn't experienced such discomfort. I would recommend giving it a try, but maybe be cautious about portion sizes or spice levels if you have a sensitive stomach.

Their fries! (They give you a lot, however I ate so many before the photo bc they are so bomb!)

Great spot if you want some good fried chicken or a burger and fries. The fries were soooo good! Probably the best fries I've had in a minute. Love how they cooked the burger and toasted the bun. Oh, and make sure to get the lemon pepper sauce! So bomb with the fries! (I forgot to take a photo). Service is friendly and welcoming. All the food is made FRESH to order! Literally seen the cook making everything and the Mac and cheese! Mac n cheese is cheesy and flavorful. I was satisfied with everything. It is in a convenient store, however makes it easy to come in order and go. Overall highly recommend if you're craving some FRESH fried chicken or a good burger and fries.

This place is located inside of a gas station with no inside dining. The service is friendly and very helpful. The fries were seasoned extremely well.. I was really shocked,l until I tried the Mac n Cheese which was unbelievable delicious. I couldn't make out the distinctive flavors but they all worked well together. The rice, and the greens are both delicious with a homemade taste. It will make it difficult for me to select just one side when I return. Highly recommend them.

We decided to try this place. I'm from New Orleans therefore we are used to eating gas station food. As a matter of fact we look for places like this. It's pretty clean in there. The chicken is good. it's hot and fresh. While the chicken is good I was looking for the jerk flavor and it never came through. It smells like jerk but not much of a jerk flavor. Being that I am a home chef who has been creating jerk dishes I was excited to try this but the jerk flavor was disappointing. Again the chicken is really good it's just lacks the jerk flavor. The people in there are nice and it was a small wait but I have no problem waiting for freshly prepared food. The food is a little pricey but I don't mind paying for good food and especially contributing to small businesses. I can say they did get us on the price. My husband said let's get the family wing meal but when I looked up the family meal gives you one less wing than the single meal but the cost is the same price so be ware of the gimmick that you usually find in the large food chains. We also paid for the dipping sauce that was supposed to be jerk. Well again, there was no jerk flavor, It was more like a sweet chili dipping sauce. All in all if I lived in the area I would visit regularly if I wanted fried chicken and didn't feel up to cooking . Just don't expect jerk flavors.

I've been addicted since I first tried them. Literally went back that same day for dinner . Now I've told my job about and we decided to get them for lunch. 10 out 10 recommend! Go give it a try

I forgot to get our servers name but she was great and it didn't take too long for us to get our food besides the patties being made fresh to order. The beef, chicken and spinach patties were all fresh, flaky, crispy, and well seasoned with the perfect amount of spice. I had brown stew chicken with rice/peas, cabbage/carrots and plantains and my niece had jerk chicken with white rice, plantains and greens. All the food was good except I felt they skimped on my chicken portion a little and my chicken could've used a little more spice. It was cooked perfectly though, very tender and even though the portion was smaller than I'm used to it was just the right amount for me to eat during lunch, just not enough to take home for later like I'm used to doing at other Caribbean spots. We ended up getting patties, plantains and jerk chicken to go. Also, the patties were fresh and piping hot but the rest of our food was warm, almost room temperature.

Being from St Croix island in the Virgin Islands, seeing the menu and taking in the smells of this place gave her memories of back home. Of course I was happy to indulge her request as it gave me an opportunity to try some handheld eats. First the beef pattie, pretty big and so savory with the meat melting in your mouth and the dough having a nice texture and crust. And then the saheena; OMG! It was my first time having this lovely pastry which is made of chickpeas, spinach, and caribbean spices. You'll be hooked on this after one bite. Texture was similar to a savory piece of cornbread. Of course I was very happy with this item. The girlfriend ordered a currant roll which had some sweetness to it with a flaky crust. I enjoyed it but not as much as I was scarfing down my beef pattie and saheena. They also serve traditional caribbean eats including jerk chicken, oxtails, bake & saltfish, and roti wraps. We noticed a lot of people place to go orders here and call ahead for pick up. There were several bags of eats waiting as we witnessed people roll in and pick them up while having small talk with the owners. All those items looked delicious and we plan to come back and try those out. We also talked to the owners for a bit, they're a husband/wife team who've owned/operated this place for a while. Super polite and gracious, they helped me navigate the menu and explained what the items would be like when I ordered. Sadly I could not get the Aloo Pie (sold out) but they assured me it's worth having and to come back and try it (which we will). Pearland is lucky to have this place here. Definitely recommend trying it out for yourself!

I tried the sauce and it was so flavorful and savory. Would definitely get them if I ate beef. Now that curry mash! O my goodness, I never had it before but it was so good. It's not just mash potatoes and curry. The onions, peppers and other fresh seasonings set it off and I would get it again. The plantains were good, soft and sweet. The steamed veggies were so good and sautéed perfectly. I don't like them cooked too long and they had the perfect bite. The rice and peas were also good. They went perfectly with the meal and the seasoning was on point. The chicken curry patty I could've passed on. The outside was so flaky and good! I never had a patty like that but it was kind of cold and I had already gotten the curry chicken and thats exactly what it taste like, just in patty form, although the curry chicken meal was better. The chicken curry was sooo good and flavorful. I got a roti skin to sop up my curry but didn't care for it to much. It tastes like its made with wheat flour or germ flour and was a bit too thick‍ no shade to them. To be honest, I'm a 'bust up shut' roti kinda girl and everybody's is different and that's fine. Now, if they made the roti skin like they made the Jamaican patty, I would be in business. I ate quite a bit and STILL had a whole meal to take home with me and was full after finishing it. When I see people of the culture eating their own food its a good indication to me the food is good. There were a couple tables with a few Jamaican's enjoying it. We went the Saturday after Hurricane Beryl so the lights in the dining area were out probably due to heat, which I'm fine with. It wasn't too hot or cool even without the air on. It was a good time. Next time I'm getting the jerk chicken
