This restaurant was the best one by far,where I went in my vacation in America.I had the bacon n cheese steak burger and it was incredible and paired with the classic french fries,that were thin and delicious it was a lovely meal and absolutely perfect.Also,the milkshake was fenomenal and the best one I had by far.It was the oreo mint one and the combination in general reminded me of the 80's and 90's and the classic fast foods from that time and this fantastic meal transported my mind to that time for some sweet minutes.Definitely the best restaurant yet in my stay in America and I hope I'll eat again here soon read more

What a horrible experience!!! First off, we felt rushed from the time we sat down.... Why? Because our waitress was ready to go. How do I know this? Because she left without letting us know, and then some random person came to our table and asked how we were doing. Well, she came to our once.... Literally, once. First off, Candice the server was doing the best she could with what she was given. The staff in general was not turning over tables and causing a unwarranted wait. The food was as good as any other steak and shake.... My wife had a hard time getting anyone to come check her out when it was time to pay. She came back to the table and Candice came back to apologize and she then took care of it. We tipped her more than our ticket cost because she was clearly the glue holding it together. So 4 stars.... Would have been three without one good server. read more

I should have read the yelp reviews before we stopped here. There was no line, but we still waited over 5 minutes to get seated. Then another 40 minute wait for our disappointing meal. My wife's burger was missing half of the toppings, and part of someone else's meal was on the bottom of her plate. Our large "cheese" fries had almost no cheese. The waitress tried telling us that the single burger has different toppings than the double but it didn't say that in writing anywhere on the menu. The manager was nowhere to be found. My suggestion is to eat somewhere else. We could have spent 1/3 the money at McDonalds and had a better meal. read more

I can not praise Alexis enough!!! She was the best waitress I've ever had. Truly made me feel like I was family when I arrived there. The chef, Gabe, even came to our table to ask us how we liked our meal. He made some great Chicken Fingers. Even gave us complimentary onion rings. It was as if I was hanging out with my best friends! I have truly never had better service than this steak and shake. I would recommend everyone go and ask to meet Gabe. This is a mixed review. Service slow, burgers good, fries stale. Yesterday, we had a takeout order for six burger and fry meals (no shakes or drinks). It took almost 30 minutes for them to make six burgers and fries. Yes, I know it's not a regular fast-food place, but we watched as they made the meals. No one is in a hurry, and they don't seem very organized. The server who took our order was fast and efficient, but no one else seemed to be. We had three regular double cheeseburgers (all the way) and three that were to order (no ketchup, no pickle, no cheese). And they got every order correct. I've been to much better Steak 'n Shakes - I hope this one will take notice, because we like having them in town. read more

We were staying at a hotel down the street. We called in the order. It was so much cleaner than the Steak n Shake around here. My husband loves to go for the White Chocolate Shakes which you can only get during the Holidays. They forgot one of our fries but everything else was great. read more

The other reviews are spot. This place had more than enough time to get their act together, find better management and nothing has been done after a few years of being open. I have given this location 5 times and each time has become worse. Everyone does a great job walking fast looking like they are doing something but if you continue to watch they are confused, could care less about the task and seem to bicker with each other never in a hurry for the customer. The last time I went I sat right in front of the register. I counted 5 times different people tried to pay for their checks and more than one employee just walked right by not even making eye contact, or letting them know someone would be right with them. It took 35 min for us to even order, and on top of that another couple who came in after us placed their order, got their food, consumed their food and paid for their food before we even got our milkshakes. By this time another waitress came to our table asking if we were ready to order. They claimed the ticket was lost but then after complaining they suddenly remembered what our order was. It took another 15 min to get our other milkshake when we ordered both at the same time, his made 45 min for that one. No one seems to know what their role is or which tables they are covering. The service here is HORRIBLE. Overall it took over 2.5 hours to order, get our food, eat and pay. There was maybe 7 other tables. Run from this place. They need a complete overhaul, new staff, new management, and severe training. read more

We eat here once a week or so. It seems to be always be understaffed. The hostess is always away cleaning tables. She uses a roll of paper towel meant for a large towel dispenser She used no disinfectant Today we waited 15 min for a table on Sunday at 11:45 am. As we stood here , they told everyone 15 min with all tables full and 8 names on the list. As we were seated we noted that most tables have no food. The drive through is moving and seems to be their priority. We waited 35 minutes after being seated for our food to arrive. I know this location is new, but the burgers are awful. They are not cooked like other Steak N Shakes; and therefore, are not the quality of other Steak N Shakes. We tried it when it first open and hated it. Then tried it again last week, and I ended up throwing my burger away. It wasn't cooked enough, there was way too much seasoning on it, the cheese wasn't even melted, and the bun was cold. Me and my wife both ate the double bacon cheeseburger which was more like a mustard burger. Had to wipe both hands and face after every bite due to too much mustard. Onion rings were good, so was the fries. We had a ultimate banana shake and chocolate covered strawberry shake which was great. The place was clean and very nice. I like the new look, it don't seem so 50's. Waitress was nice and did not let us go without. I also appreciate the happy hour between 2-4. We just moved to the area and wanted to try local restaurants. This Steak n Shake was one of the most poorly managed restaurants I have ever seen. Staff was wondering around without any seeming duty. We were right next to the shake "station" where we watched shakes sitting for 5-10 minutes. They were dripping down the sides and the waitress who finally came to claim then would not even bother to wipe them off. The floors and counters were disgusting. I kept looking for a manager to talk to, but she stayed in the back with headphones on to avoid human contact. Strike this one off our list for second visits. GROSS! read more

I've given up on Steak n Shake in Cartersville. I love your food, but the service after midnight is atrocious and has been for the last 6 months! I work third shift and always have issues with slow service, or just had to leave. Heard every excuse from the boss likes to keep the third payroll, to can't hire anyone who will stay. If it was up to me I wouldn't even give one star, but I'm forced to because of the rating requirement. The only thing (or should I say Person) I would give a star to would be Jasmine, the waitress that apologized and offered to get me anything I needed. First off, all we wanted to do was sit and be with friends and have a nice meal after Church. We had been to one place that was too packed to even get a handicapped space so we choose Steak'N'Shake. They were just as packed, but by this time we were all starving and couldn't wait any longer. My stepdad has muscular dystrophy and is in a wheelchair, which limits us to the table we can sit at. So, we had no choice but to sit outside. A member of our party went in to tell them we would be eating outside, to which they said they do not serve tables out there and that they were for the convenience of the people that got to-go orders that changed their minds. They told us we would have to order inside, which was fine with us. So after chasing a waitress down finally, we placed our order, she didn't ask for a name. We went back outside and waited for a while. As we were waiting, there was another table outside that got their drinks AND food handed to them by a waitress. Imagine our surprise thinking they didn't serve anyone outside, so we went back inside to check on our order, still not having our drinks. They had set a coffee on the counter without saying anything (which was ours), then the food came to the counter in a to-go bag. So we took our order out of the bag and realized we had no napkins, no utensils, no packets of ketchup, and no milkshake (we ordered 1). So a member of our party went back in to get some ketchup and couldn't get anyone's attention, so she took it upon herself to grab a bottle of ketchup from the counter and brought it out to us. The Manager then told a waitress to come out and get the ketchup back, so she did. Then we went in to get the utensils and some packets of ketchup (at this time, not realizing the milkshake was missing). I personally asked the manager if I could have a spoon and a fork. He said "sure", and headed around the wall to the *drive-in* window, I waited and waited, no utensils. Then a waitress came and asked me if I needed anything, I told her about the utensils. She then went and got them. As she was getting them I saw the Manager put his finger up in the air like "Oh yeah, that's what I was supposed to be getting!" He then turned around to me with a *snickering-like* expression and told me from ACROSS THE ROOM that a different waitress already went out with them. I said okay and went back out. Then a member of our party went back to speak with the Manager about the terrible service we'd received and the Manager made excuses. After eating our cold food for a few minutes we realized there was no milkshake, so my mother (who ordered the milkshake), went in to get it. Guess what was now sitting on the counter for a few minutes, and they expected her to take it...I think not! So she waited for a new one, which we're guessing they just took the old one and added new whipped cream. But we were so hungry by this time that we just dealt with it. Okay, now we're finally relaxing and eating. After we finish, the waitress brings out our ticket. Haha...so they come out to get money, but not to serve us, interesting! Now we are forced to pay FULL PRICE for a bad experience. So, we ask for the Manager to come out and speak with us. We explained our lack of service because the other table was treated like a normal table inside. He kept talking over our friend and made excuses for everything. What he should've done, being that "The customer is ALWAYS right!", is comp our meal and apologize for the inconvenience he or anyone may have caused and said "Anything else I can do for you, let me know!", but no, all we got was a "God Bless You!"
